Great food and very professional service. Although they are clearly not kid-oriented, the staff was very kind and friendly with my children. Love the steak and chocolate mousse for dessert.

My wife and I have come to appreciate Willy’s as a special local restaurant with outstanding steak, seafood, and sushi — about as good as you’ll find anywhere. A neighborhood establishment with a lively bar set close to the dining area. I appreciate a good steak every now and then, but I usually come to Willy’s for the fresh swordfish. To change things up, I tried the sushi on our last visit and was truly impressed — so fresh and flavorful. I’m already looking forward to our next trip back!

This was a restaurant we’ve wanted to try since moving to the area a few months ago, and it would have been a disappointment at any price, but for the price tags at Willy’s it’s a safe bet I won’t be taking that gamble again. The first time we went there was a 2+ hour wait without a reservation, so before going last night I made sure I made one. We were seated immediately when we arrived(15 minutes before our reservation) and given menus. Ambiance, menu options, and cleanliness were all very good, service and drinks were satisfactory, but the disappointment was the food. I got the caramelized duck breast with an orange blackberry glaze. If you’ve been wondering how to pull off poultry as a dessert, I would recommend trying this dish so you could answer that question, then never ask it again. The meat itself was unseasoned, the sauce was thicker than a sugary maple syrup, and the 8 or so slices of duck were drowned in it. The meat hadn’t been slow cooked so the fat did not render down, it was just a chewy bit on the side to be cut off. I added a bit of salt to the duck but that didn’t help much; though I order duck every time I see it on the menu, I didn’t eat half of this dish. The mashed potatoes were fine, but I had to add salt to these too — it’s important to note that I’ve never added salt to a dish in a restaurant before last night. The mixed vegetables were also drowned in a sauce that tasted like a teriyaki/soy type sauce, so these did not need salt… maybe a few paper napkin to soak up some of the sauce though. My date got the tenderloin beef sauté, and the meat was again unseasoned. The beef texture was not like bits of sauteed steak, more like bits of a pot roast. The wild mushroom raviolis were also less than impressive — for $ 3 I’ve had better from the refrigerated section at Trader Joe’s. The sauteed spinach was ok. The best part was the bread — fantastic bread. The oysters were also not bad, though they came only with cocktail sauce, horseradish and lemon — no mignonette sauce. My date and I were going to share crème broulee, but after the entrees we didn’t want to be let down by our favorite dessert too. For $ 140(including tip and 2 cocktails each) this was a very disappointing experience. I had been looking forward to trying their steaks Au Poive and Diane, but after this I highly doubt I’ll be back.

Service was attentive without being bothersome, décor was old school but it didn’t feel dated, and the food was great.

We’ve been wanting to try this place for years and finally made it out tonight because what better time than restaurant week? Everything was outstanding, that being said, it was a deal compared to their normal prices. My only complaint is that I ordered my steak medium rare and the very center was close to that, but the pieces on the edges were more like well done. However, I seemed to be the only person in our part of 4 that had that issue. Since the meal came with salad and desert, and we ordered a sushi appetizer to split, it wasn’t that big of a deal tonight because I couldn’t finish the steak anyway, but if whad paid 40 for just the piece is steak and half of it was overlooked, I might have said something.

I think this is a one and done for me. Reading all these reviews about how busy the place gets we chose to dine early to avoid the one main complaint that seemed to be the common thread for past reviews. We started with the Nutty Kenso sushi appetizer and it was outstanding! Fresh and delicious. We both chose the porterhouse — how often do you see a porterhouse on the menu in these parts? Sides to share: Garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms. The steaks came underdone so we sent them back, it was returned still underdone but we didn’t know how underdone until we were several bites in — large portions of both steaks were rare and they were completely under seasoned, if seasoned at all. The garlic mashed potatoes had no garlic flavor at all, they had no flavor at all really. The mushrooms were… fine. Bottom line 80.00 for 2 steaks that were mostly inedible…

You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. It is always prepared with care and presented with perfection. This is probably due in large part to the quality and freshness of their ingredients and relatively small size of the restaurant and kitchen. They are very popular so food moves through their stores quite quickly and receives focused attention from the chefs. The atmosphere is upscale, energetic and warm. Staff is always professional and attentive. I rate this as the best overall restaurant/steakhouse/sushi bar in Worcester. You will not be disappointed.

There is so much to love about Willy’s. I recently went for dinner with my fiancé on a Friday evening around 8:15pm. The place was completely filled, and unfortunately we had to wait close to 30 minutes beyond our reservation time before we were seated. Both the hostess and the maitre D’ were apologetic, and comped us a free appetizer for the inconvenience. Other than the initial wait, the rest of the night was fantastic. The atmosphere was both romantic and lively. The food was tremendous! I went with the Shrimp Tempura, and a NY Strip Steak — both made perfectly. My fiancé ordered the Chicken Broccoli and Penne(gluten free) and could not stop raving about how delicious it was. I highly recommend this place, just make sure you have a reservation!

Was home for the holidays and picked this place as the middle to meet for a Sunday dinner. The restaurant is fairly small inside, but our party of 12 had no trouble getting an early reservation. It looks like maybe they can accommodate two large parties at one time. lots of booth seating and some bar stools otherwise. The interior is dark(you could still read the menu just fine), but very charming. We had awesome service — brisk, but not rushed at all. We did a lot of talking and catching up and the staff didn’t seem to mind that we were taking our time. Our servers(we had three) were all awesome and on top of it all. We shared several apps to start and everything was fresh and flavorful. The calamari and sushi being personal favorites. Portion size was great for sharing, enough for everyone to have a bit of everything. Entrees were all over the map, but everyone enjoyed their choice and cleaned their plates :) A friend and I split two entrees; grilled Swordfish and the Filet — both were really good and again, perfect portion. Most entrees don’t come with any sides, so we ordered several for the table. Food was spectacular, service was on point(especially for a group our size) and charming interior made it a perfect evening with friends. We had heard that this place was tough to get a reservation, so def. consider calling ahead if you wish to dine! I actually wish I lived in state so I could go here more often!

With regard to the sushi, Willy’s has undergone a radical transformation. I believe it is because Kenzo is back. This is some of the freshest, finest sushi in the area. It is great quality prepared by a team that understands how to get it right.

Not sure about the steakhouse [I’m told by many it’s awesome] but the sushi ala Kenzo is incredible. I let him make me whatever he suggests and it’s always insanely good. I’ve had sushi that cost more than double that was not ½ as good. I am spoiled having this place right up the road from my home. The only downside… it’s crowded and hard to get a seat at the sushi bar [or the regular bar for that matter]. Wait it out… you’ll be writing a review like this one if you do.

Willy’s steakhouse is one of my favorite restaurants by far! I love everything about it and love to go here for date nights when my boyfriend and I have time. We are never disappointed and leave very happy! For starters, their steak is the best I’ve had. I’ve been to Abe and Louie’s, Capitol Grille, 111 Chophouse, etc. etc. and I always find myself comparing my steak to Willy’s. Their filet is my boyfriend and I’s favorite! Add the truffle butter on top and we are the happiest people on earth! :) The truffle and lobster mac and cheese is AMAZING! I do not like cheese(I know, I know haha) but there is something in this dish that made me go «WOW!» after one bite. I highly recommend that as a side to share, and know that they do not skimp on the lobster meat either. Their sushi is good and fresh, but the sushi appetizer of «The Nutty Kenzo» has become one of my top five best things I have ever ate. Imagine a mixture of raw salmon, tuna, and hamachi with avocado, cilantro, jalapeños, lime, granola, and almonds in Kenzo’s special sauce, the flavors are like an explosion in your mouth! This appetizer was so tasty that I plan on ordering one for myself next time I am there. Service is always good. Head sushi chef Kenzo always stops by to say hi and chat with us, and the waitstaff are very attentive. We had Nancy(I believe that’s her name) last night and she was excellent and offered a great choice for a delicious Cabernet. Willy’s Steakhouse and Sushi is five stars for sure!

We went here for our anniversary. Place is underground, but nicely decorated with dark wood features. The lighting was good — I could see what I was eating(always a plus)! There was a fair sized bar, no standing room. Food was off-the-charts spectacular! Only con… fruitflies. They were buzzing around my husband and I alllll night. We had the Seared Ahi Tuna special and Caterpillar sushi roll for appetizers. The tuna was phenomenal. Cooked beautifully and the mango on it was different and I liked it. The Caterpillar roll was good, could have used a little crunch in it. For dinner, we both had Filet Mignon cooked medium rare with garlic mashed and spinach w/mushrooms. The filets were melt in your mouth amazing! It was a thick, juicy and delicious. I’m drooling just thinking about it right now. I thought the garlic mashed were a bit too garlicy, but my husband thought they were done perfectly. I would definitely order the spinach and mushrooms again, they were very very good. We had a bottle of sauvignon blanc. Even though it was a $ 44 bottle of wine it still had a screw cap — I guess it just doesn’t give me the same vibe as a cork(especially since I collect corks). Overall, this is a must do! It’s pricey… but the food was worth it. Hopefully they can get some fruitfly traps up, get those pests out of there.

I’ve never had a bad meal at Willy’s Steak House. Their salmon sashimi is to die for, so delicious and buttery and it melts in your mouth. The tuna tartare is amazing and my fiancé loves their Mac & cheese and steaks. We’ve tried a variety of different items but those are our favorite! Sangria is delicious there as well! Service is always amazing!

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. After finding some friends to babysit our young children, we were very excited to get out for an evening with no kids. We decided to come to willies because we could not make reservations in the other two restaurants we wanted to try. We had high expectation of this place due to the reviews on Unilocal. And without further adieu, here are our thoughts on how our evening went. The Good: we made a reservation and were seated right away so that was a good sign. We ordered the lobster bisque as an appetizer. That was delicious. Highly recommend it. I ordered some sashimi that had a spicy sauce and that was delicious. My husband had broccoli on the side with his entrée and it was steamed and seasoned to perfection and the dessert was to die for. We had the chocolate brownie cheesecake. The Bad: The restaurant was very busy when we got there. I presumed it was because it was a Friday evening. We could not figure out who was the hostess and no one really greeted us when we got to the front desk though the vallet guy opened our door for us and that was kind of nice. After being seated, a waitress came. She was friendly but not very attentive. I chalked it up to the fact that she was super busy with too many tables. My husband got a gingerale and I got a water and a lemonade. When she went to refill my water cup, she kept putting water in my hubby’s gingerale too! It’s obvious that she forgot that he had ginger ale and not water. Also my sashimi was supposed to come with a side of seaweed salad but it was not delivered to me until I asked about it. Our main courses took forever to arrive as well… maybe 45 minutes after the lobster bisque appetizer. The Ugly: my husband ordered a stuffed lobster. It came with a couple of shrimp and a couple of scallops. He is a huge lobster fan and this lobster did not deliver. The lobster did not seem very fresh, but it was definitely overcooked — very rubbery. The shrimp and the scallops were flavorless and the best part of the whole thing was this bread crumb stuffing which was actually seasoned. I ordered a tuna sashimi which was yummy but also ordered the tempura crabs… and that did not live up to my expectation. It was not crunchy, and the sauce was super sweet — gaggingly sweet. On the ride home that stuff almost came up. Overall our entrees were very disappointing. Especially since we had to wait as long as we did for them. Conclusion: perhaps we should have eaten steak at a steakhouse but if the seafood is this awful maybe they should be kept off the menu. It’s pretty sad that the best thing at this restaurant were the appetizer, a side, the sashimi and the dessert. Unless someone else was paying, we will not be back. And if we were to visit we are going to avoid the sea food like the plague

I was looking for a restaurant near my hotel and after reading some of the reviews posted here, I decided to give it a try. Restaurant is small but very cozy, service was very friendly and food was delivered within 30 minutes. The make their bread upon request and is very good. I had some sushi and it was very delicious. Also had the 10oz filet and it was very very good. Good selection of wines. I was so full that I did not try dessert. Highly recommended because o their great food and great service.

Fresh sushi and bar with plenty of choices. Steak aged for two weeks! Food was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Sides are a la carte. Lobster mac and cheese was amazing. Pureed butternut squash could be served for dessert. Steamed broccoli was cooked perfectly. Wine list and after dinner drinks menu are limited, but gives you enough choices to pair well with your meal. Staff was friendly and attentive! Service overall was very good. Seating is limited so make your reservations early. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

A group of friends from this area brought me here for a belated birthday dinner while I was visiting them in November. It’s definitely quite unassuming on the outside, better/nicer ambiance on the inside. Good service, really good food. Good steaks and an avocado/crab appetizer that was delicious! Would definitely like to come back.
