The service is not great. Expect long waits to order and get your meal. The restaurant has enough space for many tables, but it seems like they don’t have enough waiters to accommodate all the guests. The Peruvian food is ok, but I’ve had better. I think it’s over-priced for the quality of the food. La Limena is by far better, though a lot more expensive so I guess this place may be considered worth what you pay? We had the anticuchos which were a little dry, the chicharrones de chancho which were also dry, chupe de camarones, arroz chaufa con mariscos and pollo a la brasa. The last two were good and the chicken here is better than what pollo brasero has to offer.

This place easily gets overlooked because of the location. It’s hidden in the back corner of Plaza del Mercado. Place was very clean and staff was friendly. We got the tostado which is hard to find at a restaurant but my husbands favorite. I ordered the bisteca, it was average. I would like to come back and try other menu items but overall wasn’t impressed with what I ordered.

The food here is excellent. We are Peruvian, so we mainly judge Peruvian restaurants by two dishes they must get right: Lomo Saltado and Aji de Gallina. Both were delicious. I would give this place a higher rating but the outside and the décor need some work to become serious competition to La Limeña or Sardis in Olney.

Came on Friday night with my parents. They didn’t have drink specials which I was a little disappointed about, but my parents were paying so who cares. We’re Peruvian, so we’re extra critical on the food. It was very good, and they kept the beer coming for dad so he was happy. Very good pisco sours — had a few of those. It got a little weird halfway through dinner because a large group took over half of the seating for a birthday party and then it turned into a weird disco/karaōke vibe. If you’re going to host private parties, PRIVATE should be the key word. It just made everyone feel weird and uncomfortable.

Love this place when it first opened. But after a while the ceviche didn’t taste as good as when they first opened. Very disappointed:(

It was our first time here. We are very underwhelmed with the food quality. We got ceviche and paella. We just came from Central America for vacation. Maybe we had an unusually high expectation, but we will not comeback here to relive C.A. experience. Ceviche was mostly thawed tilapia and the flavor had much to desire. Paella was better than ceviche but had very average taste with small portion. Overall, below average quality with above average price. Service was friendly but sparse.

One of the best Peruvian restaurant in Maryland. The Chicha Morada juice was delicious and the beef heart Anticucho was a great appetizer. I ate the most traditional plate, Lomo Saltado and I was not disappointed. Great environment and service

Boasts Peruvian Cuisine! Great Taste and Value! The Food — — — - Simply delicious! This is my second visit and we eager came here for lunch after an initial good experience. We were not disappointed. The lunch special included a variety of proteins(fajita steak, chicken breast, etc). Both the beef and chicken dishes was seasoned perfectly, moist and tender. Served with steamed white rice and a tomato/lettuce/carrot salad. !Mi Gusto! Bang-For-The-Buck — — — — — — – Very reasonably priced, La Fogotta offers a wide range of dishes to meet your palate’s taste without breaking your pocket. Definitely a good lunch spot or for those evening don’t want to cook and don’t want fast food! The Spot — — — - Located in a plaza next to the CVS pharmacy, this lightly decorated restaurant offers a light airy feel, with what appears to be a fully stocked bar. Unfortunately I don’t drink so just having a can of Sprite is fully stocked for me! LOL! Because of its location in the plaza there is more than enough parking regardless of the time of day. The Staff — — — - Very friendly and attentive staff make sure your dining experience is great. Not overly attentive(big plus), just just right. Conclusion — — — — You definitely should come here for great food at a great price. Bring the family or come in for a quick bite, either way you won’t be disappointed.

This place is so delicious! Whenever we go we get the tacu tacu which is a pretty large portion and super flavorful and juicy. I’ve tried their ceviche which is also very delicious and fresh. They’re green pesto spaghetti, so good! The locations is cute and they have a lot of tables set up to eat. They also never seem to be busy which is strange because their food is so delicious and authentic. Tastes just like how my mom makes it, maybe even better!

I found this place on Unilocal(per usual) and had I known such an incredible Peruvian place was down the street from my house I would have visited sooner. I was blown away by the Ceviche. It was so amazing I even drank the juice. I can’t remember the last time I had ceviche like that. The Lomo Saltado was also incredible. My fiancé had the Aji de Gallina and she loved it, while my daughter had the Yuca and Chicharron and she loved that as well. This place may have just become our go to dinner joint.

If you are okay with terrible service and mediocre food, this is your place. I have had to get up twice and hunt down our server just to ask for things.

The place was alright… I came cause I love eating Peruvian food. I first walked in thinking I could sit outside but the outside patio was horrible number 1. Number 2 we walked in and the staff wasn’t that great either because we didn’t even seat down and the waitress asked us what did we want to drink without us even looking at the menu, which I thought was so rude! The indoor décor made no sense but the place was clean and the food came pretty quick. We had chicharon for the appetizer which I thought the yucca was great but the pork was a little dry. For the entrée I had lomo saltado but I thought the plate was light on the seasoning and fries weren’t that good. I wouldn’t come back to this place.

I’ve been wanting to go back for a little while now. That was a bad idea. We got choros a la chalaca, leche de tigre, and anticuchos. For our dessert we got picarones. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t the best either. My Peruvian fiancé did not like any of it. He described it as «asqueroso»(or in English, «disgusting») The picarones were really over cooked on the outside, but on the inside they werent cooked. My boyfriend commented on that to the server and she rudely asks where he was from. Ummm Peru??? What does it matter anyway. Burned food is burned food. So speaking of the bad service. That lady was rude to begin with. We asked twice for the Peruvian kernels, when she finally brought them we ate all of them and wanted some more. My fiancé tried to get her attention when she passed, and when he asked for more she never stopped walking and interrupts him by saying«almost» with a rude tone. I guess she thought we were going to ask if the food was ready? Either way, completely rude. She didn’t even stop to listen to the question. Then when I got my sweet tea, I really didn’t like it. It tasted old. So I wanted to switch to water and she made a huge deal! Again with attitude, she asked why like two times and I told her it tasted old. and she said well you can go tell the manager because I can’t make that decision. You can’t switch a drink? Then she gave us the wrong change. It was just a bad experience which sucks because of how much we enjoyed it the first time. Probably won’t be coming back.

Started with ceviche; I was pretty impressed with it. One of the better ones in the area. We ate the chicharron next. The meat was good, and they prepare it well here. Nice fatty pieces of meat served with yuca. Overall I think it’s too dry as a dish, but I think they prepare better here than most places I’ve had it. I had a little bit of the steak to finish the meal(sorry, I’m not sure which my friend ordered). It was marinated deliciously. Don’t even bother asking them how you want your meat cooked though. We told the waitress«bloody, red, rojo» and it still came out well done, lol. Still tasted it good though… just would prefer it to be medium-rare. Our other friend got the quesadillas(I think beef)– she was delighted by it’s taste. I also tried their purple juice they have that I see everyone else ordering… They’re not better than me! If they get it, I want it too, hahah. It was alright. The initial flavor is good, but there is a medicine-like aftertaste. Service is pretty good, nothing really stands out to mention. Walls are a little bare, but this place is fairly new, so I expect that to change.

I came here with my dad, stepmom, and stepsis for dinner the other night. We started with the chicharron and yuca appetizer, which was D-E-Licous! However, it was mostly downhill from there. I had the leg of lamb stew, served with white beans and rice. The best part was the beans. The lamb was tough, and mostly flavorless. My dad had the«chicken spaghetti,» which was more like a lo mein type dish. Many chunks of veggies and chicken over flavored noodles. It was actually pretty good and had a kick. My stepsis had combo fajitas — chicken, steak, and shrimp — which were supposedly good, but they initially only gave her two tortillas and she had to ask for more. My stepmom had the fried trout, which game with both rice and fries — weird. She did NOT like it. Apparently, the fish was flavorless, and there was, predictably, too much starch on the plate. The service was ok and the waitress was nice enough, but my water glass sat empty for a good part of the meal. I don’t know that we’ll be too eager to return here on any future visits to the area.

Great service and good environment, the portion of food are very generous and the prices very reasonable, So far the best ceviche of the area, we also like the seafood Jalea and fried calamari, we would like to try other dishes but we are stuck we they’re seafood because is so good. I have visited all Peruvians area restaurants and I could say this is the best right now.

I am so glad equality Peruvian restaurant is here! The food is delicious, a wonderful authentic taste. The portions are large portions and the price is fairly inexpensive. Top notch Peruvian food! This place is fantastic. There are a lot of reviews in the area for Peruvian restaurants, Skip them all and come here. I had the Lomo Salado… can you say«cooked and seasoned to perfection! Everything I had here was delicious. The waitress(Stephanie) was really nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. Although the place was packed the server was quick and pleasant. Don’t skip this place because it’s in a little shopping center area. I love this place and can’t wait to go back and try something else!
