Got a pair of piercings done here a while ago, and they never healed fully or properly. The old guy who pierced me told me to use Bactine to clean them, which I did religiously. Oddly enough, I was never told to do salt-​water soaks (which every other piercer I’ve met highly recommends).
Since I no longer live anywhere near this shop, I’ve visited several other piercing shops to buy new jewelry. I’ve noticed that as I was getting the new jewelry put in, the piercers would look at my piercings strangely but would never tell me why. The last piercer I went to inserted my new jewelry and finally told me that my piercings are crooked. She gave me a mirror and let me see it for myself (with the new jewelry inserted). Yep… crooked as hell. I guess the jewelry I’ve previously worn kept me from seeing it before, but with this new jewelry I can clearly see that they’re not even.

Have gotten two amazingly good tattoos here from Mark — great work, great personality and always on point with your ideas. I’ve made the drive from Philly down to this shop specifically for his work — so trust me when I say — worth the drive and time.

If your debating or thinking about getting a tattoo or piercing, Capitol tattoo is just the place! Im a regular customer and they are great with and treat me very well! They will give you feedback on what you want. Meatwad is the best when it comes to tattoos and Thomas is the best piercer. Both have done a wonderful job with me, and I am satisfied and happy with their work and hospitality! Thanks you guys your the best!

Fantastic people with a great attitude! I always leave satisfied with whatever tattoo I get and the same goes for the piercings :-) I love that the employees that work there really help work with you to figure out exactly what you want to do rather than making you feel like you are being rushed which is important because a lot of the times I have some idea of what I want but not an exact picture that I am set on. I have two tattoos from this shop and one piercing and I love how they were done and how well they healed :-) Customer for life!

Tommy did my belly button. Did a great job, super fast. Ive gotten it pierced now three times because its rejected, this time wasnt any different (shocker). But you wont get any fancy jewlery here. They are very cut and dry with there jewlery… super basic ring or bar bell, but I guess that is a good thing… less chance of infection.

Thomas the piercer was awesome! My Vch piercing was so fast and painless. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I was so afraid to go in there. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable. He is sooo hilarious. Didn’t make anything uncomfortable at all. I will definitely recommend him. Great job my dude! Well def return if i need another piercing lol.

I had the best experience at Capital Tattoo getting my bottom lip peirced. It was my first body mod experience and I was so nervous. Walking in, the environment was so clean and peaceful. I was greeted by the piercer, Tom, and he immediately settled my nerves by cracking jokes. When he got down to business, he explained everything and even told me which piece of jewelery would make the piercing easiest to heal. The piercing process was so quick and barely painful that I quickly realized I’d hyped myself up for nothing. Tom even took the time to take into account my beauty mark in the placing of my piercing because, and I quote «we want it to look cute don’t we?». Overall, I would recommend anyone to Capital tattoo for a piercing from Tom. I plan to go back for another piercing in a couple of months.

I’ve gotten 7 piercings, all by Tommy. Let’s start with the shop itself. The shop is clean, well arranged, and open. I’ve been to another tattoo place, and it just wasn’t put together very well, but I like the atmosphere there. My first piercing was my septum, and because I flinched the first time, I got it clamped and repierced, and then it was fine. Tommy hasn’t messed up any of my piercings, and works with you to get something that suits your anatomy, appearance, and taste. I’d recommend him.

I had my septum pierced at Capitol Tattoo a few days ago by Tommy. While he was extremely nice, he didn’t do the best job. When he pierced me, he went in perfect on one side but the other side came out through my cartilage on the bottom of my nose. He said everything was done and good so I assumed it was and didn’t check on the way out (which, I’ll admit, was my fault).
He told me they don’t do refunds but if I find myself unsatisfied I could go back and have it redone or trade it in for another piercing, which was good. I decided to just take it out and keep my face free of piercings.

I got tattoed at this place twice, the first time was success. The second time I went to see the same guy that did my first one, and this time he messed up the whole design, I brough the pictures and explain what I wanted. He did a crappy job on the two tattoos that I got, not even close to what I asked him, while he was working on it I explaining him again how do I wanted my tattoo, and he got a rude attitude towards me. I felt that he’s working just for the money, he’s an older man that should be retired by now. This is art and you need to feel the passion to perform a better job.
Anyways, now I have to get one tattoo covered because there is no way to fix it and the other has to be redone. I thought it would be like the first time but it wasn’t.
I’m not planning to go back to that place, be aware that you’re getting a tattoo which is permanent, do your research and look for an artist that you can trust.

Tina: She hasn’t been tattooing for that long yet, but she’s already incredible and she’s only going to get better. Trust me, you want her to do work for you! She has a great eye and a background in drawing and art. I love the big custom piece she did for me recently and I’m looking forward to doing more! Check out her portfolio.
Chris: Turned a source art-​based drawing Tina did for me into an absolute work of art on my arm. His coloring and shading are phenomenal, as is his attention to detail. He really has fun and loves what he does, and he is clearly great at it! I’ve gotten about 1 million genuine compliments on this tattoo since then– including the coveted-​if-​not-​backhanded «I usually don’t like tattoos, but i like yours! It’s beautiful!»
Plus, it kinda looks like a Five Guys on the inside. Definitely coming back for more here!
