Studio 201 Productions

I found this studio to be amazing– the equipment is top of the line and constantly being added to in order to give every client what he/​she needs in order to achieve their best sound, and Dan, the sound engineer/​owner, is an absolute genius. Everybody puts such expectations on mastering their music, when really the important and difficult thing to do is exactly what Dan does– mixing and tweaking and then mastering. He turns okay songs into masterpieces– you can hear the difference on his website:
I’m only sharing this because it really amazed me.
On top of the excellent collection of equipment and the outstanding talent of Dan, the entire studio has a very comfortable, laid back and relaxed atmosphere. When you go in, you don’t feel at all awkward or out of place, and Dan and Sam (who deals with the computer aspect of the business, such as social media and purchasing equipment as well as billing and sales) feel like friends by the time you leave on your first visit. It may not seem important, but feeling comfortable discussing your music and the direction you want to take is a large part of creating great tracks, and obviously feeling comfortable inside the recording area is important, since you can hear how a musician is feeling when you listen to a song!
Overall, I would recommend this place to anybody who needs a studio for recording or someone who just needs mixing or mastering done on completed tracks, or even just a person with questions about what goes on in a studio or with questions about what equipment is best to purchase for a home studio or for live performance. Dan knows this industry like the back of his hand (and even helped create some of the top recording software in the industry, something I learned last night), and there is nobody I would trust more to help make me sound amazing. Studio 201 is the best studio I have ever been in and is worth my driving 3 – 4 hours round-​trip to continue going there! In my opinion, its the place any serious artist should be using. I had my EP Mixed and Mastered here. The whole experience surpassed any of my expectations (I’ve been in and out of a lot of studios over the years). Apart from this studio having some of the greatest equipment I’ve ever seen/​heard — it’s the personnel that makes Studio 201 so great. Dan is a master of what he does, he helped bring my songs to life in no time! Samantha was super helpful and does a great job on the social media side of things, you can clearly see they take a lot of pride in what they do.
If I could give this studio a six star rating, I would. I will definitely be back in the future and I’m already looking forward to it!

I did some drum tracks here and it was perfect. The place is SPOTLESS and completely comfortable. Dan got a great sound out of my drums and was really great at sharing ideas and feedback in a productive way. Samantha is courteous and helpful. Great rates, active on social media and overall just a real pleasure to work with. Dan’s been doing this for a long time and it shows.
