Good pastrami sandwiches and huge fries. A little pricey but a nice treat here and there.

I had a Rueben here. It was pretty good, with lot of sides and sauces to add. Their drink selection was pretty good too. This place had the weirdest mix of people eating there I ever saw though… Menu looked good — I’ll come back again, but probably wont get Reuben.

I went into The Hat tonight to have dinner, it was crowded and there was a mix-up in my order but Jorge R. took great care of me and made it right and made my dining experience excellent as usual. Thanks to everyone at The Hat and Jorge R.

Looooove The Hat! The service is always great, tables are always clean. Portions are always huge and the food is always fresh. I have no complaints!!! :) every time I go, it never disappoints. I got a double cheeseburger and it was super heavy when I grabbed it but oh so juicy! My boyfriend got the pastrami dip and he loved it like always. We got chili cheese fries, onion rings, and a large drink. Our son loves the chili cheese fries every time. And I’m in love with the onion rings :)

This place is great! The sandwiches are excellent, and the amount of fries and onion rings you get is insane! The chili cheese fries are the best I have ever had, and pretty much every other person is ordering them! You can’t go wrong eating at this place!

Was visiting my Brother in BORING Simi Valley. No Offense residents, but it ain’t Vegas. The Hat has arguably the Best Pastrami Dip sandwiches ! Plenty of Meat, Mustard & Pickles. The bread was Ok. I washed it down with an Orange Bang. Remember those ? If they opened 1 here, they would make a killing. Successful fast food joints from SoCal, are always is a hit in Vegas. In-N-Out, Fatburger & Tommy’s to name a few. I liked the old school look to this place also. Now if they only delivered …

I’ve tried their, pastrami sandwiches, and believe me they taste nothing like a real pastrami sandwich from New York. I’ve only eaten in this restaurant once, and that was the last time I’ll never go back!

What kills the sandwich is they use a big, cheap-o, no taste Frisco hot dog bun instead of a tasty deli roll. Also, the Pastrami is tough and chewy and tasteless. Nope, go to San Carlo in Chatsworth for a real Pastrami sandwich.

So there’s times where i am Simi Valley for random reasons and I always come across the hat . I finally went in and said why not. I ended up ordering the chili fries and the pastrami expecting it just to be like every other spot … Nope… I was wrong . The pastrami sandwich was definitely good I will give them that. Peppered just enough and stuffed just the way it’s supposed to. The real MVP is those chili cheese fries… Holy moly. That can be a meal itself Overall the place is really delicious and I’m excited to try out the other items. One thing I know for future reference is not to order the chili fries if I’m alone. It can literally feed a family of 5 no problem with how big it is. Touché. Looks like you got a fan in me.

For the simple meat-eater looking for an easy pastrami deli-esque meal. The Hat is one of my favorite places to get pastrami. Usually a few bucks less than other standalone establishments that serve pastrami, The Hat just takes the cake in simple, fast, and GOOD. Definitely not the best, but it’s a simple way to add whatever you want on your pastrami dip sandwich. Located right after you order is a row of condiments, from sweet mustard to horseradish, that you can put on your meal if desired. I also strongly recommend the pastrami chili cheese fries if you’re looking to indulge in something you may never want to get again, but will come back to order anyway.

I had the Chili dog and my friend had the double cheese burger and with the reviews on here my expectations were not met. The burger and the dog were both so bland.

Came here today for a quick lunch. This place was pretty much what I expected. Nothing out of the ordinary, but definitely better than most fast food spots. The burgers will grilled, and prepared fresh. The Chili fries were LARGE, I was pleasantly suprised since I was splitting them with my girlfriend. Free refills on drinks of course, and reasonable prices. Plenty of parking, good service and clean inside. If im in the area I would probably stop by again. No complaints.

The Hat is a LA staple at its various location. This is old school LA dinning at its best. Big fan of their signature Pastrami Dipped Sandwich. Prices can be a bit on the high side but it is worth every penny. Décor is old fashion, unique, and likely original; fixed wooden benches and tables are fun for kids and families alike. They have a drive up, but if you want the full experience eat inside. The counter ordering system is very efficient and also an experience. Thank you The Hat.

Every so often, you just crave hot pastrami. We stopped in recently on a drizzly evening after leaving the Discount Theater. Split the Pastrami Dip sandwich with an order of fries. That was plenty of food. The ordering line moves quickly, and the food comes out in due course. Worth waiting for the just-assembled fresh taste. The décor is dated, but people don’t come to linger. They come for the chow and move on down the road. Flavorful comfort food sandwiches.

We LOVE The Hat! It’s hard to try anything but our favorite — the pastrami dip! The pastrami dip ISAMAZING! Loaded with tender, spicy meat, mustard pickles… oh yum! And, the chili cheese fries are so delicious too and it can feed 4 – 6 people, it’s so huge! Usually, my Hunny and I share a pastrami dip and the fries. Now that our girls like it too, I share my dip with them. I’ve had their onion rings, avocado sandwich and their Orange Bang drink too! All are equally yummy! You can never go wrong! But, you do need to be hungry. These servings are not for the faint at heart! Love all the guys behind the counter too! They are friendly, helpful and amazing cooks!

I would suggest that when you place your order that you tell them to strain some of the juices from your Pastrami, so that its not so messy. I’ve eaten here several times and have had no issues. They still put out a good Pastrami sandwich, mustard and pickles only, my choice. The interior very well maintained and most of all very clean. Plenty of condiments for you to take a long with your order and its self-serve. The employees at the time of my visit was very friendly, so I would return to this location.

Great place for great tasting pastrami! The flavor is great and the quality will not leave you disappointed. The roast beef is another great option along with their gravy. The portions are just as good, as an order of fries or onion rings is enough to feed four to five people. Service is great as the staff will make sure your needs are satisfied. Parking is a non issue as you should be able to find parking in their lot.

The quality of the Pastrami at this place is not what it use to be. I am done eating at this place and the sign that reads«world famous Pastrami» is deceiving. Took Two of my friends to try th em out and they were just as disappointed as I was. The sandwiches were lacking in flavors and just did not taste like pastrami. The meat was dry and stringy. What a shame. I remember this place being packed on Friday night and this was not the case at all. Onlt the 3 of us and another couple. I just wonder what happened! ! Zero star indeed.

3 ½ star in some ways 4 Stars in others. Nice place with plenty of seating. Nice and clean with a friendly staff. Small menu with Burgers and Pastrami Dishes. Famous for their Pastrami Dipped Sandwiches $ 8.99ea. Good Sandwich with plenty of meat. Great French fries, And Onion rings. Be Careful because one order is a whole bag full. Enough to feed four people. Onion rings were crispy and tasty also. You’re getting ready to open one of these in Marietta near where I live. I’ll be giving it a try.

I came here for dinner because I was craving pastrami and I haven’t eaten at The Hat in years. There were a decent amount of patrons dining in when I arrived, which is a sign of a good restaurant. I remember it being really popular in high school/college, and that is still true today. I ordered the pastrami dip($ 9). The first thing that I noticed was how much pastrami they pack into the sandwich! There were juicy and flavorful pastrami pieces spilling out of each crevice. The bread was warm and soaked with that delicious au jous that they dip it in. The pastrami dip sandwich really filled me up and each bite was more delicious than the last. I also had some fries with my meal, but they weren’t anything special. I would recommend skipping the fries here. However, their pastrami chili cheese fries($ 12) is amazing. I didn’t get it this time because I wasn’t THAT hungry, but it is usually my go-to meal whenever I visit The Hat. If you want cheap, delicious, and filling food, then The Hat is the place to go!
