Love this coffee bean! The lines usually aren’t too long and the staff members are always friendly. Be sure to try the red velvet hot cocoa– it is AMAZING. Its a holiday drink, but sometimes sticks around until late January if you’re lucky. There is plenty of sitting space inside and I haven’t had any problems with the wifi. It does get REALLY cold inside sometimes, so if you’re planning on staying for a long time to study or do work, be sure to bring a jacket. I’ve spent so many days here tutoring and studying for AP tests in high school, as well as working remotely years later. The wifi is able to get to most of the tables outside as well!

By far my favorite CBTL location in Ventura County. This store’s detail to service with a smile is what I love! Always clean & stocked even when the line is out the door. And a whole lot faster service even when crowded. I don’t have to speak some fancy coffee lingo to them either! They get it when I tell them I need that Ice Blended supercharged! CBTL Tapo Canyon has converted me from that«other» chain for good! Keep up the great work!!!

It’s a Coffee Bean – you come here for the coffee. Service is average to better-than-average. Tables are usually occupied by school kids with books and computers. There’s a few lounge chairs and some outside tables.

The customer service at this coffee bean is impeccable. I was assisted by Quincy, Kimberley, and Adrian I believe was their names. They kept the location clean(bathroom and dining areas) they made eye contact when ordering and picking up the drinks and had excellent service in general. They made the experience one to return to. I’m not a regular at this location. But I would suggest that if you are in the area to visit. Would return again

This location is quick even when busy. The staff are pleasant and make the drinks properly. I’ve had the iced lattes both flavored and plain. The ice is the small pellet kind instead of normal cubed style. The breakfast sandwich I had was good but could have been heated a tad bit longer since it was kinda cold in the middle. They have free wifi and plenty of inside and outside seating. It’s located next to love organic spa and salon and GameStop.

For some reason, the plain iced tea tastes weird. Or is it just me & my allergies? I like the fact that they have flavored teas, which I need to come back & try. The ambiance is awesome. They just need more electrical outlets.

I love this location. The staff is usually pleasant and my order is always perfect. The pastry case is very fresh. I love the breakfast bar. Lots of room inside to sit and study or have a conversation. Outside there’s a pretty waterfall and shade outside to sit in. My favorite place in Simi to come and grab a iced drink.

Brianna(sp?) knows how to make my drink perfectly! I can always tell when she prepared it by how awesome it is. Also the blonde girl(not sure her name, sorry) is always so friendly at the register! She was working this morning when I got my coffee. I felt rude because I was on the phone while I ordered but I still notice her great customer service. Keep it up you guys.

I have always loved Coffee Bean, but this location lacks customer service. And the consistency of the drinks is not there. Moved back to Starbucks…

Awesome customer service by Brittany! My mom and I were craving coffee and happened to get there right as they closed. And Brittany stayed open and served us a fresh pot of coffee and even made my drink sweeter than I originally received it. She was so sweet and attentive. And went out of her way to help us. Awesome service, will return just because I had an amazing experience due to Brittany!

I have been a Coffee Bean lover for years however I am very disappointed with this place. I’ve gone a few times and each time the coffee was horrible. The girls seem to be too busy chit chatting to focus on making a great cup of coffee. I have experienced the following: –watered down coffee… every time. –a burnt brownie(they offered to heat it and burned it) –when I thanked the barista, perhaps she didn’t hear me as she kept saying«um You’re welcome!» with this pissy look on her face until I thanked her again, then she started laughing. Very immature and strange. There is a sign that says they will remake the coffee if you are not happy but I don’t have time to wait for another one and don’t want to hold up other people still trying to get their first cup. For the most part all they do is make coffee, I expect them to be great at it. Especially at $ 5.00 a cup.

I think the quality of this particular Coffee Bean has gone down a lot lately. When I worked here about 7 years ago, the emphasis was always on making the drink correctly and maintaining a clean store. The last three times I’ve come here, the employees made my drink wrong and then tried to talk their way out of it. I used to work here and I know exactly how the drink is supposed to be made. Don’t BS me. One employee tried to tell me that the ice blended drinks are«supposed to be chunky» if you order them with half powder. No. Wrong. Another employee tried to tell me that they can’t make green tea strong, and it’s «supposed to be clear.» No. Wrong. Another tried to tell me that it’s okay to re-steam milk two times when I asked her about it. No. Never okay to re-steam milk. Gross. More recently, I witnessed a man fall and hit his chin. Blood EVERYWHERE. He slipped on a puddle right in front of the place where you get cream/sugar(which is NEVER cleaned or stocked — not acceptable when I worked there). Anyways, this man falls and smashes his chin. Badly. Needed stitches. Two female employees looked at him, then turned around and kept doing what they were doing(one was making a drink and one was texting). They called out his drink as if nothing had just happened. Myself and another customer ran over to see if he was okay. He wasn’t. After he left to go to the hospital, the two female employees took their sweet time coming to clean up the blood. Once one finally did, she used a wet washcloth. No soap. Just a wet washcloth. There are certain procedures to cleaning up blood in a place where food is sold, and that’s not it. Then she threw the bloody washcloth in THESINK. If that isn’t a health code violation, I don’t know what is. Absolutely horrible. I wouldn’t be surprised if he sues, especially considering it was the store’s fault that he slipped in the first place. To sum it up — I shouldn’t have to preface my order with«I used to work here» to get them to make it correctly. Follow the rules, clean the store, and stop being lazy. There are a few good employees, but I wish it wasn’t such hit or miss.

I have been waiting to write a review on this particular coffee bean. I have had bad experiences and this is the final straw. I am going to complain to corporate. I am an everyday coffee drinker and I try to not drink Starbucks so coffee bean is my substitute. I came here last week and there is an employee with a short bob cut. I am studying and she comes in with a dodger blue shirt and starts lecturing the employees and keeps repeating to them… everything must be clean and finished by tomorrow morning. She is soo upset for who knows what and gets a rag and starts cleaning the chairs in her everyday clothes. I thought that was so unprofessional. On her day off she is going to go to work to criticize.(It was not cute looking at asscrack while she was on the floor with a rag). She was so disrespectful to the employees working. One even looked 8 months pregnant. She looked for the poor pregnant women on her brake to tell her what she wanted done for the next morning. The whole situation rubbed me the wrong way. Yesterday I was harassed by a customer, who I assume was a regular because she knew everyone’s name. The customer was upset at me because she told another customer to leave because he was listening to beats of music(very low volume by the way)! I told the gentalman it didn’t bother me… and I am the one studying for my mcat. This lady was pissed off at me and walked to my table yelling at me. The employees didn’t care, they just watched. I told the lady if she didn’t like noise… there is a nice quiet library accross the street. In all, unprofessional and one tip… stop talking to eachothet and make the drinks people order.

I do enjoy a coffee shop that understands English. It’s comforting to walk in, ask for a large iced coffee, and not have to conjugate your sentence to get a damned large iced coffee. Planning on a pretty unhealthy dinner at trivia later on, I figured a light lunch would be best. I settled upon Pavilions for a package of vegetable snacks, and an iced coffee from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Nice, light, refreshing. I even used that gift card I found in the parking lot a few months back.(True Story) I entered with my Pavilion’s bag, and noticed the wooden interior of the place was fairly clean. People sat around looking at their various devices that tethered them to the interwebs. Thankfully, they’ve got an internet code up on their TV of information so I can insert my own digital leash and check all of my various online things that I ABSOLUTELYNEED to check. I asked for a large iced coffee, and paid for it.($ 3.15) Girl behind the register asked if I wanted room for cream. I nodded, briefly pondering pouring my own cream was really worth the 30 cent difference in price at Starbucks. I got my large coffee,(not quite as large as the ‘large-large’ at the aforementioned coffee tyrant) and then walked over to the ‘fixins’ bar, where they had various pitchers, bottles, powders and packets and miscellaneous other accouterments for enhancing ones coffee beverage. I poured some half and half into my iced coffee, and sat down to munch on veggies, drink iced coffee and tap on Springfield residents.

This is odd, I wrote this review more than two years ago. Today, I received a «compliment» from a CBTL employee saying I am a miserable person. I love Unilocal.I depend upon it to find great places. I participate by posting honest reviews. While I have only written about a dozen reviews, all were positive except this one. My response to this complimentary employee… if you can’t learn from a mistake or handle the truth then move on. What is really interesting, is that I am a CBTL fan and frequently visit other CBTL locations. My hope is that the service at this particular Simi Valley CBTL has improved. However, I have kept my word and never returned. So hopefully, their regular customers can write lovely high-rated reviews. Good luck.
