The food is what you expect and with that being said is good. However, I find it to be a huge dick move for the owner to be barking orders to the staff who he can’t even call by name because he hasn’t taken the time to learn them. He repeatedly did this in front of many customers. Oh and the best part is when you ask for a water cup… he sure as shit walks on over there and watches to make sure you are getting water as he tells you which button to push. Thank you asshat, I can read the word«water» just fine.

Terrible service. Cheap with bbq sauce. Avoid this place. Very rude to customers. The owner has zero respect for customers. He should not be in this business. Interrupts the employee while she’s taking my order. Zero class. Popeyes should close this location.

Food is fine but be prepared to wait 20 minutes for your food, and then maybe your order isn’t right. The Indian owner here does not give a shit about his patrons/managing a store/your time. Everyone waiting for their food was ready to basically RIOT.

Great food but awful service! Also out of sauces! It’s Friday evening and it’s packed and they have one cook and one cashier. Super slow and although the food is good it’s not good enough to wait this long. This ridiculous

Okay so firstly I would like to say: Popeyes is my FAVORITE place to eat! But not this location!!! The orders come out pretty slow & are sometimes messed up. They have been out of one of their original sauces for the past two weeks:(the blackened ranch) I’m a regular & it’s been upsetting. The restaurant is always cold & tvs in the restaurant are not on most days. There are two female Cashiers: whom every time I go spoil this for me the most! They could care less about your questions or needs. These two females are ONTHEIRPHONES the whole WELLOVERHALFHOUR that we were there! It is not two at a time: It is each time we visit one of them are idling around on their phones giggling about who knows. GIRLS: YOUAREATWORK: you are SUPPOSEDTOBEWORKING! Being on your phone is not working and the fact that neither of you try to do it at least in secrecy shows a lot: you blatantly sit there for our whole visits and sit on your phone. Bravo. Stop ignoring customers & get off your phone.

This location should either re-train all it’s employees or be shut down! When I arrived at Popeyes Chicken #3343, at 4:03pm, 12÷27÷15, and placed Order #157012, I believe I had a reasonable expectation they would get the simple order right. I merely ordered«6 Spicy Ranch Wings» and a «#44pcs PLATTER, with Cole Slaw and Mashed Potatoes.» The male employee in the back appeared to complete the order and put it on the warming shelf. I watched it sit there for several minutes, then he whistled for the female employee(who was replacing a large trash bag in the front of the restaurant, where customers would normally be eating. I was surprised that I saw two people in the kitchen and neither one could be bothered to bring me my order, considering there was no one else in the restaurant(and they don’t have a drive thru). Before I left, I looked the female cashier in the eye and asked, «Are you sure it’s all there?» She assured me the order was complete. When I got home, the mashed potatoes were missing. When I called to complain, an older male voice was rude and started yelling at me, as if the whole was my fault and I must have made a mistake. I tried to explain what happened and finally he said, «I don’t care what you do,» and he hung up on me. Tonight was a special night for my wife. She had mentioned the other day how much she likes Popeyes. I wanted to do something special for her. I drove from one side of the Simi Valley to the other, just to get her the Popeyes chicken. The last thing I expected was to deal with lazy employees, an incomplete order, and a very rude manager(or franchise owner). The chicken was OK, but I will never return to this place based on the horrendous customer experience I had this evening.

Never run out of anything, I mean really. Who’s doing the food order. Not sure if you know how to do a par level. This process help’s you no what you need to order, so that you never run out of anything. Your name is Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits so when you run out of condiments for your customers it doesn’t set well. Get on the phone, call another Popeye’s location and get what you need until your next delivery. I had a order for 20 family members for Chicken and Biscuits and they where out of butter and jelly. Whats sad is there is a smart and final right across the street. So yes I went across the street and bought the additional items that I needed to complete our meals. Service, well with only 2 employees, there was a wait. Not a good visit. Service is the key to your success.

I’m normally a huge fan of Popeyes I’ve even worked for them in my younger days(not this location) my friends and I went hear the other day and three out of the four of us got sick the fourth friend had shrimp the rest of us had chicken it’s a bother it seems like to the older gentleman who seems to always be there whenever you ask for something sauce a to go bag ect. Every time I go there he talks down to his staff and it’s very uncomfortable there are no napkins out for the public anywhere in the restaurant you have to ask everytime I think between cooking the chicken and customer service they need a little work

The quality of service depends on the time of day you come in I guess. Came in the evening and had great service and meals were freshly cooked. Came in after lunch time and service was not so great. Got the Rippin Chicken, they forgot the habanero dipping sauce. Isn’t that a main part of the menu item. Don’t bother trying to ask a menu question, apparently that kind of information is available to the counter help.

I love it here! The chicken is amazing! Love getting the spicy flavor with buffalo sauce. I like how they remodeled the place. Also wish they would charge less for the sauces and give it for free like other food chain places.

This Popeyes fried chicken seemed mediocre at best. I overheard the owner scolding the cashier about offering condiments to the customer. Only offer them if they asked for them he said. Boy does that sound cheap. Maybe that formula works for him but it certainly didn’t work for me. I absolutely will never come back to this restaurant.

I came here for one reason and one reason only. the SPICY3 Piece TENDERS. Same ones Riff Raff orders. I dunked these crispy satisfaction sticks in the BBQ ocean. Needless to say. i was more than happy. They delivered like mailmen on sundays during christmas season. Only reason this place gets the TreStar is because it felt like the broken sauna at Northridge 24 hr fitness. Someone needs to call the local air conditioner specialist. I might know a guy who knows a guy.

Popeye Butterfly shrimp and fish I ordered 2 butterfly shrimp and fries plus an order of fish with 3 pieces. When I got home the shrimp were not butterfly. How can they advertise butterfly shrimp when it is not? They were just a small shrimp with a large amount of crispy batter. Butterfly is when the shrimp is sliced and opened up and then battered. The fish was more like a fish strip but the fish inside was only about 1⁄8th inch thick and maybe an inch wide again with a large amount of batter. The shrimp was too spicy and I wasn’t sure what the fish tastes like because there was not enough fish to taste, just the batter. Also the girl they have working there has a hard time understanding you and visa versa. This cost me $ 16.10 for about $ 3.00 of product. Last time I ever go there again.

Popeye’s is pretty good fried chicken. Its tastey and the sides are my favorite of any fast food joint. My son and I have been coming here since we moved to Simi Valley, his favorite is the chicken strips combo with the mac n cheese. Shock of shocks, the strips are actually made from real chicken breast meat; nice touch. You serve yourself the beverages so refills are covered, very cool. Had an unfriendly experience yesterday. I ordered my kids usual MILD chicken strip combo, and my spicy 3 piece. His order wound up having having two pieces of the spicy. I showed the young lady at the counter, and she saw the mistake and was about to correct the boo-boo when the owner jumped in loudly telling me I was wrong in front of several customers, then he turned and walked away. The counter person just shrugged and looked uncomfortable. I went back to our table and said let’s go, when the owner showed up with more strips. He looked at the chicken I had complained about and admitted one was spicy. Then he disappeared into the back again. I guess years of patronage do not mean much to this business owner, this behavior will factor into future eating decisions, not good customer service.

Popeyes has the best chicken, no question, and this particular location is one of the better ones! I’ve been a regular here for a decade and recently they revamped the place so it’s really clean and nice inside. Staff is nice and I love the food. My reg is the chicken tenders with fries and a biscuit and extra BBQ sauces. If I feel like splurging on calories this is one of the best ways to go! Please never go anywhere. I heart you.

The chicken was dry and greasy. The biscuit was hard with a bad taste. The red beans and rice, well the rice tasted like instant rice and beans were just okay. The commercials are great but not the chicken, the rice or the biscuit!

I was extremely disappointed in the product from the Simi Valley Popeyes. The chicken was over cooked and the biscuits were hard. I have given this location several tries before I wrote this review. I want give up on Popeyes but, I do not recommend you eat at this location.

I was pondering where to have lunch, and realized I’d not yet hit this place in Simi Valley. I’d been to other Popeye’s, but not this one. I presumed it would be about the same as the others I’d been too, and I was mostly right. I saw a deal on the window, and it looked good. Two pieces of chicken, and a biscuit for a mere $ 2.50. There was a minimum debit card order thing, so they charged me .50 to cover that. So, a meal for $ 3 isn’t too bad. I only waited a few moments for my chicken to come out. I’ll admit, the chicken was pretty good, but there was a lot of batter on each piece. To me it seemed a tad over-battered compared to other fried chicken I’ve had. But it was kinda tangy.(I ordered the spicy chicken) So it had that going for it. The bathroom has kinda an interesting twist as well. There’s an airlock-style entryway into the bathrooms. Open a door to go in, and then you’ve got the two closed restrooms to use.(one for the gents, the other for the dames) Once that outer door shuts, it goes pitch black. There are zero lights in the airlock/entryway. I had to open it to read the signs for fear of entering the wrong restroom. I had to open the outer door a second time to locate the light switch inside the gent’s room. So, if your the kind of person who enjoys loads of crispy batter on your fried chicken, and also loves stumbling around in the dark to find a bathroom, then I would highly recommend this place, as it seems right up your alley. But, the prices are ridiculously cheap also. So, there’s that.
