New ownership in the past year. Decent service from the new arrivals(and the same friendly service from the couple of employees who stuck around) but the food has gone down a couple of notches. Much less flavor. I’ve tried them three times since the ownership switch and have to say I think it’s time to move on.

I was pleasantly surprised by the steamed dumplings and the service. I will certainly return in the future.

Ew. Not impressed with this place. Can’t believe it has such high reviews! Food did not taste fresh, very oily and bland. Have ordered from this place at least 8 times… Each a disappointment. I know Chinese food is not typically known for its fresh veggies, but the food was the absolute opposite of healthy. Tried their sushi for a lighter option. Yuck, just yuck. Not fresh; mushy and tasteless. This place felt like a heart attack. Obvi won’t be returning.

In my journey to determine which of the myriad of Chinese Delivery restaurants in Silver Spring is worth keeping in my food file(yes I have an actual physical folder with whatever delivery menus I encounter) I’ll order from a restaurant I haven’t tried yet whenever a random chinese food craving hits. I am happy to say that Palais De Lune is a keeper(If they deliver to you… as I think they have a 2 mile delivery radius) I 1st viewed this tiny semi-hidden restaurant a couple months back after taking a wrong turn on Rock Creek Parkway and decided to just drive and see what was at the end… well this is the answer. You drive through a neighborhood and come out next to a little shopping plaza that has this restaurant in it. I’ve not been to the restaurant itself but it has been around a looong time(a good sign). Ordered on a wednesday night at 9pm… delivery took 30min. Anyhoo…1st time ordering I always start with the basics… if they can’t get those right there is no reason to come back for more. Ordered some appetizers + 2 combination plates combos which allow you to sample some different things without ordering whole dinner portions. Steamed Dumplings: Definitely homemade, wrapper on the thicker side but not too thick filled with porky deliciousness. Medium size but you get 8 of them. Thumbs up… my wife aka the dumpling queen will love these Spring Rolls: A little on the tiny side. Rolled tight, crisp and hot. Filling was good but the size didn’t allow for much. Liked them but would love them if they were larger. BBQ Ribs: Succulent and slightly crispy. Not drenched with sauce(a sign a place doesn’t take their time and cheats by drowning them) and very tender. Some of the best delivery ribs I have had. Szechuan Beef: Ingredients are more in strip form than Chunk(which I prefer as it allows for more tender beef and flavorful bite) but well prepared. Not greasy but their hot is what’d you expect to be tamed down a bit for american palettes… if you want it spicy then you gotta go specify real hot. Egg Drop Soup: One of the best I have had delivered… you’d be amazed how many places don’t get this most basic item right. Flavorful chicken stock clear with a good amount of egg(no clumps) and just the right amount of corn starch added to make it velvet on the tongue. The fried wonton noodles are fresh — not stale or prepackaged(another thing places skimp on so they get a bonus point). Wonton Soup — Not the greatest broth… was a little cloudy(mark of good Wonton soup is a clear broth), Wontons were flavorful but didn’t have alot of filling. I’ve had better but it isn’t bad. Fried Rice: Flavorful… but all fried rice should be at least that. Not sure what type of rice they use but its a long grain that breaks. IMO the best fried rice is one made with rice kernels that remain whole and doesn’t clump up. As rice varies from restaurant to restaurant it all depends on what you like. The type that came in the combos doesn’t have any fancy added ingredients so I’ll have to order a real portion next time. All in all… I was impressed… I look forward to sampling the rest of their menu.

Finally, an excellent Szechuan chicken, equal parts carrots and celery with lots of white meat shreds. If it wasn’t for the searing spice heat I would’ve been perfectly happy with it. Next time I’ll dial it back to mild spice. The menu shows only one pepper with the dish name in red text. Made my nose run but make me hickup. Had my wife pick it up on the way home on a whim. never eaten here before and looking forward to trying more dishes. My new strategy is to try all the Chinese restaurants near synagogues.

Inexpensive and well-made Chinese food. I have not been disappointed with any of the dishes I’ve ordered from them. Really delicious Moo-Shu pork, Kung-Pao chicken, won-ton soup, an, believe it or not, Pad Thai. Big portions and they deliver!

Basic chinese… I ordered the duck, which I will never do in American chinese places again. It was basically like overcooked meat with bone. Maybe 90% bone and the rest was inedible, what a waste. The crab rangoon was really good though.

This place has been my go to Chinese restaurant for the last 8 years and it really is quite good and inexpensive. Their sushi and«Thai» food is not great, but they have great Chinese american classic tofus and meats. My favorite dish to get is their Hunan bean curd and their tofu vegetable soup.

The food here is consistently pretty good. However, a few weeks ago, I ordered from Palais De Lune, and the delivery guy told me that I shouldn’t have used their online system to order our food. He said it makes him lose money. I’m sorry that he’s concerned about losing money, but it is not up to me or any other customer to fix this problem. The link to the online ordering portal is on their website, and they need to take the system down instead of making these kinds of requests to their customers.

The food is BAD!!! I went to go get some food general tso and lo mein and when j got it home it was disgusting! I remember seeing a sign in front of the restaurant saying they were hiring new cook! I was super mad since I live 20 – 30 minutes away and arrived home to a nasty dinner. I called and they offered me a free meal but I said no it literally tasted like expired ketchup on hard chicken! Do not get!!!

We got pad Thai. One vegetable and one chicken. They sent shrimp instead of the vegetable. They said I would get a free sushi roll, but it didn’t come with the delivery. The miso soup was very very watered done. This will be our last order from here. Very disappointed in the whole experience.

First time ordering from this restaurant, using Grubhub. The food was late for the delivery time given by Grubhub, I had Grubhub check on the delivery, and Palais said it would be another 15 – 20 minutes from the time the restaurant told Grubhub originally. No big deal(we ordered at 5:28, food delivered at 7pm). Food arrives, my teenage daughter goes to the apartment building entrance and the delivery guy is rude to her. He stated that we should have ordered from somewhere closer. First, we ordered through Grubhub sooo you are within our ordering perimeter(1.1 miles driving distance from my complex to be exact). Second, there was absolutely no reason to be rude– you were in the wrong not us. Finally, the food was okay not worth the side of crappy customer service. Silver Spring has so many choices for Asian food-I would and will choose another.

My girlfriend and I love this place. We order on average once or twice a week and their level of customer service is well above par. The food is great, they deliver quickly and they are always willing to take special orders. In short, Love this place!

This place is fantastic! Every single menu item is delicious, and should be eaten again and again and again. Definitely try the moo goo gai pan & shrimp toast!

What can I say? Good standard take out Chinese. The spring rolls are crispy, the hot and sour soup is sour and hot, and the general tso’s chicken was tsoey. Whenever my inner fat guy can barely talk himself off the couch I order from Palais. This makes my outer fat guy very happy.

The first time I ordered from here was great. Food was amazing, delivery was timely(there was a delay but not the driver’s fault.) Everything was great. That was four days ago. I tried to order another delivery order just like I did before. Same site, same order, same address. Forty minutes pass and while the site sent me a confirmation, I had not heard anything else. I figured I’d call to make sure everything had gone through okay. I was on the phone for 15 minutes with them as they ran back and forth, before finally telling me that the order never went through. Then they start to take the order down again and leave me on hold for another ten minutes. Finally comes back and tells me I live too far away to deliver(apparently 3.5 miles is right outside their limit). I mention that they delivered to me only a few days ago and the manager comes on the phone. She then tells me that they are«too busy» to deliver to me because I’m «too far away,» despite having delivered with literally no mentions of distance concerns four days ago, and then says«sorry» and hangs up the phone. No offer to have me pick it up, nothing. As great as the food was, I’m not sure I’m willing to go through that saga ever again, even for just picking it up. Such a bummer.

Best cheapo asian food in the area. Delivery can take forever, so I recommend take out! The Basil Shrimp is amazing.

Found this place one day by mistake, so had lunch. They were pretty busy with carry out orders, so that was a good sign. Very good food and value. It’s in the back of nowhere, but once you find it, you’ll come back. My two little guys love the chicken wings with fries. It’s big, so they share it. The wife and I enjoy the Asian favorites. The hot and sour soup is delicious. Favorite dish is the eggplant with garlic sauce.

Great food and very reasonable. Their Japanese rolls are actually excellent, wrapped with just adequate rice. I love their eel roll.

I LOVE this place! One of the few places that offers Pad Thai and it’s great! Steaming fresh out the kitchen with great flavor(ask for sauces to make it even better). The portions are HUGE for such a low price it’s amazing. This is the only place I’ve seen with a Six Happiness Platter appetizer which is 12 different pieces of 6 delicious types of meat, amazing. Complimentary tea is soothing and the waiter is such a cool guy. Always on point. Multiple trips later… Such a bang for your buck here… $ 5 for 15pc fried shrimp with a large portion of rice. Amazing food, amazing price. My friend also got all three meats and veggies with his Pad Thai for the exact same price of 9.95!!!
