A hidden gem in Shoreham. I had the surf and turf yesterday and it was great. We also had a delicious combination seafood appetizer. Great place for a quiet intimate upscale dining experience.

If your looking for a good seafood bisque or crab cakes to go. Skip this place! Over priced with no flavor. Bisque tasted like tamato soup with a touch of sea food. It was all pureed. Wich is great if your on a liquid diet. Dumb idea if you have teeth. Why would you do that? Not even a potato. I guess they don’t sell much because the girl behind the counter didn’t even know what it was. The crab cake could have used a lot of crab and more then a touch of flavor. Great ambiance of a resterant, which is great for those superficial people with no clue of good food

I love the food but the service isn’t great. Some of the staff members seem incompetent. I’ve ordered take out a bunch of times and it seems like they always forget something. Recently called to place an order, was placed on hold and they never came back. Decided to order from somewhere else after that.

This is one of the best seafood restaurants I’ve ever eaten in. Great ambiance and the freshest seafood!

Great food, if a little expensive. However, you can get around the expensive part if you sit at the bar during the week for their«bar-area only specials», especially taco Tuesday. The service is generally good and the drinks are pretty fairly doled out by the capable bar staff. All of their seafood is always fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.

Very bad customer service. There’s 4 table empty and they want us to wait for very long time. Tried to order food and nobody is responding and keep saying” give us a minute”, with a bad attitude. Will never go to this restaurant again.

Coconut shrimp 10⁄10 Tuna Tartar Chips 9.5÷10 Fish Tacos 10⁄10 Fish sampler — 8/10, probably because of the cooked carrots, what can I say?! I’m just not a fan… Service 10⁄10 Ambiance 9⁄10 — the bar tender put on the best background music, classic fun oldies! Great for men watching sports or date night, inflicted fun! Definitely a great experience, will gladly have another meal here!

Overrated and needlessly expensive. We bought fresh fish here, didn’t have dinner. Most fish were brought over from Asia, very little local and prices were high. Wasabi sauce was good. The next day we bought fish at Buoy 1, fresher and better.

This was our 4th or 5th visit to Oceans 5. We went because our previous meals had been excellent, and it was my husband’s birthday. Oh dear. Yes, our appetizers were quite good, but then the salads came. A half-assed Caesar salad: no croutons, no parmesan or asiago cheese, no anchovies, and probably no egg, just a cloying artificial dressing. We managed to eat only half. My husband’s and daughter’s entrees were fine, but the taste of ammonia in my sole a la francaise was so strong that even the lemon sauce couldn’t mask it. That’s a sign of old fish, inexcusable in a restaurant attached to a fish market. Also, at the prices they charge, they should be striving to complement each fish with the most appropriate vegetable, rather than resorting to the cafeteria style, one veggie for everyone, point of view. It’s my fault that I did not send my fish back or complain at the time, but I didn’t want to ruin my husband’s celebration. However, I did come back a couple of days later and spoke to our server, Kathy, who seemed to be in charge that day. I told her of the problems with the salads and fish, and she admitted that the salad probably would be taken off the menu. She was clearly skeptical about my sole, but she took my contact information for the manager. It’s been several weeks, but I never heard from him. So much for customer service. Okay, so we won’t be going there anymore — not to the restaurant and not to the market — and yesterday I spoke to a couple to whom I had recommended Oceans 5, and they commented that they’d been disappointed by the mussels they were served there recently and about having bought tasteless salmon at the counter. So now, given the sizes of our families, there are more than a dozen people who will be going elsewhere for seafood. Easy come, easy go.

Food was excellent and service was good up until they handed me a check before i was done with my coffee and we were there under an hr??? Way too small of a restaurant, people were staring at us as they were waiting for our table. Its a shame because I could have seen myself here once or twice a week. Last time for me!

Food was amazing. Was able to get my boyfriend to try new things and he actually enjoyed them, which is a real challenge normally. Our server was very professional and knew the menu extensively. Great experience, we will be back soon.

So few words to say. It’s really just this simple. FRESH delicious seafood, friendly service, knowledgable staff, lovely atmosphere without being pretentious, good value. This is the only place in the area I go for seafood now. Plus they have a carry out seafood market.

My fiancée and I were in the area on business and decided to come in for lunch. My fiancée wasnt thrilled with the lunch menu but me personally, I loved it! The ambiance was great filled with good music and great décor. The oysters in a half shell was my personal favorite and tge service was impeccable, I felt like we were the only one in the restaurant.

Came in with an 8:30 dinner reservation on a drizzly, chilly Saturday evening with a party of 4. We were seated almost immediately by our warm, friendly host. The cocktail menu alone was enough to make me forget that it was a soggy Fall evening with such libations like«White Sail Sangria» and«Coastal Coolada Martini.» We started with a round of appetizers that included their Crispy Calamari, Coconut Shrimp and Baked Clams. The portions were generously sized and simply delicious. I typically avoid baked clams since they’re usually overstuffed with breading but these had large bits of clams with just the right amount of stuffing. I couldn’t decide on my main course and our server suggested their two most popular items: Horseradish Crusted Chilean Sea Bass and the Pan Seared Sea Scallops; I decided on the scallops with a side of mash potatoes and green beans — I was not disappointed. The scallops were moist, juicy and incredibly flavorful and fresh and they paired perfect with the potato and greens. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area. Fast drivers beware! It can be hard to spot since the restaurants is located in a plaza/shopping center. Although the restaurant façade might not stand out, the friendly service and delicious dishes definitely do!

I’ve passed this place a few times on my way out east and heard from people that it’s good. It’s located in a shopping center and really does NOT stand out at all. I am sure they are doing good but I still feel their presentation of the restaurant itself is bad. That aside lets get to the food… So this is a seafood shop as you walk in. You can get anything you want to go home. Everything is very fresh and presented well. On the other side is a little restaurant and in the back there is a bar area. They decorated really well, it’s simple, romantic and cozy. This particular time we set at the bar and were asked to move down a seat and were given free drinks! I thought that was awesome and showed high customer service standards. I was ready to move without a free drink because it’s not a big deal. But they gave everyone who shifted a seat a free drink. Thumbs up!!! Food: Well it’s simply delicious and fresh. Obviously get the seafood since they have all sorts of it, and fresh. I got the Ocean 5 sampler(the only thing was that shrimp was overcooked). I let it slide this time LOL I also had the lobster bisque which was amazing. In the past i’ve had oysters MMMMMMMMMMMMM You will not be disappointed with food here. Service is excellent as well. Review by Sassy Natty

I like that it’s a market, restaurant and bar all in one. I have never been here before and decided to stop in after a friend told me about oceans 5. I went to the market side and was pleased with the selection not too much not too little. I bought the crab cakes and scallops. Both were yummy. I’m happy that I found a new fish market. I look forward to trying the restaurant as well as the bar.

To someone who isn’t absolutely obsessed with Ocean’s 5, I’d say, «Are you even human?» Or, «Do you know what good food is supposed to taste like?!» I went here on a busy Friday night with a friend who had been many times. We definitely should’ve made a reservation, but the hostess was so sweet about it; she even took down my friends cell number and called her about a half hour later when the table was ready, because we decided to take a walk rather than sit at the bar and wait. I could write an essay about the wonderful experience this dinner was– and that’s what a dinner should be– an experience as opposed to just a meal, but I’ll try to keep it simple… We started with baked clams and the shrimp scampi appetizer. Baked clams were chopped and uniquely seasoned– delicious! The shrimp scampi was the best I’ve ever had. The chef sliced the shrimp lengthwise, and made a beautiful presentation. They literally melted in our mouths. Salad and bread in between courses was great. As for our main entrees, we both had the same, chicken francaise, which also happens to be my favorite. It’s my go-to dish every time I’m out, and my family makes a mean one, so I’m a total snob about it. This was absolutely impeccable; without a doubt the best, most unique, francaise sauce I’ve ever had. It is a must try. A perfectly chilled bottle of Pinot Grigio added to the experience. My friend and I raved about the food so much that the chef came out to meet us. He was a doll, as is every staff member I’ve spoken to there. Our waitress was very polite, friendly, and sweet. The décor is simple, with a touch of elegance. The live music was fabulous. The bar area was hopping all night. This is a wonderful place, sure to become a coveted gem in the Shoreham-Wading River community that will remain for years to come. I can’t wait to go back! PS I’ve went to the market part of Oceans 5 for some raw shrimp to cook up Cajun style at home. They were fresh, perfectly cleaned, and made for a delicious dish.
