This park is so big and it is one of the nicest parks I have ever been to. All the greenery is nice to look at because they really take care of this park. This is a great park to take the family and maybe do a bbq or just to even hang out. I highly recommend this park to anybody!

What a beautiful park. First a foremost the landscaping and the lay out of this park. This is truly what a public park should look like. Such beauty surrounding the whole area. Quite and most of, you could relax. There are several covered picnic tables for your eating enjoyment festivities. I would strongly suggest you reserve a table. There are a few restrooms that are well maintained and most of all clean and free of graffiti. The park surrounds several well maintained homes throughout the heart of a area called wood ranch. So I would say that the residents do a great job in maintaining the area around the park. Just to also let you know alcohol is not allowed in this park. There are signs posted, however the park rangers patrol this park and they are armed, and will site you for any possession of an opened container. Just also to let you all know they also do concerts in the park here. What a nice setting and sunset, 2015 Unilocal Challenge.091/100

One of the things I have enjoyed most about California since moving here seven years ago is the abundance of wonderful public parks. I’ve lived many places in America but California excels in this area. Rancho Madera Park is a shining example. Inside the Wood Ranch area of Simi Valley(right next to Thousand Oaks) the park is well located and easily accessible. The area offers something for everyone: playground equipment for different ages of children, large softball and soccer fields, sand volleyball, basketball and tennis. There is also a large open grassy area perfect for flying kites or playing catch. There are covered picnic tables that are available to reserve for birthday parties or family reunions. I’d advise reserving them well in advance, however, because they are full almost every weekend. Unless a major event is taking place, there is always enough parking near the attractions. Overall, a fantastic park that I highly recommend!

This park is great! Clean and well taken care of. The basketball courts are nice, with water fountains and lights until ten. The tennis courts are better than some club courts I’ve seen in other places. All in all it’s worth the drive we take from TO to play basketball or tennis. Hasn’t been too crowded the last few times we’ve gone but we are usually there in the evening. Good stuff!

The go-to place in Simi to play basketball when Lemon park is crowded. 4 full courts, but i think one of them has lowered rims. Lights cut off at 10pm. Please leave your ego off the court when playing pick-up games! Let’s be real, this is Simi Valley.

This park is huge. One could describe it using many words; nice, clean, beautiful, save BUT the one I would like to used is borriiing. Everytime I come it’s empty with just a hangful of people and kids… thinking abiut it the onky wild life I’ve seen is domesticated dogs. Overall it has a very bland feel to it OR it could be just me since I’m a city boy. The park has basketball courts, tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, a huge open area for football or soccer, plenty of grilling areas with covered sitting and two play gyms for the kids… I’m sure there are many more parks around here maybe not as big but just as nice though I just hope they are a little more active.

Review for Sat, August 14th, 2010: What a beautiful park! First of, I have never been to Simi Valley before and I was invited to a baby shower out in the park. And coming from Santa Monica it was an hour drive from 405 to 101 and then on the way back home 118 back to 405 which was a much faster route. Blue skies with no pollution whatsoever. I took my kids with me too. They enjoyed a day out at the play area: obstacle courses of swings, slides, monkey bar, stairs and ladders to keep them busy for 2 hours. The weather was cool around 80s but breezy which was a plus. There was ample of parking spaces. The baby shower was held at the gazebo area with picnic tables underneath giant shades and restrooms just across the way. There are also trees all around for shades in that area. All in all a great place to be and not crowded during the weekend compared to the little parks in Santa Monica. Now I wished I lived out there :) in that side of town so peaceful and quiet.
