Let me start by saying that as a general rule I don’t particularly care for fish, but their fish and chips had me raving about them to everyone that would listen. The atmosphere is awesome and the staff are always really friendly. This is a frequent destination for date night, because we love it here so much.

Lunch of siracha salmon wrap with potato sausage soup was an excellent blend of heat, sweet, comfort food. Portion size was generous and a great value for the price. I always try to eat local when traveling and this was a great choice. Not packed on a chilly Monday. Service was prompt.

Love this place, great food, great service and a huge beer selection. The interior is lovely, wood everything. The bathroom, although small is cute and clean. You have to try their Irish nachos. PoTAYto halves covered with yummy corned beef, cheese, and amazing horseradish. I have friends that insist on going here whenever they come to town.

Fish and chips again an again are great, highly recommended. Booths are set up for conversations or the rest is set up open, well done.

Has some good beer choices but menu is limited. Nothing is outstanding. Service is slow as it is usually busy.

My husband LOVES this place. I must admit, it looks super cool. The interior is worth checking out. And the girls wear little green skirts and knee-high boots, so I guess that’s appealing for some. It can get super dark in there. Don’t come just to drink. It’s expensive as hell to just come and drink. Food is good, but they have VERY few thins on the menu I like. Call me picky. I just don’t get why everything has to be drowned in horseradish. Salads are good. I hate it when they do their live music. They place isn’t built, acoustically, for that at all. We leave if there is live music. There is merchandise to buy. They got some cute shirts. Service is almost always bad. And if you make a reservation… hahaha! That’s funny… they never care about reservations. You’ll STILL want an hour to sit. And don’t expect your drink to be refilled or reordered w/out flagging someone down to do so. Service at the barn is good. Great location to eat then go to the Hard Rock or the various theater’s downtown.

Cute little place:) good burgers, good fries, yummy onion rings:) the leprechaun balls were disappointing, but overall great place! Girls/waitresses are dressed a lil… Hooters like;) so men will def enjoy the view! As a female, I’m cool with it, as long as they’re great staff! They totally are:)

The food was decent but didn’t wow me. Plus, the ONLY vegetarian option was a grilled cheese sandwich. Very good beer selection but I didn’t partake because it was only lunch time and still had a few more hours of work left.

I recommend the fish and chips, especially on Friday when they are«all you can eat!» Do insist on double cooking the fries if you like them nice and crisp… it’s totally worth it! The servers are friendly and the good comes out in a reasonable time. If the following kind of thing is important to you, take note: the waitresses are all young and pretty and wear short skirts. The outfits are not slutty, as at a Hooters or Tilted Kilt, etc, but they might be viewed as a little bit sexist. My date and I found no reason to complain, but some people might raise an eyebrow. Our overall impressions have been very positive for this place. Nice rustic atmosphere, nice menu well executed, with friendly service!

Was really disappointed the last time I ate there. I ordered the roast beef the roast beef seemed low quality very fatty and grisly gross.

Authentic looking Iris Pub with a friendly atmosphere. Not as happening as we had hoped for. The Fish & Chips were REALLYGOOD. Good beer selection and cold. The service was more to the slow side, but very friendly. Not a bad place to hang out and enjoy some good Irish food and beer.

Great pub atmosphere. Very laid back and the people there are down to earth. Bartenders were awesome and easy to make conversation with. Not a whole lot on tap beer but decent variety of what they did have and bottled. You will be likely to find something you like. $ 5 for a seasonal on tap, so not the cheapest bar around but they do have a coupon on first visit you can get a free drink. I would much rather go to a pub with a fun environment with a few more dollars for a drink than a bad dive bar. Good bar food, menu was traditional Irish food.

The corn beef and cabbage was out of this world’s so tender. Great Irish menu even had sausage and potato soup. A cool twist on wings too

Good basic food. Nothing special but it is good Dined lite tonight. Beef and barley soup has tons of barley and beef. Broth was okay Salad(blue cheese and ground up beef) was okay. Good size portion but mostly lettuce. Would have preferred steak strips versus the mince. Beef lacked any kick. Blue cheese was a nice contrast Service was very good

I like this place! They had great food, but the atmosphere lean more towards a restaurant so not the Irish Pub I had in mind. Sat at the bar and the bartenders were all courteous. My girlfriend and I grabbed a booth for dinner and it seemed like a great place to relax and eat. The menu is definitely some of the greats! Corn beef and cabbage was really good!

This town should thank the owner for opening this place because this part of town is like a ghost town. there is history in the town and in this pub from what Nick the head chef was telling me. good selection of beers on tap, and the inside décor had that old dark feeling to it. plenty of Homemade things on the menu like fresh burgers, fresh corn beef. they have specials every day except weekends. Good customer service… very hard workers… Kudos! keep up the good work.

We had Guinness stout chili for an appetizer. It was different, and tasty. The main courses were fish and chips, and shepherd’s pie. Fish and chips is always very good here. Sometimes a little greasy for you health nuts. :) Shepherds pie was pretty good. I added quite a bit of salt and pepper to liven it up. The menu has several unique items that aren’t available anywhere else locally.

Stumbled on this place while driving around looking for somewhere to eat and drink after work. I was in town for business so did not know much of what was around there. I had the fish n chips. This plate might have had over 1lb of fish on it. Granted it was haddock that didn’t matter because there was a load of it. The tartar was great as well and the french fries were hot and crispy. Great selection of beers on tap as well and the inside décor had that old dark feel to it that you should be used to inside irish pubs. I would definitely come back if I get the chance to.

We walked in at 8PM on Saturday and it was busy and the sign by the door said open seating. I prefer to be seated by the greeter, but perhaps this is part of the Irish ambiance. We jumped on a table as soon as a few guests left and it was promptly cleaned off. Our first drink orders seemed to take a little bit of time, but after that the server was quick and very pleasant. The appetizers were delicious. We had to try the battered bacon and Irish nachos. the battered bacon was every bit as amazing as it sounds, and if i die due to a heart attack tomorrow, it won’t be a surprise. When the time came to order the main dish it seemed that unfortunately they were sold out of about ¼ of the menu, hopefully that can be chalked up to growing pains and won’t be an issue in the future. The corned beef and cabbage was really good and I tried a bite of the Mccarthy melt as well and It was also very good. The beer prices seemed a little high at $ 5 for a 20 oz. draft. I personally was disappointed with the selection. The only authentic Irish beers were Guinness, Harp, and Smithwick’s which are available everywhere, so there was nothing really new to try there. All in all the experience was positive and I plan to return at least once and try out a different Irish dish.

Finally! Sioux City has an authentic Irish pub! This town has been in dire need of some fresh new places. McCarthy and Baileys fits that bill! The interior is beautiful and immediately it is apparent that much effort was put into creating an authentic, but beautiful pub experience! The owner Rick is a super nice guy and the food was top notch! We asked about the freshness of the fish and chips, etc and as Rick put it, the only thing frozen in that building is the ice cream! If you get a chance, please check this place out. this is exactly the type of business we need to support in this town! Thanks again Rick!
