If you haven’t eaten here @ you like authentic Chinese food, this is the place. Michael is the owner, & if you don’t know what you want, let him make a suggestion. If you want a dish customized, he is happy to create it. Best grease free egg rolls in town. The sizzling black pepper steak is to die for. I would like to try other entrees but am so hooked on this one I can’t. Great service-Great value. You won’t be disappointed. Only place I have had food this good was in SFO. Try it!

If you are a fan of pad tahi, this is one of the best places that I have found, even if the place is not exclusive for tahi food

Excellent lunch buffet, reasonably priced! Noodles and green beans are superb when freshly stocked! Hot and Sour Soup is well above average. Service is fast and friendly.

There’s not much of an option for more authentic Chinese food in the northern suburbs of St. Paul. Thank god Red Ginger is around. There’s a funky little fried rice dish I always get at the more authentic restaurants: Salty fish and chicken fried rice. They have this here and to be honest this is by far the best place to get this in Minnesota. That includes Mandarin Kitchen, Peking Garden or Little Szechuan. They have a lot of other dishes that are pretty good as well, but it can sometimes be a hit or miss, but I would say that about all of the Chinese restaurants in the Twin Cities. Overall, if you are in the northern St. Paul suburbs I would highly recommend this restaurant. They also offer a weekday lunch buffet that I’ve eaten as well. It’s good enough to eat, but I’m not much of a buffet person. I’m much more quality over quantity type person.

My new favorite Chinese restaurant! The veggies are crisp, cream cheese won tons are done right, and the staff is attentive. Their Kung Pao chicken is the best I’ve had. Haven’t tried the buffet, but for the amount of food the lunch specials and dinner plates are a great deal, plus plenty of leftovers. So happy to stumble upon this gem!

They have one of the best lunch buffets, always fresh. Dinner is off the menu but the food is excellent.

We stayed at the hotel next door so we were happy to have this so close. We ordered the pad Thai(just ok. Lots and lots of dry noodles), chicken pan noodles(pretty good) but what redeemed was the chicken lo mein. Delicious flavor, lots of veggies mixed in. Being a bit of a lo mein connoisseur, I give this an 8.5 out of 10. The fried rice was good too!

Had wonderful takeout tonite. They have reasonable prices. They also have a lunch buffet during the week that is pretty good. If you haven’t tried them yet, I would recommend a visit.

We’ve both dined in and ordered takeout many times and have never been disappointed. I especially recommend the black pepper chicken.

We love to order take — out from Red Ginger. We have young children so if we are not cooking thus is our our go — to place. Huge portions — it is at least two meals — and everything we have tried as been very tasty. Our kids love it, too!

This is our go-to Chinese restaurant in the area.. . At least once a week we do take out or delivery. We always order the house fried rice(request it spicy). The cream cheese wontons are some of my favorite anywhere. After that we vary our order based on our mood — sometimes sweet and sour pork, beef lomein, chop suey, Szechuan tofu. Oddly enough, we were not impressed with the pad Thai, which gets many good reviews. They often have coupons that come in the take out bag for next time

We dined in. The waitress was nice. The place is huge and it was pretty empty. I am assuming it is busy during the day. The food was just okay. If we find a better choice in the area we will probably not come back here. Gotta try everything once. ;)

Simply delicious food, and great service! I started with an order of egg rolls that were fried to perfection. They were crispy, but not at all greasy. The chicken and vegetable filling was very flavorful. If you enjoy hot mustard, theirs definitely has a good kick to it! For my entrée, I ordered the house special chow mein with shrimp, beef, pork, and chicken. The white sauce was not too overpowering and was a great tie in for the dish. Each meat had its own distinct flavor and they all worked well together. Our server was very friendly and welcoming. I would be very happy to go back any time I’m in town.

Just ordered delivery. It was delivered within 30 minutes and came to us hot, but the quality of the food wasn’t very good in my opinion. We ordered the honey walnut shrimp and the lemon chicken. The shrimp came with a weird thick sauce on the side and was very plain. The lemon chicken was the same. Nothing to write home about with the food here. A little spendy for the sub par quality if you ask me. Won’t be trying anything here again.

Decided to try Red Ginger based on the Unilocal reviews and ordered the Pad Thai since it was high recommended by reviewers. I was very very disappointed in what I got. It was a make shift dish of noodles with a few peanuts on top, red pepper flakes scattered throughout, a dried up lime, and some lemony sauce I can only assume was supposed to make it taste good. All in all, it was the worst pad thai Id ever had. Maybe it was because it was carry out? Maybe it was because it was later(7:30pm) on a Thursday? Either way, it was a waste of $ 11 and I wouldn’t go back. But if I do, I would definitely dine in and see what the staff suggests to order.

Took my mom out to dinner yesterday, and I had a dream about the house pad Thai because it was that good… so good that I am contemplating having dinner out two days in a row. We got oyster wings(not wings of oysters, but chicken wings dipped in oyster sauce) as our appetizer, and Mom got the chicken vegetable which was honestly as good as the packaged stir fry you’d get at the store. Now, my Red ginger pad Thai though! That was the bombdiggitybomb! We had this waitress that nearly talked our ears off for no damn reason, and my mom was amused by her; I wasn’t. Overall, it was an interesting first time experience, but I’d hate to sit, and endure the chatter of that older waitress.

I really enjoyed my dinner here. The cost was reasonable and the portions were huge. I split a meal with my coworker and we still had leftovers. I especially enjoyed how fresh and not overcooked the vegetables were. The décor was old school which scared me a little at first but turned out cool in the end.

On March 2nd they stopped doing Dim Sum. I spoke to the manager and he said they weren’t sure when/if they would start again. So as it stands, it’s all menu now.

I’ve came here a few times now so here is the low down. They serve dim sum that is not as good as Mandarin Kitchen but better then Yangtze. The service here at dinner is not very good at all. I sometimes have a hard time understanding the servers and I usually know what I want to order. The dinner food quality is slowly getting worse for my taste and service is getting worse as well. Example tonight was they brought out our Peking duck, without hoisin sauce, onions or cilantro and brought out Teapots without tea cups; just the little things that make you face palm a bit. Final word: if it wasn’t for the proximity to my house, I would go to Shuang Cheng in Dinkytown. Don’t expect prompt service or a smooth dinner service.

Ok I’ve been here many times since that first review, and I have to say… this place is great. Easily my new favorite dim sum stand-by since Jun Bo(RIP). Hidden in a small strip mall between a liquor store and a Subway(I think), this restaurant is one of those places I don’t reaaalllyyy want to share how awesome it is because I’m greedy and want it all to myself. But, that’s not cool, and sharing = caring. Aside from dim sum, their authentic Chinese menu items, like golden fried sole, are fantastic, but 98% of my experiences here have been for dim sum. I don’t think I’ve ever looked at the *other menu* or buffet. Some of the dim sum all-stars are: — the eggplant and shrimp dish — shrimp ha gao — siu mai — fun guo — jian dui — steamed char siu bao — lo mai gai — congee — ham sui gao The staff is always really friendly and accommodating, and the food is very consistent and, in my recent visits, have noticed them branching out more with their selection. It’s almost like two restaurants in one. You might go there and see people up front eating cream cheese wontons and french fries, but look in the back and you’ll find many families and lazy susans. Super hidden gem of deliciousness.

SLOWDOWNORYOUWILLMISSIT ! Not the greatest location, but boy oh boy !! I don’t mind driving out of the way to come here occasionally because I am never disappointed. I was here when the old owners had this place, and I think the Honey Walnut Shrimp was better. And a larger portion. But now, WOW !!! All the Red Chinese decorations, with hand painted murals on the walls, cool things hanging from the ceilings, and paper dragon on the wall make it an Americanized Chinese experience. Works for me, because… YES Shrimp Egg Foo Yong. Done just like I like it, crispy with a rich dark brown sauce. Even though the shrimp was on the inside of the patty and not piled on top(ick), there weren’t many pieces of shrimp. However, the shrimp bites in there were large and tasty. I would rather have a few good tasting shrimp, than a whole bunch of yucky ones. I do remember more shrimp in previous visits. Hmmm. Yes, the bar is a fun fun area, and the addition of the multiple aquariums that house potential meals like crab, lobster, cod, and shrimp are fascinating. Just beer and wine here, but that is OK. I went out of my comfort zone and ordered a Tsingtao beer. AACCCK. If you drink Rolling Rock like me, you probably won’t like this hearty beer. The bar sign said Happy Time was 3 — 6pm, and included $ 2 appetizers. Nice. But …no lunch menu or lunch sized portions. Darn. The wine list is embarrassing, but they do offer a Plum Wine from China that I will try next time. I am not knowledgeable enough about dim sum and other Chinese delicacies, but I do know from watching my dining partners that the little red peppers WILL burn your Scandinavian mouth. Just sayin… MORESHRIMPINMYEGGSFOOYONGPLEASE
