Delicious bagels! Made the way bagels should be made but are so rarely. Chewy on the inside, crisp on outside.

I pick up bagels here for my students sometimes. These guys do a great everything bagel! Prices are good. Service is super quick and I can order the day before for a morning pickup. Only drawback is they don’t take credit cards which threw me the first time I was there.

I don’t understand the buzz. As usual, I employ my three visit analysis. First breakfast on Sunday. The line was out the door. That’s a good sign since it must be good… but they are quick to move you out. When I asked if I could have my bagel toasted, it was as if I asked to have the restaurant renamed after me. A very sarcastic yes was provided. Bagel was good but not great. And not worth the 20 minute wait. I prefer the bagel store in red bank — Brooklyn hot bagels(I don’t work there and am not affiliated with that place). It’s a better bagel and quicker service. It’s right down the street! Lunch during the week. The masters melt and the turkey melt. The best part is they have a free lunch card so five sandwiches means a free one. However, this may be too many visits for one average sandwich. The turkey melt was good(4 out of 5) but the masters melt(tuna salad with melted cheese muenster and tomato) was average at best. Tuna was below par and the combination of Tuna and cheese(normally a classic!!) was not done. Tuna seemed old. Not fresh. Not good. Third try. This was the best of three. Caesar bagel master wrap was well done. A honey wheat wrap was also a treat. The wild western wrap was also above average. Perhaps because the restaurant was not busy, I got a nice sandwich. Beware… if this place is busy=sloppy sandwiches, average bagels and subpar service.

The food and bagels are beyond great bagels are soft and always warm. but the wait is long. I feel like they need a bigger location, seeing how there is limited parking as well. Accepting credit card would be great too. Always consistant and i always go back!

Service here is excellent and the bagels are doughy and delicious. My only complaint with the bagels is that I love everything bagels and when I tried one from here there was hardly any«everything» on it. I didn’t mind since the bagel was good as it was but I felt like I was eating a plain bagel. When we arrived there was a line around the restaurant. There is very little seating here but nobody stayed too long for that to matter. People were considerate though and didn’t stand right in front of customers sitting at the tables to eat. The line moved very quickly. Once we ordered I took a seat while my husband waited for the food. One of the gentlemen delivered our bagels to our table and then told me since it would be hard for me to get my husband’s attention because of the line blocking us that he would get him for me. Everything in here was clean and the tables we’re always wiped down after people ate. We had a good experience and I’d come back but just not for an everything bagel.

I have been in love with this place for years. Ever since I was a kid in kindergarten I got a plain bagel with cream cheese delivered to the school once a week for lunch. The bagels are made fresh ever morning and the left overs are donated at the end of the day. They have a water bath to cook the bagels which gives them a soft, authentic taste. The staff is fun and high energy. If the line is out the door, everyone will be served in less than 10 minutes. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality that you receive. This is a MUSTGO if you are in the area for lunch or breakfast

This review should probably be in two parts, 1) the bagel, and 2) the sandwich. First, the bagel. Five stars. You won’t find a better bagel anywhere. They are big, fresh, and absolutely perfect. If you need bagels and bagels only, you need not go anywhere else. Second, the sandwich. Sadly, one to two stars max on their bacon, egg, and cheese. Using just one egg, this bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel seems like 90% bagel, with everything else combining to act more like a condiment than an actual sandwich. If they used two eggs, and we’re not so skimpy on the bacon, there would not be a better option for such anywhere but as it stands now, the sandwich is severely lacking. I did also order a side of home fries that were outstanding, cooked to perfection with diced onions and peppers. Now if only they could get that bacon, egg, and cheese part right!

Def some of the best bagels I’ve ever had. No letdowns here. They make their eggs and bacon perfectly and had a great assortment of regular and Diet Snapples. They even had a Cinnamon only bagel with no raisins which I’ve been asking for forever! Wish I lived close to this place

Best bet for best bagels in the area. Period. I mean you would know if you’re from here. Some bagel places here don’t do them right. What makes them so special? They’re soft, not too big or small, tastes amazing toasted with a spread and easily can be turned into a snack/lunch. Follow the tips below in Unilocal and do yoself a favor. Buy a bagel from Bagelmasters!

Went to this place for the first time after reading the Unilocal reviews and I was not disappointing! Yes you have to wait in a pretty long line that goes out the door but it was 110% worth it! We got Egg bagels with porkroll/egg/cheese and it was great! Egg bagel was VERY tasty! I will be going back every time I am in the area now!

Agree with other Unilocalers, this is the best bagel joint in Monmouth county(possibly in NJ for that matter, live in Morris county currently nothing up here even comes close). Taylor ham egg and cheese is the definite go to. They need to franchise this place, expand the empire.

Delicious boiled n baked bagels that are dense yet fluffy. Besides the bagels, our favorite things are the sweet strawberry cream cheese, egg salad and tuna salad which are all house made. Be ready for a 5 – 10 minute wait on weekend mornings. Cash only!

Hands down the best bagels in the area! Can’t go wrong with a breakfast sandwich — preferably bacon, egg and cheese or pork roll, egg and cheese. Also love the lunch sandwiches, which come with a side of potato or macaroni salad. Yum!

Bagelmasters, Shrewsbury: Right up there tied for número uno with Bagel Station, Redbank. I went there on the Saturday before Christmas and was a little dismayed with the line of folks waiting patiently for their round doughy delight. Thankfully the line moves quickly and when I got to order I was blown away with the choices of flavors offered. Being a purist I shied away from the more exotic choices and went with the everything toasted with fried egg and bacon. The man behind the counter(I take it he was the owner) wished a Merry Christmas to all and behind him were Christmas decorations along with a menorah. Gave the impression that this place wants all folks to enjoy their products. The bagel was perfect — just the right amount of chewiness, softness and flavor. Each bite was urging me on to see if the next one would be even better… my poor bagel was devoured in minutes. I saw little tongue-in-cheek napkin holders with a caption saying«Carbs are good for you». Felt a little guilty as I left knowing I had consumed perhaps a week’s worth of carbs in less than 10 minutes… but that soon passed. I fully realize that I can never have another bagel anywhere else but in NY or NJ as I would just be settling for a piece of boiled dough with a hole in the middle masquerading as the Real McCoy… or the Real Manischewitz so to speak

Excellent quality bagels, very friendly fun loving staff. The kitchen is open so you can watch them make the next batch of bagels while you eat — that’s interesting for both kids and adults. The line gets long during lunch, so be sure to get there early to get yours!

Ummmmm, has any one of the reviewers here ever considered showing some respect for food? Has anyone here ever pondered what a bagel is? Has anyone had a bagel at the Bagel Oven, let alone NYC? Unfortunately not. These bagels are chewing hunks of gluten with a puny paper-size skin: no crunch, not depth, nothing to come back to, and definitely nothing to feed my soul. And these«Bagel Sandwiches», who cares about a bagel sandwich? When I get bagels, I want good bagels — I don’t care about what ever pathetic pre-selected topping combinations the store has made for me. Speaking of which, have any of the previous reviewers ever been to a delicatessen? Once again, unfortunately not. Tisk, tisk, Jersey Shore-ites: One of the most important accoutrements of upwardly-mobile bourgeoisie is a refined palate(or at least the presentation thereof). Let’s get our act together.

Awesome bagel deli. Bagelmaster’s boils and then bakes the bagels right in front of you, and you can taste it in the extra delicious bagels. Lots of varieties of both bagels and cream cheeses, the classic NJ bagel sammies for those who want to get their pork roll on, and several varieties of coffee. Cute little sun-soaked seating area with 5 or so tables across the front of the place. Bagelmaster’s is a cute and very friendly version of the classic NJ bagel deli. Note: For true bagel connoisseurs, yes, this bagel is slightly more tender than average. So, they have their own version of the bagel, and good for them, it’s delicious and shows their mastery of Bagel Craft, and justifies their name.
