Rented a Wave Runner here for a day earlier this summer. Good service — the check in took a while but once you’ve been here once I believe they will deliver to you dockside — and they meet you back at the marina and haul it all away, easy as pie. Be a bit careful with the add-on charges, that ran up the bill a bit — but no major gripe, it’s a good operation and they’re easy to deal with.

Another great outing at Canoe the Caney! Last year we rode in one of their air conditioned tour buses to the river, but this year opted to wait and ride the trolley! OMG!!! It was SO much fun! While we were waiting, we had hot dogs and soda from their concession stand. We went on a Saturday morning. The lines were long, but no wonder. They’ve got the best outdoor entertainment around. But they did keep the lines moving, so really no complaints. Our kids wanted several souvenirs and they were reasonably priced.

I took my family on a kayak trip on the Caney Fork river and we used Canoe the Caney at JBeez Watercraft. The river was clean and cold and the scenery was beautiful but Canoe the Caney can’t really take credit for that. The staff were initially helpful and friendly. After three hours of fun on the river we arrived(on time) at the pick up location and saw the Canoe the Caney truck leaving when we were about 200 yards from the gravel«beach» where they pick you up. They were gone for over an hour. While we were waiting for the bus to come get us we noticed that another canoe rental company made four pick-ups during the hour that we waited for Canoe the Caney. After 50 minutes my wife called their shop and asked when a bus was coming to get us. They quickly said«there’s one on the way» and then hung up on her. When we returned to the shop I talked to a lady who I guess was the manager — I told her about our experience. She never apologized and defended the employee who hung up on my wife, saying«he hung up on accident». That’s not how we saw it. Even the driver of the bus refused to take responsibility for being over an hour late. She told us that we were early. We arrived at the time they told us to be there for a pick-up. We will not be using this company again and I don’t recommend that anyone else use them either.

Is your ideal July 4th spent on a cool, mountain river? Are you looking to cool off on a hot summer day? The Caney Fork River is about 1 hour east of Nashville, TN and is the perfect spot for a quick day trip. We used the service from JBeez Watercraft in Silver Point, TN and were very pleased. This is not the closest place to the river, but it is conveniently located one mile from I-40 at Exit 273. JBeez has modern, air conditioned buses that take you from their location to the drop-off point just below Center Hill Dam. They also pick you up 5 miles down river and shuttle you back to your vehicle. The staff is very friendly and their process is fairly efficient for a «laid back» canoe rental service. The Caney Fork River is just an awesome place to spend the day. Since the water is generated from the bottom of Center Hill Lake, the river stays a cool 54 degrees year round. This makes it perfect for place to cool off on those hot summer days and a great place for trout fishing. If you arrive early to the Happy Hollow pick-up, it is not a problem. This is a nice shallow spot on the river for you to spend a few minutes splashing around while waiting for your ride. We really enjoyed our family visit to the Caney Fork on July 4th this year… Thank you JBeez!
