We hired this contractor to complete repairs to a building we own in Washington DC. The building had been damaged by water following heavy rain storms over the summer. The original quote was for $ 9,100. We made a 50% deposit by credit card on 8÷21÷12. Some minimal work was completed and then the contractor billed us for an additional $ 850 for ‘new damages’. We paid that by credit card on 9÷27÷12 after they refused to finish the work without the payment. We were very dismayed that, after receiving this payment, the contractor did not show up to finish any of the work. Repeated phone calls and emails largely ignored. When we did talk with them, they assured us they would be back on a specific date at a specific time and then did not show up. We finally hired a new contractor to complete the work and learned that much of the initial work this contractor had completed was poorly done and incomplete.
