Perma Plaque

My diploma was finally returned in today’s mail after I tried to get it back for six months.

THE BUSINESS NO LONGER EXISTS
The owner, Mr. Alterman died in 2013. I checked with the local chamber of commerce and was advised that the business did not continue to the best of their knowledge.
DO NOT SEND PLAQUES OR MONEY TO PERMA PLAQUE
There are some negaive BBB reviews for the company, but they appear to be related to delivery etc that occured in the same timeframe as his death.
I had a certificate done by him 24 years ago and it was well done. I wanted to have my son’s diploma done recently and this is what I found.

A friend of mine is in the Rotary Club and said a fellow member did awards. I met Mr. Alterman who owns Perma Plaque and gave him an order for awards for company event I was in charge of. He said the order would be ready to pick up in two days. I went to pick up the order and he said he never received the products from his supplier because the UPS label has fallen off the box. He told me he would have the order ready the next day. I came back the next day and he tells me he never received the products because they were shipped to the wrong address. I am getting quite frustrated now and sensing a lot of BS. He said to give him one more day. I said I would call first before wasting time driving to Perma Plaque again. I called the next day to confirm and left four voice messages, six text messages and three emails. I have never heard from him since.
I went to another trophy shop in Simi Valley and had my order the next day. Mr. Alterman is not only a flake but a compulsive liar. He is incapable of running a company. With him at the helm of Perma Plaque, I’m sure they are only a few short steps away from the corporate graveyard.
