I love good ol’ family owned places. Overall, our ice cream was average, but I will choose family owned over a chain any day. We got a caramel sundae(very good, but then again those are hard to screw up) and a chocolate shake(not quite enough chocolate in it). They now accept credit cards which is great! There was a line of about 15 people at 8:30 pm on a Tuesday, which was great to see!

I understand that this store has been around for a while, but honestly… I’m not a fan. I ordered their version of a Blizzard, I was pretty disappointed. It was just vanilla ice-cream with Oreo cookie bits tossed around, they weren’t blended in or, even broken down. I’d rather go to Dairy Queen…

4.5 Bumped into this place as I was trying to kill time with my son before his dentist appointment. This place looks local and I think I read a sign somewhere that it has been around for 41 years… something like that! I love places like this because it reminds me of my childhood days. This place is also inexpensive. Soft serve chocolate all the way!

I’ve been here 2 times so I figure it was time to write a review. Make sure to bring cash as they don’t take credit or debit. I went with my brother Wednesday night around 7. We were the only ones there when we arrived but by the time we finished ordering there was a line and only 1 girl working. She seemed VERY bored. I ordered a hot fudge sundae, which is basically hot fudge and ice cream. Nuts were extra and so was whipped cream which I didn’t realize until after so I asked for it and she didn’t charge me. My brother got a blitz, which is sort of like a blizzard but different and he had about 3 bites and tossed it. He did not like it. Keep in mind this is JUST a walk up window so there is nowhere to sit. We went back to the car and ate there. I live super close to here so I know I will be back, but my first choice would be Sonny’s on Essington.

I love that this is a local mom and pop type place! There aren’t many of these around. It’s nothing fancy, just good ice-cream, pretty decent variety of stuff, friendly staff and not at all expensive. Will definitely keep coming back and supporting them.

I was hoping this would be more of a custard place so I was slightly disappointed. The older gentleman that was working was super nice! The line wasn’t too long. And the frozen yogurt was okay. Definitely will continue to explore the area before we come back here!

Best place town served by an ice cream expert. Owner has been doing ice cream so long he knows what you want before you do. Talk to him about what you like and he’ll whip up something special. Makes Dairy Queen look amateur.

There’s something about this joint that has had me coming back at least once a month since I first moved here in 2000. Coming from Wisconsin, I enjoy a richer, creamier texture to my frozen treats. Frosty Tips did not disappoint. I remember saving up change from between the couch cushions and birthday money just so I could buy myself a twist cone. Of course living around the block added to the history this place and I have. I highly recommend getting treats from here rather than from across the street at Dairy Queen. But just be aware that they take cash only!

I love this little place! This is nothing around to even compare to it! I love the vanilla cone with sprinkles, my kids love to experiment and they have plenty to choose from! If you’re browsing reviews, quit wasting your time and just go here…

Well worth a stop. I have nothing negative to say. Best milkshake I’ve had in years. Wife and I plan on making this a regular stop this summer

I gave this place 4 stars because it is a old-school, order through a window dipped cones, ice cream goodness. You can hang out in the parking lot or on one of the benches to enjoy your treats. But we like to open our trunk and tailgate. I take my kids there and they love it. They would rather go here then any other place. This place is cheap and has been there forever. I will always go for the local non-chain option when I can

This is my favorite ice cream place. The taste is so much better than places like dairy queen and all those other chains. The owner is very friendly and their malts are amazing!

This ice cream spot has been around for decades! –and for good reason!!! My parents used to throw all their kids in the car, after baths and in pajamas on hot summer nights(before the days of air conditioning being common place), letting us choose our favorite ice cream pleasure to cool us down and soothe our«sweet tooth»! This is still the best, freshest, creamiest soft serve around! Whether it’s simply a small hard shell dipped cone or an ooey gooey hot fudge sundae with whipped cream and nuts, you can’t go wrong here. The hot fudge brownie treat was always one of my favorites but my very first love(probably due to wanting it all) was the parfait. This towering tri-flavored delight involves chocolate, pineapple and strawberry toppings! So, if you can’t decide– that’s a great place to start.

Nice outdoor ice cream parlor that’s a throwback to the ones that existed decades ago. Its ran by an older guy and the front sign is probably the original sign. Got a great medium(about 12 oz.) turtle sundae for $ 3.50. They also got Italian Ice for $ 2.60. Even though a Dairy Queen has set up shop across the street some 10 years ago, Frosty Tips is still standing so they must be doing something right. Support the little guy and patronize Frosty Tips.

Before there was Dairy Queen & other chains, there was Frosty Tips. My family made countless trips here over the summers growing up. After each little league game, there was a good chance we’d end up here, along with half of the rest of the team.

This place has been around for ages. The owner is very nice and the ice cream is fantastic. On a hot summer day, this is the place to sit around and enjoy life. This place has everything from twist cones to their own version of the Blizzards. Support the local business and try Frosty Tips. You will not be disappointed.
