I like the layout of this grocery store and in my experience the customer service has been helpful. With that said, I have bought numerous products that should have been taken off the shelf due to expiration. In other grocery stores I never felt the need to constantly check dates to avoid bringing old or spoiled food home with me. They gladly exchange your product. Unfortunately I just don’t have the extra time for product exchange every time I go grocery shopping.

The store is clean and organized however the citizens of this city are rude. I saw 2 young men stealing and eating food straight out of the candy bin then an older woman bulldoged to the front of the express line with more than 12 items. Then 2 other young men tried to jump the express line just in front of me. I was only in there for 10 minutes and all of this occurred. What happened to the Midwest I knew where people had morals & manners?

This is a big store, with a good selection that they are adding to all the time, but I rarely shop here any more because of the customer service. I lost my Fuel Saver card MONTHS ago, and today was the first time the cashier told me he could easily look up my account with my phone number, and gave me instructions on how to get a new card with the same account from customer service. Wish I would have gotten his name because it was by far the best service I have ever gotten here. Typically the cashiers are too busy discussing their social loves to even ask if I have a card. Almost every time I buy produce here it is rotten within 2 days. Love that they have a small organic and specialty section, and their new bulk aisle.

I am getting a little disappointed in this store. The last two times I have bought fresh fish there is stunk so bad and had an ammonia taste. I purchased fresh salmon one time and fresh cod the second time. Both had been on sale. Fresh fish does not smell very fishy or have an ammonia taste. It was OLD! Seems their fresh fish dept does not take pride in what they sell or they wouldnt put it on the display. It was gross. I took it back for a refund which they did refund my money. Come on Hy-Vee you can do better than that. What a nice store you have. I also thought they ground their own meat. Nope they take it out of the tubes and run it through their grinder to give it a different home made look. I asked the guy behind the counter and this is what he told me. They now get their meat from Tyson. No more Amana beef is what I am told. I will no longer buy meat or fish from that counter. There is one area of the store that has high marks from me is the organic and natural area. how nice it is to have those choices available. They are expensive though. I could only give 3 stars because of the fresh meat and fish area, yuk! I have to compliment them on their staff they have hired, all seem very polite.

I love this Hy-Vee! Customer service is always great, the food at the café is amazing, and the store always has a clean and bright atmosphere. Oh, don’t forget the Starbucks!

Great Organic food selection including Organic Whole Milk, Organic whole milk Yogurt, all kinds of Organic snacks as well as glutton free products, soy products and other special diet options, even whole milk Greek Yogurt(Greek Gods brand). Mostly Gerber baby food, some Earth’s Best. The size and selection of this Hy-Vee is comparable to Safeway in Washington state.
