First of all, it’s 2016, right? The front door of this place is an actual time portal, to days of yore. Specifically, 1983. The décor has obviously not changed EVEREVER since 1983. There are silk plants, swaths of cheap fabric sort of laid out on tables(??) and at least one portrait of a shiny faced, over-blushed lady with 1983 glasses on her face. If none of this is true, then it’s because I left that place with the impression of everything I just described, which is basically the same thing. Anyway, the front staff was courteous which was nice. But here’s where it gets iffy. I was first brought back to a small room behind a curtain for some preliminary eye testing, and was presented with circa 1983, yellowed plastic equipment. The guy held it up to my face and it made some viewmaster type noises; he set it down and wrote things down on a chart. Then I was brought back to the official doctor’s exam room, where I was subjected to more of the same(real or imagined) décor. The doctor came in and seemed friendly enough. As you might guess, everything about her person was circa 1983. Then came some small talk, which was the kicker for me. We discussed a bit about how we loved the Kitsap area for its small town feel. I mentioned having moved here from the Seattle side and here’s what she said, «I don’t like it over there, too many different cultures, it’s kind of scary.» She waited a moment for an agreeable reaction, but was met with stony silence. And she smelled yucky. Not going back.

My appointment was at 10 this morning. I arrived at 945 assuming since I was a new client that I would need to fill out paper work. I did 95% of my appointment was spent waiting. I didn’t get out of the office until close to 12! I had a toddler who was starving and they just took their sweet time. I had to ask a few times what was going on. My first trip there will be my last as well! I will find a new doctor.

I’ve had multiple experiences here, which were mostly decent until my last experience(in March). I had ordered glasses and was told they would be ready for pick-up in two weeks. Two weeks goes by and I get a phone call and was told they had broken my frames and it would be another week or so. A little over a week goes by and I hear nothing so I call them. They apologized because they had thought someone called to inform me that they had broken my frames again, but they did not. So, I had to wait another week or so. I’m not positive on how long it took, but I remember it being about a month since I had purchased my glasses. Unfortunately, I had moved during this time and tried to plan the pick-up for my glasses prior to my departure and was unable to pick them up so because of the horrible experience I wanted the company to send my glasses for free(a $ 10 fee)… I had called and talked to someone and they had told me that even though I had waited so long(too long) for my glasses that I would still have to pay the $ 10 shipping fee. I was furious. I asked to talk to the owner, who I was told was busy. Luckily shortly after I received a phone call saying they would cover the $ 10 fee and ship the glasses to me. Although that was a nice gesture, I would have liked a phone call letting me know they had shipped my glasses so I wouldn’t have to be concerned about when I would get them and if they had broken for a third time. Next time I’ll go elsewhere.
