Dr Ford is very through, listens and address every question without rushing your time. Sometimes you have to wait, no more than 15 minutes(my experience) I’m assuming she’s giving other patients the same courtesy consultation. I went to Dr Ford for adult hormonal acne and eczema maintenance, which I am very pleased with my results. The office setting is not the most luxurious but it works. I agree, she does put you in the mindset of Whoopi Goldberg, funny and always have a story or joke to tell… I recommend her!

She’s the Whoopi Goldberg of dermatology — full of zest and loves her job! If you’re not taking care of your skin, she’ll let you know; she’s your mom, your friend, your doctor and part comedian. I really enjoyed meeting Dr. Ford yesterday. So, with the summer rolling right along, has anyone thought about sun safety or getting a year skin check-up? If you have light skin, have had at least one blistering burn as a child or even just want some peace of mind to know that your little moles and freckles are normal, schedule an appointment and drop $ 30…it’s well worth it. She’ll give you the ol’ once over and make sure that nothing looks unusual. She walked in, I was sitting there on the chair looking like a hospital diva in my blue paper gown tied in a bow around the waist and shoes off… she says to me, «You shouldn’t ever go barefoot in a dermatologist office or any doctor’s office for that matter. You don’t know what’s touched that floor. We see warts, fungus, all kinds of stuff… but you’re ok, we didn’t have any warts or fungus here today, over there we did(referring to the other room), but not here.» Dr. Ford is just very cool — the visit was actually fun and educational. She gave me lots of great tips that I’ll share with you here: * If you ever get a mosquito bite and find it soon after you get bitten, you can put meat tenderizer on it. Get a pinch of it, mix it with water to make a paste and rub it into the bite. The granules will help with the initial itch and the enzymes in the tenderizer help to break down the proteins in the mosquito saliva that cause you to itch. *If you hate the heavy feel of sunscreen, you can try Coppertone Sports Gel. It goes on light and if you workout and sweat, it won’t sting your eyes like normal sunscreen. *Most of the damage we get from the sun is from the small everyday exposures, so Dr. Ford recommends using an SPF20 sunblock everyday on your face, ears, neck… any area exposed to the light. *SPF sunblocks that boast 70 or more are ridiculous. The Sun Protection Factor is just a multiplier(based on someone that takes 10 minutes to burn) that suggests how long the average fair-skinned person can be exposed to direct sunlight without damage. Since most places don’t have over 700 minutes or 12 hours of direct sunlight, you’re just paying for pretty packaging and overkill. I went out to Sephora and picked up some Juice Beauty 20SPF Apple antioxidant body lotion — it’s light and it feels good. For the outdoor workouts, I intend to try the Coppertone Sports Gel. Dr. Ford also gives you recommendations based on any issues she sees that you may have with your skin and is very thorough in addressing all your questions and concerns. If you’re looking for a dermatologist, you should give her office a call.
