I went to EWC because I was in a pinch before going on vacation and it was super easy to make an appointment online but unfortunately it was my first and most likely last time. Much like others said the environment is very sterile and like a doctors office with pop music playing. I prefer a more calming and relaxing environment when subjecting myself to pain.
As the waxer brought me in I like others was taken back when she just told me to strip down and hop on the table while she prepped. Not to mention it was cold and she didn’t give me anything to stay a little warm. Once she started waxing it felt very rushed with very little attention to detail, just globs of wax going on and coming off. As each spot was finished began the sales pitch of the product she was putting on after that I could buy. I had my legs, bikini line, eyebrows and lip done. The only area I was satisfied with was the bikini line, all the other areas had so many strays left over. I understand on the legs that’s rather normal due to growth rate but not for eyebrows and lip. The waxer also did very little to help ease the pain when I was clearly having a hard time, all she did was offer me a Popsicle stick to chew on (really?!).
After the waxing was complete I went to pay and was reminded of all the packages and told the waxer wanted to see me back on x date like it was a doctors office. I told them no thank you I will call to make one and they kept hounding me with reasons why I should book and points I get etc. when I reiterated that I was all set I felt like they were annoyed with me.
While this experience could have been much worse it was not great. If you are used to going to a spa for waxing where you are relaxed and given care and attention to detail don’t go here, if you just want a quick wax and a mediocre job this is a good place.

I stopped in to EWC after it was recommended by a friend. Booking an appointment online was easy. I had a complimentary brow wax and I was happy with the results. I will be returning.

4 stars for cleanliness, convenience, & price. –1 for aesthetics. I made the appointment online which was great, plus they’re open til 8 which is also really nice if you work later. This was not my first Brazilian. My waxer walked me to the room, it bare and basic much like at the doctors office. She then told me to undress from the waist down as she prepped, which I thought was strange. Even at the ob/​gyn they leave the room for you to change and give you a disposable sheet to cover yourself. Every other place I’ve gone to goes the extra step to make it homely and feel as comfortable as possible with towels etc. Not THAT big of a deal, it just would have been nice.
From the moment I stepped through the door I felt rushed. I was on the bed a minute after I walked in and she just jumped right into it. The music is not relaxing at all and the lights on the ceiling were BLINDING, I had to cover my face with my scarf because they were so harsh. The actual waxing process wasn’t too terrible. I had a LOT of leftover hair but I believe 60% off it was due to all my hair not being in the same growth stage, the other 40% was because of lack of attention. Wax, rip, wax, rip, wax, rip, done. I’m no expert but to me it felt like she just globbed on a lot at once to be done quicker, if she did a lot of little patches it probably would’ve been more thorough.
I’m not sure if it was because I had a late appointment (7:30) and the girls all wanted to go home, but even when I checked out I felt pressured to hurry up. She was ready to give me my total and didn’t explain any of the «wax passes» to me until she saw me reading and then asked if I was interested. Also, I wasn’t offered a complimentary wax for new guests (my assumption was because they wanted to leave) but I did get 50% off the Brazilian since it was my first time there so I guess it worked out.
I ended up getting the student Brazilian package ($ ¹⁴¹⁄₄) because the price was fantastic. I decided I’d give this place the benefit of the doubt and try a different girl and come at a different time of day. Being that I’m on a student budget, I’m willing to overlook my comfort and those other bells and whistles that I would get at a traditional spa for an affordable, decent wax.

I’ve had two eyebrow waxes here and been very happy with the results both times. Eyebrows look great and the redness from waxing goes away within an hour. Clearly they are using quality products because I’ve had waxing done elsewhere and been red for days. My fiancé is a bit obsessive about getting his eyebrows waxed. He has the unlimited wax pass and goes about every 2 weeks. He sees Sara and has nothing but great things to say about her. Both times I have been here the manager has been very welcoming and friendly. Place is clean and has an upscale look and feel. I look forward to returning.

I love european wax center! It was my first time going here and it was the best experience ever! I got a brazilian wax and the wax specialist stephanie made me feel very comfortable and explained everything before the process got started. I would definitely recommend stephanie and European wax center for any waxing needs!!!

This was my first time at the Simsbury location. I had a Brazilian wax with Stephanie and she was great! She was super friendly, quick, and the wax was entirely painless. She did rip off the wax a little slowly in some areas but she was focused and did a great job. I will definitely go back to her!

Stephanie did my first wax I ever got and she helped me through the whole process. She told me what she was going to do before she did it and we talked the entire time. Super sweet and and I have gone back twice now. Each time is better then the last. Thanks Stephanie!!! :)

So I am giving this business a 2 because the tech herself was very nice and descriptive when it came to getting my wax done and the packages they had. However, the woman sitting at the front desk (who I am assuming is a manager or owner) seemed pretty pushy. I understand they are a sales based business but it seemed a bit much. I was also a little offended when she asked me three times if I have ever been to a European Wax Center and I said no, she asked me if I was sure. It made it seem like she didn’t trust me and she thought I was lying. I got a complimentary eyebrow wax and another service. The tech said the redness would go away by that night, it didn’t. And I woke up completely broken out. Pimples all over the wax sites (and yes I did wash and exfoliate). This has never happened before and I wax all the time. I may have an allergy to their product so it may be no one’s fault. I will stick to my nail salon.

I was stopped while walking by the new EWC in Simsbury, CT. They are brand new and offered me a free wax. I took them up on the offer, as I needed my brows done.
Wow! Ok, first off, the staff is AWESOME! So friendly and welcoming. Sareliz did my eyebrows and I would HIGHLY recommend her! Not only was she gentle and she did an amazing job, she was extremely friendly and was explaining their waxing process to me. I loved it! No sticky/​honey/​tacky wax that they tear off with a sheet of cloth. This wax self hardens, it sticks to the hair and not to the skin and is so gentle when it’s pulled off. So much less painful!
I hope this place never closes! Sareliz got a client for life, just by stopping me while I was walking by. Thank you!!!

I had the best experience at this new, high-​class wax center! The technician was professional, explaining exactly what she was doing, her specific application and removal technique, and the differences in the company’s unique wax product. The result has been smooth and soft skin on all of my waxed areas! I love it so much that I’ll be purchasing one of the wax pass options and will definitely be returning to the European Wax Center in Simsbury– I’m hooked!

I saw the wax specialist Stephanie. I would recommend mend her. She was super nice and thorough, which I really appreciate. She’ll be who I’ll be seeing for now on. The manager here is also very nice and invested in making sure you enjoy your experience and fixing it if you didn’t. Customer service is really important to me. The customer service here was excellent.
