I never thought I would say this, but there was just too much chocolate in my ice cream sundae. Seriously. I think I’m gonna freaking die. Ugh. Too much. Too. Much. Fudge. Chocolate chips. Have the diabetes now, I’m pretty sure…

It’s worth the trip to the outlets just to have a sundae here! To die for!!! Supreme ingredients making a decadent sundae!

Don’t get me wrong. I love chocolate & ice cream! I usually make a trip to the outlets once every 3 or 4 months. While there I usually stop in to Ghirardelli to try one of their ice cream/shake treats. Entering is probably my favorite part because they give you a mini piece of chocolate to immediately pull you into the store. Since this store is at an outlet mall, there are deals to be had with their bags of chocolate. Concerning the ice cream/shakes… it’s way too sweet! Every time I order one of their treats, I only make it through ¼ of it & end up tossing the rest. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the local ice cream options in Louisville, but Ghirardelli is just too sweet! With that being said, I go to the outlets so rarely that I’ll probably continue stopping in there each time to see if I can find that perfect menu item.

I came across this place because I was told it was the only place in the mall for gourmet coffee. I’m not a huge sweet fan but I have to say I was hooked after the first free chocolate sample. Along with the great sweets they have they also have very good tasting coffee.

After a couple hours of shopping at the new outlet stores, my daughter and I stopped in for a sweet treat at Ghiradelli. It is a combination of chocolate candy store and ice cream shop. We were given a small sample of delicious chocolate when we walked in the door. It looks like their entire inventory of chocolate candy is out in the middle of the store, so seating for the ice cream customers is very limited. There was a fairly long line to place our order, but it moved pretty quickly. We ordered our ice cream and were able to find two empty bar stools together before they called our number when our cones were ready. The ice cream was delicious in homemade waffle cones dipped in what else — chocolate! I recommend a stop in Ghiradelli, but you might have to take your ice cream to go if the place is very crowded.
