The food here is great. I recommend the Mongolian beef, war wonton soup and beef chow fun. It’s delish! Great friendly staff, too.

I like fried rice and this restaurant states on their menu they have it but what you get is brown rice with a few carrots and peas thrown in. Fried rice has egg, onion, carrots, and peas. When I placed my to go order I specifically told the gentleman I got brown rice last time and wanted fried rice. Well, I got brown rice again. If they are not going to serve fried rice anymore they need to take it off the menu and replace it with brown rice plus tell you when your order it over the phone. I’ll try to find a restaurant that still serves fried rice or make it myself.

I might come back and leave 5 stars once I try their won ton soup… my fiancé and I ate here recently, and found the food delicious. A good Chinese restaurant needs to have a decent chow mein and know how to cook vegetables. This one does! I couldn’t find this«smoking section» to which another reviewer referred… the restaurant likely once had a smoking section long ago, when it was legal, but that shouldn’t bother anyone. The service was really good as well.

Waitress was great, nice chill ambiance, has a bar(busiest part of the restaurant,) food was decent(fried rice was the bomb.) Prices were average slightly under $ 10 a dish. Food came out relatively fast once ordered. PS: they do have(fried) Garlic Chicken wings, which we ordered pretty good.

I love this place, this is some of the best Chinese food that I have had in the area. The honey walnut prawns, the chicken wings, and hot n sour soup is so good. I have not had any bad things from here. Service is really good too.

Recently moved to the Seattle area and stopped by this gem. The food was amazing and the hospitality even better. I ordered the honey walnut prawns and the garlic chicken wings and they were both tasty. The honey walnut prawns had a nice crunch to them and wasn’t too sweet whereas some restaurants I’ve been to have a difficulty in finding that balance. Okay. Now the chicken. That chicken might be the best fried chicken I’ve had — no joke. I can’t describe it but it’s just so juicy while maintaining a nice crispy but not too breaded consistency. Anyways, if you’re around the area check it out! And if you’re not, make your way out there! :D

I go out of my way for the wonton soup(basic and yummy)! Have a drink while you’re waiting… I dare ya. Ummm, try not to mind the 1980 décor.

I didn’t like the Mongolian beef but the almond chicken was nice. More importantly, this is one of the very rare Chinese restaurants where the staff will actually smile! Although Chinese food is my default, I am sick and tired of rude restaurant staff and«it’s the culture» is not a valid defense. I am glad I found this place. In fact I counted how many times they smiled at us to make sure it wasn’t some sort of a statistical fluke.

Best Chinese food in Shoreline! I’ve been to Peking House many times now and it never fails to impress. The great authentic Chinese food, friendly service, and laid back family-friendly atmosphere are what I’ve come to expect every single time. Their sweet, marinated, glazed fried chicken wings are THE best I’ve had and what I order every time I go. Another dish I find myself craving are their honey walnut shrimp which are consistently crispy with just the right amount of honey walnut sauce. If you’re also a fan of the classic low mein, broccoli with beef, or Chinese fried rice you won’t be disappointed. The service is always quick and friendly, with food coming out fast and consistent every time. It’s also a great place to bring large groups(I’ve been there with a group of 20 and they were very accommodating). So if you want great food, fast service, and support a family-run authentic Chinese restaurant, I highly recommend Peking House.

I wanted to like this place. I really did. It just wasn’t good for an in-house experience. I like dated décor, but this place takes it to the next level. The air-freshener /Febreeze smell was over-whelming. It tainted the taste of my food. Would consider take-out, but only if I am really lazy and do not want to starve to death.

This place is good, you just have to know what to expect. Sometimes ordering over phone can be a little difficult, take out only, and some dishes are definitely better than others. Try the individual lunch or dinner special with Mongolian beef or chicken, general tso’s chicken, or chow mein. Plus, the hot and sour soup here is incredible. Even if you’re not a fan of hot and sour soup, seriously, try it. Also, open on Sunday!

I have been a member of Unilocal for awhile now, never reviewed until today. It’s a new year so I though to myself, maybe I’ll start reviewing instead of just reading everyone else’s review. After reading the mixed reviews on this restaurant, I was unsure whether to take the risk and go. However, I am very glad I did. If you are on the fence after reading the reviews, I would suggest just taking the chance and trying it for yourself. Everyone has their own opinions and preferences when it comes to food. Enough with the rambling, let me talk about my experience. Once I was seated down, I was given water and complimentary hot tea that was very good. My husband and I took a look at the menu which had many choices per category which was a bit overwhelming for someone who is indecisive like I am. So I did what I normally do when I try a restaurant out for the first time. I asked the waitress what her favorite things were and boy am I glad I did that! We started off with this soup that had crispy rice that sizzled as it was poured into it, it was very tasteful and honestly one of the coolest and delicious soups I have had which was perfect for warming me up from the cold outside. We then had the fried garlic chicken wings as our appetizer. Be warned, they are very hot when they get to you so you might have to wait a couple minutes for them to cool down before you can eat them. I didn’t have high expectations for them as I was expecting wings coated in a garlic sauce and they were just simply friend wings with no sauce so I was afraid they would be bland. Boy was I wrong! The meat had a nice garlic flavor to them even and I enjoyed the crispy outer skin. As our main entrees came, we realized we probably ordered too much food since the portions were HUGE! We got the General Tso’s Chicken, which is a go to for us at any Chinese restaurant, the Mongolian Beef and the Walnut Shrimp. My husbands favorite was the Mongolian Beef and General To’s Chicken, he said it was one of the best he has had in awhile! My favorite entrée had to be the Walnut Shrimp, I am not sure what is in the shrimp but I could not stop eating them! They were a crispy, flavorful, creamy, juicy and straight up divine. By the time we ended our meal, we were stuffed and happy. Definitely going to come here whenever we want to get our Chinese fix. Yes, this place is not an upscale and trendy restaurant but it was exactly what we were looking for; a casual and cheap place with great food.

Lots of food for a great price if you get the family style meals or the dinner combo! You get a little bit of everything– soup, appetizers, fried rice and entrees. I always have lots of leftovers for lunch the next day. I’ve been coming her for over three years now and have never had anything bad to say about it. Sure it doesn’t look modern and shiny since it has been around for ages, but the food is great and that’s all that matters in the end.

I would give 0 stars if I could and still do this review. They’re a very cheap Chinese restaurant and the food is terrible. They skimp on the protein and give you a ton of cheap canned vegetables when you order a meat stir fry. The chow mien was very bland. It was just a waste of money to try this place out.

Why is this still open? I’ve lived in the neighborhood over 20 years and try it from time to time hoping some improvement. Kids brought home takeout and it was greasy and they felt ill after eating shrimp fried rice and sweet n sour chicken. It’s still so gross. Sorry to be so mean.

After mixed reviews, I decided to give this place a try and grabbed some takeout. I phoned in my order – sweet & sour pork and broccoli & beef. I was told that in order to get rice with the entrees I would have to order the meal which comes with soup, appetizer and some other stuff. This was annoying as I don’t like egg rolls or Chinese soup, but since my boyfriend was sick, I went for it and thought the soup would be good for him. The bill was pretty hefty for two meals compared to what I’ve paid elsewhere. Once I got through the sketchy people in the parking lot, I entered the lobby and was confronted with the cloud of cigarette smoke from the smoking section that is right next to the lobby(aren’t there laws about that?) Let me just say, for this reason alone, I would not come back – it was disgusting. I should have returned to my car, but instead I walked in to pick up my order. I walked in just as the gal was bringing my food out, which was good since they gave me no estimated time of when it would be ready. I paid, walked back through the smokers and returned to my car in the sketchy parking lot. I live one mile away, with traffic it took approximately 3 minutes for me to get home to my boyfriend and two kids. I brought the food in and started dishing it up immediately, but it was already cold! Before I give you my review of the food, I will give you my 20 month old daughter’s review of the food. Please note, she LOVES her food and eats more than my 8 year old son. I gave her some rice(which she normally loves), two pieces of beef, a large piece of broccoli cut up, and two pieces of pork that looked like chicken nuggets. She fed the beef to the dog, ate a little bit of the broccoli, ate part of one of the pieces of pork, then threw the other one at the window. She did eat some rice, but then dumped her bowl over. I gave her half an egg roll hoping to get her to eat something. She tried it, spit it out and threw the rest of the egg roll at my head. My daughter, who loves food, pushed the rest of her food on the ground and then had an epic meltdown. She was MAD at me for this food. My review: Broccoli & Beef — 85% uncooked broccoli, 15% beef(and I’m being generous here). The broccoli was HUGE, and since it wasn’t cooked, we needed a steak knife to cut it up. This was fun trying to convince my 8 year old who despises vegetables, particularly broccoli, to eat. Now, I am not an expert on Chinese food, it is only very seldom that I have a taste for it, but since when is there slithers of ginger in broccoli & beef? The beef was all right, but there was just barely any. Sweet & Sour Pork — Gross. I get why they didn’t put the sauce on the pork, as it was a to go order, but was I supposed to cook this stuff myself? I usually love sweet & sour anything, but I love it with pineapple and steamed veggies. This had no pineapple at all, a couple of large chunks of bell pepper(one of two things my 8 year old ate without coaxing, bribing and threats). The pork nuggets were cold and tasteless. The sweet & sour sauce was cold and didn’t taste quite right. Fried Rice — I don’t really like fried rice and wish I would have remembered to ask for sticky rice, but that is my fault. The rice needed to be cooked for another minute or two as it was still a bit hard. Otherwise it was greasy and tasteless. Soups — my boyfriend was sick so he had the egg drop soup, which he said was good(he’s not hard to please when it comes to food). I gave him the hot & sour soup to take home, so I’m not sure of his review on that. Egg Rolls and BBQ Pork — My daughter was the only one who tried the egg rolls, and you saw how that went. I felt the bbq pork was tasteless, but this was the other thing that my son ate willingly. The Dog’s Review — After the four of us ceased our attempts at eating this food, we let Bella the Pug in to «do her duty» and clean up after the messy toddler. She wouldn’t even eat it! This is the dog who will eat snot filled tissues and dirty socks, but not Peking House Chinese Food? Normally I would comment on the portion size being smaller than other Chinese food where I’ve gotten a lot more food for a lot less money, but we didn’t finish what we had, so I guess its not really a problem.

Years ago when i first moved to Shoreline, I took my buddy to this place thinking it was nice. When we where served the plates my almond chicken was not the fried almond chicken, like i had asked for, but some other dish, with peanuts and chicken. as i was staving having just come back from a long backpacking trip, i didn’t really care and started eating it, i was trying to figure out what was just in the dish, then i saw something shinny, it was a fucking metal sliver! a very sharp metal sliver! About the same size of the all the pines needles that i had been emptying out my shoes for the last 4 days, I was very lucky to find it before i ate it as i would have definitely needed to go to the hospital, i called the waitress over and showed her the sliver, and she didn’t even blink. She said«oh sorry» and went back into the kitchen like it was nothing or normal. i kinda picked at the rice a bit but, wasn’t really hungry after finding a metal sliver! and left most of the food. Afterwards she brought us the check, like nothing really had happened or no shits given. i was a little in shock. I’ve told many people about this. That they could have a little more iron in their diet if they eat here. i love Chinese food and i was totally psyched about having a Chinese restaurant within walking distance from my house but i never ate here again, luckily Seattle has a great and vast variety of Asian cuisine.

I absolutely LOVE this place! It has an authentic feel with the décor and is never too crowded, but serves exactly what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant in America. Their hot-n-sour soup is heavenly, the fried rice is bomb and I recommend the mongolian beef. Not to mention it is family owned and operated, which I just think is an added bonus. The staff is attentive, but not annoying and always excited to see you. They do have a regular crowd and the bar tends to be busy, but unlike some other reviewers I do not see a problem with that or fault the business for that.

I really liked this place when it first opened but it seems to have gone downhill. You have to go through a cloud of smoke from smokers on the other side of the entrance to get in. The bar seems to be the main attraction. It is always crowded. Tonight’s food was very bland and not even average. We had some of the spongiest blandest salt and pepper squid I have ever eaten. The beef chow mein Hong Kong Noodles used to be great but now, not so much. I’ve been eating at Qin, Wonton Noodle House and Taste of Sichuan lately and this place just does not measure up.

This is like the first Chinese food restaurant you ever went to. I say that because this is the way hopefully we all like them. I like to see old décor, and things not changed too much. Carved wood, with birds, and flowers in it. As a separation wall. With right next door to the Lounge. I had, with my mom today. Hot & sour soup, Lunchon special Orange chicken, with fried rice. She had the same thing, in dinner form. Of course Served with green tea. Fried barbecued sweet pork orderve, with catsup, hot mustard, and sesame seeds. Old taste just the way you remember items. So some things shouldn’t change, just like the fortune cookie, with the bill, at the end of the meal. The food was very good, the hot mustard outstanding.(no complaints either) I’ll be back too.

We ordered take out tonight and we were super excited for a nice stay in night of dinner. We got the food home and sat down to eat and then we were sad. The mongolian beef was all onions. The wontons were also very oniony. The sweet and sour sauce for the onions tasted like they added sugar to ketchup. The kungpow chicken was not the standard you see at other restaurants and also not remotely flavorful. All the food was bland. We went back to the restaurant and the very polite girl at the front was working with us on getting a refund. But the older guy working was speaking with her saying we should only get half a refund. And then he said just under his breath, «it’s not our fault you ordered wrong.» very sad since it is right down the street from our house!

My friend surprised me with a few dishes a few months back. I was starving due to the fact that I had been working all day on a busy shift and hadn’t been able to eat, so it tasted great. By the next day, I realized that something wasn’t right about their food. I was stuck in bed and in the bathroom that whole afternoon and struggled to get up the next morning. Yikes. Funny thing is, I called my friend and she said she was sick too! It sucks because this place is literally right next to me. My roommate orders from them all the time, and has yet to get their food poisoning somehow. Just now, scrolling through my news feed, I find out my other friend who lives in the same building as me ate there yesterday, and is sick with food poisoning as well! BEWARE people! If it was only one dish that I had, I would suggest to stay away, but my friend and I ordered appetizers and a few main dishes =/

We ordered four dishes. The portion size on 3 of them were ok and the 4th not so good. The flavor on 3 of them were quite bland. It was a bit over priced but not too bad. They deserve a lower than 3 star rating(average) when there are much better restaurants in the area that also have 3 stars.

I came here on a Saturday night with my family and family friends(with small kids). We got a whole host of dishes, including hot and sour soup, you cai(or chinese cabbage), seafood tofu, cashew chicken, another chicken dish, roast duck, black pepper fried pork, and chow mien. Honestly, apart from the hot and sour soup, which was actually quite good, everything else was just meh. I’ve had much better food elsewhere. We also waited forever for our food to come out. Given, we had a large order, but given that the restaurant wasn’t even close to full, I would expect faster turnover. The one redeeming quality of this place was that they were quite accommodating to our family friends’ kids.
