Great food. Great drinks. Great service. The best Cuban I’ve had. The rice melted in my mouth. The flavors explode in your mouth.

I had Cubano’s cater a party for 20 people. I have never had their food before so I was taking a chance based only on Unilocal reviews. Everyone loved the food. It was delicious. I had a great party and my friends and family had second and third helpings. The manager, Mily, was wonderful to work with and she planned and adjusted the menu. The food was ready on time for pickup and was piping hot. It kept well into the night for my guests. I have had cuban food in Miami and this ranked just as good.

I was born and raised in Miami, so I’m unofficially Cuban. And being unofficially Cuban, I can unofficially approve the food here as authentic Cuban food. I ordered the Mi Tierra(Combo Sampler) which came with Ropa Vieja, Lechón Asado, and Fricasé de Pollo(beef, pork and chicken). I really enjoyed the chicken and would probably only order that as my entrée the next time I dine here. The beef and pork was not as tender as I thought it should be. The plantains were good too! My favorite part of my meal had to be the Moros y Cristianos, their mixed and seasoned rice and black beans. My only complaint would be that our server was very slow and took about 15 minutes to acknowledge us after we were seated. I went to the front of the restaurant to inform someone that the waiter did not come to the table yet and the owner rectified the situation immediately. All in all, I would come here again. Good food, nice sized portions for a reasonable price.

Had an excellent dinner at Cubanos. My first time having Cuban food and I loved it. I got the Mi Tierra(Combo Sampler), which is a sampler of a variety of Cuban meats with plantains and rice. Everything treated great. I paired my entrée with a Mojito, which had a great flavor and was pretty strong. Great experience overall.

Hands down my favorite place to eat. When I moved to Silver Spring last year I was so happy that Cubano’s was 2 block away so I could walk there. The service is always excellent. The food is savory, top notch and they don’t skimp on the serving sizes. I have recently moved a little farther west so I will now have to driver here a few times a month instead of walking. Totally worth it!

I have been going to Cubano’s for years, and have to say, it some of the best food I’ve had, Cuban or otherwise. The staff provides phenomenal service, and does it while being friendly and professional. The mojitos are some of the best, the food is spectacular, and constantly so. I’ve tried much if the menu and other than personal taste differences, never been disappointed. After eating here for years, I was completely surprised by the few lower ratings. I had to add my own. Go to Cubano’s, you won’t be disappointed!

My beautiful girlfriend and I ate here last night. We had the calamari for an appetizer. It was amazing! Definitely the best that I’ve ever had. She had some delicious guava berry juice as well. For out entrees, we both got the Mi Tierra combo Sampler. I’ve never had Cuban food before, but after this delicious meal, I would definitely have it again. Everything was great. We finished off with some Tres Leches cake that was amazing. The service was good as well. They were attentive and reasonable with the wait times for the food. I would definitely recommend dining here.

Originally came here for happy hour but we missed it by 10 minutes :(but we still got a few drinks — mojito and jack and coke. They were both pretty strong! Every table gets a side of garlic bread, which were amazing! I could eat those all night.

Went here for dinner this weekend, and I’m definitely a fan. Food was authentic and well prepared. My friend’s grilled fish in cream sauce topped with shrimp looked delicious and I don’t normally go for seafood dishes myself. I got the Ropa Vieja, which was a nice and tender & very tasty beef stew. It came with grilled plantains, which were delectable. I would have liked my stew to be a little bit more seasoned(maybe they went bland for American palates) and the service was NOT ultra slow and leisurely, maybe even the opposite, but these are little things. Would definitely go here again.

I have no clue how they have bad reviews. Randomly stopped here before a concert because I’ve been craving papa rellenas. All I have to say is wow, I got the ropa vierja which was very tasty, the meat was tender and flavorful. We got their version of the papa rellenas made with yuca and it was fantastic. The mojito was also spot on, not too sweet, and delicious. I need to find reasons to come to silver spring more often from Virginia!

I have to start out by saying that I have never had Cuban food aside from a Cubano sandwich at a sandwich shop, so I can’t compare Cubano’s food to other Cuban food. Went there today for lunch. The place was almost deserted at lunchtime on Sunday. We were seated immediately. I had the Mi Tierra(Combo Sampler). Service was quick and the portions are large. There does not appear to be a lunch menu. Everything on the sampler was cooked very well, nicely seasoned and good, but was a bit oily overall. Not just greasy, there was in fact, a good amount of oil in the bowl. The plantains were especially nice. Firm and sweet. The pork was tender and tasty. Overall the service was adequate, not outstanding considering there was only one other occupied table. The food was good, but not amazingly so. I needed a box because there was just too much food. I’ve rarely had a waiter scrape my plate into a box at the table before, and was not too thrilled about it. Most places either take the plate away and box it, or just leave you the box to take what you want. I personally would not have boxed up the chicken bone. But I’m probably nit-picking here. Solid cooking, but not great. Prices were acceptable for the area but not especially a bargain. I would not go out of my way to eat here, but it was pretty good.

food was not that good but I don’t know what authentic Cuban food is so it may be really good authentic Cuban food. Cuban food just may not be my thing the popular dish was not NOTNOT good. The meat tastes like taco stuffing or like hamburger helper meat. It did have a lot of flavor but it just reminded me of taco stuffing meat. I did like the rice it came with cus the rice was slightly salty. people said the sampler is good but i honestly thought it wasn’t that good. the chicken was really good but the rest was alright. The chicken was the best in the sampler. Very tender :) and fell off the bone nicely The meat dish for two. I don’t remember the name but it looked very good but my friends said it was a little too much meat without any distinct flavor. They said it tasted all similar and wished there were more bold flavors service was okay. nothing was memorable. They did refill the water often. The women and men’s restroom are located in different areas. there is a parking garage nearby(less than a min walk)

Came here for dinner meeting and enjoy the meal. The location I threw me off free parking in the public parking lot after six. The location is small the atmosphere is quite and romantic. The staff are very friendly and willing to help you with ordering or for suggestions Over all a very good experience. I will be back

I was in the area and hungry for something different. Unilocal led me to this place and boy was I pleased. I usually only get decent Cuban food when I’m in Miami, and while this place not be Versailles, it sure is close. Okay. Maybe they could put a little more butter on the bread. But hey, I’m from the south.

This is probably the best kept secret in DTSS! Just over 200 reviews and a 3.5 star rating. I kid you not! I rushed to make a noon reservation and waited to receive my normal, «I’m running late text message» 10 minutes go by and I get a little concerned. I make a call to find out that lunch is at 1:15pm! Drink Please! The bar area is a slight disappointment. Not that much room for barstools but about 6 high tops. Lots of patio seats available and a rather large dining area. Nothing really special about the décor. It looked like something out of a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western. Huge white arched doorways accented with lime and cantaloupe walls. The place is spotless and the staff referred to the regulars by name! I ordered a Caipirinha and the bartender’s eyes lit up! I guess everyone orders mojitos here. I heard that the drinks were potent here and that they are! He went traditional and added what seemed like ¼ cup of sugar into the glass and sliced a fresh lime in half. He squeezed the juice of ½ of the lime into the glass an muddled the second half. He pour 2 ounces of Cachaca onto the glass and stirred it. Nobody does that anymore. He added ice and I began my downward spirlal! That sugar looked like an extremely large amount but the bitterness of the lime pith evened it out. Three drinks later she shows up! During my «down time» I scanned the menu and pretty much deceided on «Mi Terra» combo plate with Ropa Vieja, Lechón Asado, and Fricasé de Pollo. My favorite central/south American side dish Moros y Christianos was served with this! I just love the way the rice is simmered in the black beans. Scattered on the plate were a few thin slices of maduros and one small hunk of potato that was simmered in the same pot as the chicken. That potato absorbed every bit of flavor from that Fricasé. The chicken was a bit over cooked for my liking but full of flavor. The Ropa was the star of the plate. Simmered to perfection. Usually this dish tends to be a bit stringy but this was spot on! The Lechón Asado had a subtle bitter orange flavor but no fat. And slightly stringy. We ordered the Pork Masitas and they were prepared much better. Nice texture and crust and very juicy with in. This place is great!(Don’t Blow Up My Spot)
