Dr. Demarco is wonderful, as well as her staff! I am beyond satisfied with my teeth. Dr. Demarco and her staff were very caring and attentive to my needs. The technicians are experienced. I emphasized that I needed my braces off by a certain time due to the fact that I was relocating and Dr. Demarco did everything in her power to ensure that it happened. It’s easy to make appointments and the staff is easy to talk to. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because initially I was working with Dr. tilkin and I felt that she wasn’t as caring or concerned as Dr. Demarco. I do recommend requesting to work with Dr. Demarco!

Large Orthodontic practice in Silver Spring. Patient is my 12-year old daughter. Overall, it’s a bit of a factory, and NOT as impressive as their reputation. (1) Dr. Tilkin was our provider. We relocated to the DC area in the middle of a Phase 1 treatment and we didn’t get any discount — basically, they were expensive to start, and wouldn’t recognize previous work. Phase 1 was, I think, about $ 2,400(compared to $ 1,800 charged by my previously Orthodonist in Calif who is an Invisilign expert). (2) Like all orthodonists, most of the Phase 1 work is done by technicians, so we saw little of Dr. Tilkin. We saw her mosty towards the end, when she advised that my daughter needed to have 7 baby & permanent teeth removed because of overcrowding. Referred to her Partner’s(DeMarco) husband who is an oral surgeon who did very good work. (3) The technician was a Philipino man whom my daugher was very comfortable with. In other instances, less impressed with other technicans. My wife nearly came to blows with a supervising male dentist who blew off complaints of pain(don’t mess with my daughter’s welfare; my wife will kill you first). (4) Don’t be late for an apointment; they start calling 5 minutes after your appointment and will reprimand. If you’re really late, you are qued to the back of the line or sent home. (5) Had issues with their office — they charged $ 250 for some X-rays and insisted they are not covered and required me to pay on-the-spot. I submitted them under my Medical(not Dental) and was reimbursed 90%. Either lazy or not smart of them. (6) General issue of not billing my Dental plan — they sent me balance invoices. My Dental has a $ 2,400 benefit(50% up to $ 2,400) and should have paid $ 1,200. They billed considerably less and I had to pay out-of-pocket. In the end, it didn’t matter as the residual benefit would be used in Phase 2. Final straw was that their Silver Spring location wasn’t convenient for our north Arlington residence; afternoon appointments took 1+ hour to get home on the 495/GW; Saturday drives still took 45 minutes each way, and this practice was not premium enough to spend those hours on the road. For Phase 2 Invisilign, we went to an Arlington orthodonist. Problem is that the Phase 2 Plan is $ 5,800 !! but that’s another story.

My 8-year old had a dental emergency that landed her in the orthodontists chair, and I’ve been very happy with the service since. The dentists are really pleasant and great at explaining options. The office staff is helpful and friendly. It’s easy to get an appointment time that works with our schedules.

Excellent technicians, very organized office, great with patients but really expensive. I chose this practice for my daughter because they were rated the best by Washingtonian Magazine. We were new to the area and didn’t want to take a chance on a less well known provider. Our daughter already had braces and was supposed to be halfway through her phase 1 plan. However, we seem to be paying for a full phase 1 treatment plan all over again. Money isn’t everything but it should be noted. Aside from the cost issue, 5 stars! 10 stars!
