I can’t really give a good review because I left without ordering anything. I called ahead, and asked if this marina offered a full bar. I was assured they were a fully stocked bar. When I arrived at the marina, I waited at the hostess podium, as the sign instructed me to do to get seating. After standing there about 5 minutes watching employees walk past me, with out acknowledging me, finally a hostess showed up. I asked her if the restaurant offered a full bar. She stuttered, unsure, but said«yes, they have a full bar». So my husband and I were sat outside. After sitting and waiting about 10 minutes, again, watching numerous servers go by, our girl finally showed up and asked to take our drink order. I asked for a Malibu and Diet. She replied with a questioning«michalob in a bottle?» Ummm, no. Malibu and diet. To which she then informed me that they do not have liquor. Only beer, not even wine coolers. Ok. That’s fine. You don’t have a liquor license or you can’t sell by the drink in this county. I suppose the young girls I spoke with on the phone and at the hostess counter just don’t know what«full bar» means. But why do you not sell wine coolers, or the fruity Apple beers? Oh well, we left. they were not busy so there was no need for the long wait times either. The little store is sparsely stocked. All in all it was a disappointing experience. But I posted the menus if you feel like trying it yourself. On a side note: we left this Marina and went to Blue Water Grill at Hurricane Dock. They have a very lovely FULLY stocked bar, fun frozen drinks, local craft beers on tap, and a wonderful restaurant. Check out their hours in the link below. They also have a deli style counter for quick to-go items.

Went here on Memorial Day weekend… food took forever and was terrible when it arrived. Manager’s response was«the kitchen sucks and all I can offer you is a discount.» Also they no longer take reservations for outside seating, which is the whole point of eating out at the lake. I suggest you try Coppertop at Center Hill Marina or the restaurant at Hurricane Marina.

Was with a group of 12 for Labor day weekend and ate at the restaurant for two dinners. Stephanie was our server and she was fantastic! She treated our 6 children with such kindness and was accommodating of all of our needs. When 1 chidl wasn’t feeling well and needed to go home, she voluntarily boxed up her meal(and her parents) so we could take her back to our cabin. They were very busy the second night — but we asked for Stephanie again. She is young –but a gem. Food is good… service was even better.

Waited about 25 minutes to get a seat. Not too bad. Sat at the table for another 20. No one even came to take our order. No drinks, no apps. Not even water. They get overwhelmed with a reasonable crowd. When I inquired I was told the cook wasn’t even taking another order for 20MORE minutes. Heading back to the camp to scrape up something. I suggest the same.

Never would have known about this place if I didn’t have a friend who lived around here. The Galley is a full restaurant tucked beside a marina, deep down in Edgar Evins State Park. When I say«deep down,» I mean a few miles from any main road. I mean, you probably don’t know about this place unless you have a boat down in the marina. I mean, if you found this place on accident you would scratch your head and stare in wonder and ask yourself how a restaurant got lost inside a state park. We came one evening in July and sat outside on the patio– basically a shelter extension of the dock. It’s actually a really pretty romantic place, with glowing fountains out on the water and opportunistic turtles and catfish that swim around hoping for a french fry. The menu has a modest assortment of offerings ranging from wraps and salads to catfish and chicken dinner plates. Everything we ordered was really good, especially the fried catfish. Prices ranged from $ 7 to $ 29. Nice beer selection. Really, my only issue was the service. Our waitress didn’t seem very interested and thought it was okay to not bring the loose coins when we asked for change. And her math was off, so we got short changed a few bucks. I guess she is probably used to regulars that don’t want coin change, but we felt a little annoyed. Other than that… really a lovely spot for dinner. Evokes kind of a Louisiana bayou waterfront dining feel. Recommended. Note: Not wheelchair friendly. There is a long, steep concrete boat ramp you have to walk down to get to the restaurant. Also, according to their website it appears they are only open on weekends.
