I can’t hate on this store it’s well stocked and organized. Is there an overwhelmingly off set ratio of staff: clients, well yes. Getting someone to help you in this store is like going to DMV on a Monday at 3pm. Anyway, It’s stocked well enough for you to use this as a show room then go online and get what you need. I can’t hate on how busy they are cause lets face it people like to shop here. We went to the store and found the perfect dinning table, but of course couldn’t get much help in the store, so we went ahead and purchased it online. I rather do everything online anyway. The table came in a week, only $ 100 delivery fee that includes the set up. Oooops I’m sorry there’s a 1 inch scratch at the corner of our sexy dinning table. Nooooooo! The delivery people are gone WTF! OK let me call Crate & Barrel ASAP! Super chill customer representative answered me promptly, I told her the problem and she asked for a picture of the scratch. I took a pic with my cell phone and emailed it to the address she gave me. Within seconds a replacement order was entered. Hassle free/drama free, you get what you pay for. We for sure will be return customers. I have nothing but nice things to say about the customer service phone representatives at C & B, smooth transaction. I included a picture of the scratch that I submitted as evidence.

Love this store. I never feel like I’m in a messy cluttered place and I can always find what I want. The food items they sell while pricey are always good. Glad they are in the Short Hills Mall. I don’t know why other reviewers didn’t feel they were greeted I always feel very welcomed here.

It’s really a 2.5, but to make my point, I’m rounding down. My fiancé(Kenny L.) and I are getting a head start on our registry, so we stopped by this store yesterday. The night before we’d gone to a «sip and scan«event at Macy’s so we were still scanner-giddy and excited to pick out more items. We were a little disappointed then at this store when no one tried to help us. From the first woman who thrust a scanner at me without helping us to get it set up with our registry info, to the sales person we gave it to when we couldn’t get it to work, to the zero sales people who helped us while we circled the store trying to find items. Literally, we were wandering in circles at one point. Couldn’t find the price tag at another. And the store was swarmed with sales people — but none helped us! We were able to use the phone app(and kill my battery) to get the items we specifically came in to add — the spirits cabinet, stemware and kitchen gadgets. There were a few things that we could have been convinced to add had there been more/better service. If/when we add more items we will not return to this location — or it will be added to our Macy’s registry instead.

Have shopped here for many years, and always been happy with the merchandise and overall experience, whether for small household items or major furniture. I have bought a lot of stuff here, and the staff has always been pleasant and knowledgeable. If you are patient, almost everything they have will eventually go on sale in the store or online, and you can score some major bargains(although it used to be a LOT easier when the economy was tanking). I just bought a set of really nice white dishes for eight people for a little over $ 100. Not bad considering the quality. The store is always organized and clean, with plenty of room to roam around and see everything. I always like to browse the section in the middle with all the cool kitchen gadgets — stuff that you will actually use once you get it home. As an aside, I remember C&B as a local, kinda funky store selling cheap housewares and lighting in Chicago back in the mid 80’s. They have come a long, long way since those days!

Love the Short Hills C&B! Everything is neat & organized. The staff is incredibly helpful & friendly — whether it be the middle of the week, or during the busy holidays. The furniture is beautiful and daydream-inducing. They have really cute Christmas ornaments every year, beautiful seasonal displays & decorating ideas, & endless gadgets & doo-dads for your kitchen that you didn’t even know you couldn’t live without.

This C&B is a bit smaller than many others but well organized. I went to browse furniture & they have a nice selection of multiple versions of the same item. For example, they had 4 Halo tables arranged in the store — different sizes & stains. So it was nice to see different incarnations of things, but it felt like they were missing quite a bit — both in furniture & in household goods. Also, it felt strange that we were there for nearly 40 minutes and no one said hello to us.

I think Crate and barrel is great, buuuut… needs to work on their quality control. Check your items carefully. I don’t at all like shopping here because I find the organization of the store annoying. Everytime I try to shop here, my head glazes over and my body takes me to W-S instead. Plus… they give me free espresso at W-S. hmm, match that C-B! dare ya!
