I rent a studio. I’ve lived here for about seven months. I haven’t had any issues. No pests in my unit whatsoever. I personally have not had any issues with crime and there is very little crime around here period. I think a couple of cars were broken into earlier in the year, but that was probably because people left valuables in them. I park out back and haven’t had any issues. The floors have concrete slabs between them so you don’t really hear anyone above or below you. However, you will hear your neighbors next to you, though it’s not as bad as I have experienced in some other apartments. This building was built in the 50s so it’s not exactly a luxury building. The laundry room is in the basement, which is not convenient. The demographics are very mixed(age, «race,» income, education, personality etc.). There is a mix of owners and renters. From what I can tell, the owners don’t rent to people who get housing vouchers, as I haven’t seen very many vulgar people around here. The people are reasonably friendly, though I don’t really socialize with anyone. There is no social pressure here and people will leave you alone if you don’t want to be bothered. A lot of what you will get just depends on how well the particular condo was cared for before you move into it. I told the owner I would not move in unless I could speak with the then-current tenant. Although this is a good building, I would not rent(or buy) without doing the same. You never know what you are getting yourself into. I have to move out of state for work in a few months. I am somewhat disappointed because I like it here.

Park Sutton is a fantastic value for the community. This is a clean, safe, quiet, well-kept older building in a great location, ½ mile or so from the metro. Neighbors, staff, and management are very cordial and respectful. It sits right in front of the train tracks so the noise of the train is definitely an element of living here. However, such is life in a vibrant, urban community. Over the past year, they have replaced all of the windows in the building which has made an enormous difference in the noise level from the train. Park Sutton offers a pool, ample parking, plus easy access to 495 and downtown Silver Spring. The units may not but super swanky but they are spacious and bright with ample windows, closets, and hardwood floors. I would definitely recommend living here.
