Mimis Steakhouse of Japan

So we got there a little late (45 minutes) before closing time. We felt a lil rushed but overall it was good. Service was attentive

We had a rookie chef. Messed up the volcano. Bathrooms were dirty. Not going back.

Fun atmosphere. Service was good, but a little slow. The sushi was good, and I would recommend the Mi Mi crunch. It had big pieces of tuna and salmon, if you are a true sushi lover, you would love this dish. We only had sushi from the sushi bar, none of the hibachi, but it was a good place to eat. I would go back and eat the Mi Mi crunch again. It is a fun date night restaurant.

They re did it and it’s a lot bigger now. The owner is almost always there she’s supper nice and funny. Never had an order messed up or over/​under cooked.

We were with a large group and I understand that as a server, it can be difficult to manage everyone’s bill. With that being said, our server was great guy. One of the people in our group ordered extra fried rice which was never served, so she kindly asked that this be removed from her bill. The manager came out and immediately took the chefs side of the argument and said that extra rice was served and he could not write this charge off her ticket. I do not think it crossed the manager’s mind that our large group brought Mimi’s almost $ 500 worth of business. He was extremely rude to the lady in our party and when one of the guys in our group walked up to talk to the manager and explain that this is no way to speak to a lady, he storms off in the back kitchen and we all begin to hear plates and glasses crashing! We were told that this is not the first time this manager has done this. As a bystander, this was extremely uncomfortable and pretty much ruined what I would consider a great dinner. We won’t be coming back here again.

Sushi is always fresh and they have a great selection of rolls… hibachi is priced well and an entertaining experience; enough for at least two meals. The staff always ensures I’m enjoying my food and time spent there. I’ve never had something I didn’t like and kids are always welcome and being kids.

Better than the one on woodruff road. Sushi is ok bud not bad. Izzy who is out cook 99% of the time is always entertaining and engaging.

Traditionally but good Japanese steakhouse food; however, the chefs here have great personality & that make the difference compared to others.

The food is always good! (But you have to double check your sushi orders. They never get them right.)

I have had horrible experiences at restaurants like this due to the cost to portion ratio. It has been over 10 years since I have stepped into an establishment like this and I must say that I will definitely be back again. Not only is the food portion and flavor on point, but the customer service and the personality of the staff is phenomenal. Stop by and get your grub on.
