I have been here for breakfast and lunch, both were delicious. The staff is amazing they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The roast beef sandwich is delicious.

I’ve heard all these great things about Julie Anne’s so on my 3rd business trip here to the Port of Shreve I decided to give it a go. Immediately upon walking in I was greeted by a very energetic young man who welcomed me and took care of my order from beginning to end. Now, being from NYC, my first reaction to someone saying«May I help you?» when I step one foot into any retail store is «Back off man, when I am ready I will let you know!» But, I welcomed his energy, shut off my NYC Italian attitude and went along for the ride. Upon looking around there is a plethora of cakes and pies and cookies and bread and etc. You get it, it’s a bakery. It’s no Arthur Avenue but it’s quite lovely. So, after looking around a bit, I made my decision. I decided upon the Key Lime pie slice, the Black Forest Slice, a few pralines that they have in a jar on the counter, a croissant which I was going to use to make a sandwich back at home and an apple pie. In the spirit of saying something nice first lets start with what I liked the most. The Black Forest Slice was a slice of sheer nirvana. It had layers of meringue and whipped cream and was not what I expected based on what the young man told me it was. I have been to the Black Forest and this is nothing like what Black Forest Cake is but never the less an amazing tasting slice. Next in order of best to worst would be the croissant. Flaky and buttery and worked perfect for my ham and cheese sandwich which I made myself at home for lunch. Next we will go to the Key Lime slice. I was extremely disappointed in this. It was very non key lime tasting. Having made key lime pie myself with fresh key limes it was very bland. Almost tasteless one might say. The texture is almost that of cool whip with some key lime flavoring added. The very thin graham cracker crust didn’t help it along either. Next are the pralines. What to say, what to say. Well, I’ve been to New Orleans several times and have had some of the most amazing pralines on earth and these definitely are not them. These definitely lack a certain authenticity of flavor that I was looking for. Now, onto the most disappointing thing I purchased. The apple pie. Unfortunately, the pie I purchased was the worst apple pie I have ever had on the planet. Mrs. Smith’s far outshines this pie. The crust was perfectly cooked at first glance on the out side but upon cutting into it the bottom was completely wet and uncooked. Not only was it uncooked the crust had absolutely no real taste at all. The apples were properly cooked inside but flavorless. It completely lacked a true cinnamon to sugar ratio that gives apple pie that wonderful taste. At one point I wondered, based on the bland taste, if this was a pear pie that was mislabeled. I so wanted to love everything that I purchased here but alas it was not meant to be. So, to summarize, I will say that this place is quaint, the service is second to none, the prices a bit high and the product just overall ok. I would definitely recommend a visit but make your choices wisely.

Julie Anne’s is the best bakery in Shreveport. There is no one else close. If I could review all their pastries one by one I would. Some standout items are their petit fours, iced gingerbread man & sugar cookies(kid favorite), any kind of cake, and good lord their king cakes are the best ever. Little known fact, you can order their king cakes at any time of the year(not just Mardi Gras). They are also a popular lunch spot(and for good reason). They offer lots of tasty sandwiches and salads. My personal favorite is their turkey walnut wrap that comes with spinach, turkey, walnuts, Swiss, tomato, and honey mustard. Sandwiches are served usually with potato chips or pretzels and a pickle.

Great lunch options. They have a sick seasoned beef salad and a ridiculously good chicken sandwich. Their King Cake’s are the best in town as well. Some of their other bakery items! Eh. I’ve tasted way better. But this place is the best Shreveport has to offer. Therefore, 5 stars.

This is a café that offers quality products. It is close to the LSU Health Sciences Center and they also appear to get a lot of lunch traffic from the medical folks there, as well as others. For lunch, wife had a chocolate croissant, and I was told I would be happy with anything hot off the grill. For some reason, I went with the gyros sandwich(I thought maybe I should have picked something more conventional for a bakery and after it took maybe 10 – 12 minutes), but all of its ingredients were indeed fresh and delicious. It wasn’t the most meaty gyro I’ve every had, but the meat quality might well have been the best or at least an equal. There is one big room for the seating and the two counters, and the seat spacing can be a bit tight as it is a deservedly popular place.

Greeted promptly at the door. Great food love the deluxe croissant. A little pricey $ 21.00 for breakfast but was worth it. We also bought a dozen cupcakes for a birthday while we were here. I am looking forward to munching on them later today

Great place for breakfast! Had a bacon egg and cheese croissant sandwich and fresh hash browns. Sandwich was huge(see the picture of it next to my hand) and the hash browns were excellent. Everyone in the group loved what they had and the table was about 50 – 50 between 4 and 5 star ratings. Don’t forget about the fresh bakery items in the case. Everything from the sugar cookies to the bear claws to the giant croissants to the awesome white chocolate chip cookies are worth trying! Will definitely eat here again when in Shreveport.

Haven’t tried their typical bakery fare, but discovered a delightfully unexpected secret. Stop in here to try the national dish of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The owner is from Sarajevo so they serve cevapcici, a sandwich comprised of homemade sausages and onions on grilled lepina(flat bread) with a side of kajmak, a traditional Bosnian blend of cream cheese, feta cheese, and sour cream; and ajvar, a blend of red and yellow peppers, garlic, and eggplant. I hear they also make very good king cakes.

I needed to get my car fixed across the street from this place, so I thought I would go in and have breakfast and finish up some work while I waited. I was really happy that I did! I had a breakfast turkey croissant and some coffee. It was delicious. The croissant was sooo buttery and fluffy, so I knew it was fresh. I’ll probably be back to try their other menu items.

The sandwiches are fresh made to order. I can tell you, the cookies are all brought in frozen from a distributor and only baked on-site. However, the cakes, cream puffs and eclairs are fresh and very tasty. The staff in the front is usually comprised of college kids who come/go so quickly that they’re in a perpetual state of training, which slows down everything. However, the place changed management several years ago — this has definitely been an improvement.

This is a cute little bakery. They have a variety of baked goods. From pies, cupcakes, cookies to croissants. I dined in and got the croissant with bacon, eggs, and pepper jack cheese. Delicious! It comes with a side of potatoes and those were riding and perfect.

Their MARDIGRASKINGCAKES are the BOMB!!! This is my 2nd year in a row ordering my king cake from Julie Anne’s Bakery and having it shipped here in Houston. I swear they never disappoint! Their FedEx shipping process is fast and it always arrives freshly packed with some complimentary Mardi Gras beads! I got the praline and cream cheese king cake and between me and hubby, it was gone by the next day! Can’t wait to order one for next year!

Awesome pies, cakes and pastries. They serve everything from burgers to gyros including wraps, crepes, soup, sandwiches… The list goes on. A very nice place. Prices are at the Starbucks level, but the quality is above the mass produced products.

This place is great. I’ve had lunch a few times now and it’s always been pretty tasty! Prob one of the better BLT’s in Shreveport. Everyone is super nice and it’s real easy to get too(just off I-49 and Kings).

I purchased a cake in New Orleans to bring to Shreveport for a celebration. I didn’t realize how hot the back seat of my car was and the cake fell apart. I called Julie Anne’s at the last minute to see if they had a cake I could purchase. Not only did they have a cake available I was able to pick a filling and have it decorated exactly like I wanted. The cake was ready in one hour and was just beautiful! It also tasted great. Their customer service is excellent and I will be back to visit next time I’m in Shreveport. Pick this bakery! They care about their customers!

Their cakes are sweet, flavorful, moist and delicious. Had my son’s 1st birthday cake made here and so glad I did! The lady who took my order on the phone was so friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering from here because I had called two other local bakeries where the staff weren’t friendly which made me decide not to go with those. The only reason I didn’t call Julie Anne’s first is because I had heard they were very expensive. This is not the case. I’m so glad I called because I ordered a cake that served 45 people and it was only $ 65. Wish I would’ve just called here first and not wasted my time with the other two. Anyway, the cake turned out perfect and exactly how I wanted it to be! Thank you Julie Anne’s for the great experience and wonderful cake!!! Everyone at the party went on and on about how delicious and adorable his cake was. Will absolutely recommend to others and order cakes here when I visit LA in the future.

When we lived in S’port I would come often for their cream cheese puff pastries and our annual king cake… both fabulous. we needed a birthday cake for my grandmother turning 90 in Shreveport and I asked my mom should I bring a cake from Dallas and she said she would get one from Julianne’s. I told her I did not think JJulieannes could do a pretty birthday cake and that Dallas bakeries are much better at beautiful creations and boy was I right. We gave Juliannes a picture of a bible — shaped cake and asked that it be in gold and white. The creation we received tasted great, however looked like a basic sheet cake with mustard colored sloppy piping details. Sams club can design a prettier cake… what a shame. I’ve learned my lesson. .next time I need a celebration cake back home in Shreveport I’ll bring it from Dallas.
