This restaurant is a great addition to the Lakeport Commons, however, I hope the restaurant staff doesn’t take that for granted. We have had hit and miss visits to Old Chicago. 2 things that remains on point– beer selection is great and the Italian nachos! We LOVED the Thai chili wings the 1st2 times, but our most recent visit they were disguisting. Looked and tasted like frozen wings. Pizzas have been hot, crispy and tasty… But most recently it was not cooked thoroughly and sloppily presented. Please stay delicious Old Chicago!

This Old Chicago has a cool atmosphere. They have a lot of high tables which we always end up being sat at– I much prefer regular table height. I’m always on the quest for a great pizza and Sioux City is actually rather short on pizza places on the south end of the city so this was definitely a great addition. Old Chicago pizza is good, but it doesn’t fulfill the need for the super cheesy wood fired type of pizza and they don’t have breadsticks. Their service is ok, the food is ok, everything is ok, but not really exciting or something I would drive out of my way for.

Fantastic new addition to the Sioux City market that has fantastic food and a wonderful selection of beers… and the only place I’ve found here in town with gluten-free Omission beer on a regular basis.

My husband and I frequent the place. We mostly come a lot so he can work on his beer tour; I come because they have gluten-free options! I love it. I’m gluten intolerant so I try to avoid it as much as possible. Pizza is one of my FAVORITE foods and they have a gluten free 10in pizza that is just perfect. Plus they have cider beers and gluten free beers that don’t taste like butt. I gave it a 4 star because sometimes when we sit at a table, our service is bad, but at the bar we never have an issue. The outdoor patio area is awesome.

A new restaurant to Sioux City, Old Chicago( ) located in Lakeport Commons is Sioux Cities new hot spot. With a HUGE beer selection(Over 100 different beers) and amazing specials this new restaurant has the customers rolling in! We visited Old Chicago on our last trip to Sioux City, we were told the wait would be 30 – 40 minutes and we were happily surprised when our buzzer went off in 20 minutes. We started our night off with their beer selection– we tried a German beer, as well as a mixed beer, Blue Moon & Peach Cider. Tom enjoys the strong flavor of German beers and I loved the mixture of Blue Moon and Cider — we were very impressed by the beer selection, it was nice to see a bar or restaurant in Sioux City offering something more than Bud Light. It’s about time Sioux City branches out with their beer selection and beer combinations! While I am happy to see a new restaurant in Sioux City offering beer selection and specials I am unsure how they will do over time. The food seemed to be on the high end– Specialty pizza is not a fad in the Mid-West like it is on the East Coast especially with the high prices. $ 13 for a 8 inch personal pan pizza is very high, and $ 24 for a 14 inch pizza is going to be hard to sell in Sioux City! While the pizza was good, it was not worth the cost. Service was great and fast, Beer selection was the best part! I will be anxious to see how this keeps up in Sioux City!

I had excellent service from a manager who went above and beyond to help me celebrate my dad’s birthday! The staff here are great.

After several lunch visits with friends to this new location including opening day, my wife and I decided to have dinner last night and arrived at 5:45. It was pretty busy but we were seated right away. We decided what to order and waited and waited and waited. We waited 30 minutes then left, no server came to our table. We couldn’t find the manager so my wife told the hostess about the bad service. The hostess responded, «I’m sorry». After this I don’t know that I can go back there. The pizza is not the best in town but the Classic cheddar burger I had for lunch several times was awesome. The beer selection is top notch with over 100 beers available. But be prepared to wait.

Edit: removed another star because they do not do take-out pizza. What pizza place doesn’t do carry out? Ridiculous. Also had some bad service the other night. Waited 45 mins for two personal size 8″ cheese pizzas. The server only remembered to check on them after another server looked at us and reminded her. 5 stars for the food. The garlic cheese bread was delicious. Although the website shows 6 slices in the photo, it did only come with 4. The pizza was amazing. The best pizza I’ve had since I moved to the midwest. This is a pan-style pizza, not exactly a Chicago-style deep dish. It is a VERY good pan pizza though. Perfect pan crust, soft inside, yet crisp and buttery on the bottom. The sauce is good too, which is a rare thing to find in the midwest. The thin crust pizza was not as good as the thick crust. The sauce on the thin crust is sweet and I did not care for it. Also does not reheat as well as the thick. The only reason I took a star off was for the atmosphere. It is a surprisingly small restaurant, so it was pretty crowded and very very loud. They have a bar at the front, and several TVs which were unfortunately all playing sports. If you want to come here to have an actual conversation with your date, you won’t be able to because of the noise. If you want to go somewhere for great food and drinks and to watch sports with your friends you will love it here. Aside from that, this is a great place to eat and we will definitely return.

I know it’s new but the salad came without almonds and croutons and they were out of mushrooms? Get it together! We also sat by a roll up door and froze! A very loud atmosphere.
