During my «Welcome to Wheaton» excursion, I decided to see what the other side of Costco offers. I’ve never shopped at NY&C before & while I passing by to another store, the multiple sale signs & window displays grabbed my attention. The charismatic Gloria was my Salesperson, who helpful & friendly while I was manikin shopping… I like seeing the stylists/dresser creative thoughts come to life Per Se. I caught myself back stepping through the Even Mendes collection/section of the neighboring space of the store, so that was cool being able to peruse 2 different wardrobe elements simultaneously. All the displays, tables, & sections was in neat order, the sales were crazy with buy 1, get 3 free(mostly fall/winter items) & a hip jewelry section. Various sizes, wide selection of casual, work & fun wear. Gloria provided her stylish suggestions & I walked away(paying of course) with a navy blue inset skirt & an awesome sale price. May give NY&C another try down the road.

There’s a sales associate named, James, who is the rudest I’ve experienced in a long while. His attitude was SO stank, I was honestly tempted to walk out of the store. Lucky for them, they were having a sale that I just couldn’t resist. Being in customer service myself, I know there are days where you wish everyone would just stay the hell home. However, let’s be realistic. If you didn’t feel like coming to work/don’t like your job, suck it up until you can rectify YOUR problem. The last person who should give a shit about your bad day is the consumer. Now while I can say all this, I can also say that anyone who knows me knows that I am far from Susie Cream-cheese(yes, she does exist… and we’re not friends!) However, when it comes to my job, I am very empathetic(…until they get on my damn nerves w/idiotic questions/remarks, but that’s a different post). When I ask you a simple question like, «Do you know how long this sale is going on for?», and you answer me with, «Oh, I don’t know» without following up w/a, «let me see if I can find out»…I have a problem w/that. It could be that as a child, my Mom wouldn’t let me give, «I don’t know» as an answer. I’d better come up w/something better than that, and fast!!! To this day, it just comes off as a ‘go away’ It’s a lazy-ass answer that has no effort, or concern behind it. In my humble opinion, in the customer service industry that answer has no place. Another incident w/James was when he was leaning on one of the sale racks talking to a co-worker. Now mind you, the store is open for business, you’re having a sale, people are shopping. Why are you leaning on a sale rack talking to a co-worker as if you’re on a break, Sir??? Well unfortunately for James, I had to interrupt his cute little conversation b/c he happened to be leaning on something I wanted to look at. So I go over and start browsing through the rack he’s leaning on RIGHTINFRONTOFHIM… do you think this bastard even acted as if he was gonna move? It wasn’t until I said, «Excuse me. Sorry», that he gives me enough attitude to take to an episode of Ru Paul’s Drag Race(…ANDWIN), walks his misery-loves-company ass around to the other side of the rack to continue talking to his co-worker. Now, again, anyone who knows me knows that I’m known for my attitude. Not proud of it by any means, but it’s the unfortunate truth. However, I refused to let myself stoop to his level. Especially since I had so many cute sale items in hand. What did I do instead? Well thanks for asking. I simply asked an associate for his name, and their corporate office info. Let’s see how long James keeps his nasty demeaner ;-) Aside from James and his zest for life *eye roll*, the store was well put together and clean.

If you are looking for cute work clothes, this is the store to come to. The staff is friendly and the store is clean. This location is stocked fairly well, although during their huge sales, only the larger sizes are available(and clothes do run a little larger than normal here). Good selection of tops, pants, skirts, suites, and jackets at reasonable prices. If you are in the mood to flip through the racks, check out their clearance section… you might be able to score some good deals. I love how they offer pants in petite, regular, and tall… so I always have to buy pants(jeans and dressy) here to avoid getting them altered. They have some cute accessories, but I rarely pay attention to them when I shop here. I’d sign up to be a NY& Co Rewards member if I were you… get notified about their deals(in stores and online) and get discount coupons via email. I never shop here without bringing in a coupon! Shoot, $ 70 off of $ 150(sometimes even $ 100 off a $ 200 purchase?! You don’t have to tell me twice!
