The rolls for our sandwiches were totally stale and day old. For a place that calls itself a bakery, pretty surprising. The sweaty guy with the visible ass crack in the NRA t-shirt was a nice touch. Slow service. A few miles down the road to the west on the left is the Phonecia diner. Hold out for that.

We are locals and frequent your establishment once or twice a month for breakfast or lunch… On 10−4−16 at 1:45 pm… Me and my daughter came in to order lunch to go for six people and desserts for a dinner party. There was three tables when we came in and they all had their food. «There was a girl with pink hair I said hello to three times. And a few other girls behind the counter… Just goofing around… After standing there for over five minutes and receiving no customer service… We drove to Kingston to the local bakery in town. And spent $ 93.27 on food and desserts. We love your bakery but sadly we won’t be coming back…

While traveling to a wedding in Roxbury, the beau and I honestly didn’t have a clue where to stop and eat. It was one of those«Let’s stop at whatever looks open» kind of situations. Pine View saved the day! The food is basic yet affordable. I got a BLT on white toast, and this bread was baked on premises. It was delicious! Coming from NYC where the sandwiches have to be as big as the buildings, most places make BLTs with about three huge folded over lettuce leaves. Such a waste since I always pull them out of the sandwich. There was a good lettuce to tomato to bacon ratio. Thank goodness. ;-) I’m glad I had cash, because no debit or credit cards are accepted and there is no ATM. If you’ve got a local check, you’re good as gold, though!

Food was great and service was fast. This restaurant is a small family owned business. They only have a few tables but it’s quite cute. The most interesting thing about the menu was«cash or local checks». They don’t accept credit cards.

A local breakfast place with colorful local characters, great prices and courteous service. I was charmed by the cookie molds(speculaus) that were hung on the wall and the breakfast was delicious. The coffee was the low point but every town needs a bakery as good as this one!

Lunch was terrible, but the danishes were very good! I’d recommend stopping for a pastry but not a sit down meal.

Great little breakfast spot along Rt 28, especially for breakfast sandwiches, omelettes and pastries. Service is friendly but seating is limited.

Cute little place in Shokan. There is an outdoor area where u can sit when the weather is nice. A sign on the door welcomes hunters. There is seating indoors. We walked in on a tuesday… early afternoon and there was no wait. They had a nice size crowd though for a small establishment. You can also sit right up at the counter… bar style. Not a fancy place at all… One bathroom was out of order and the other bathroom was clean but old and ewwww. They only accept cash. No credit cards. My dad said that when he was a kid he used to get the best bread there. It was different ownership of course. I had a tuna fish lunch special w split pea soup. Nothing special. Tuna fish was kind of dry and the bread was a lil burnt. The split pea soup lacked texture and umph! I tried their sausage and pepper sandwhich which was pretty good. Also, I ordered a danish to go which was not the best, but edible. My aunt had a blueberry muffin. I asked her how it was and she said that she likes the ones that she makes better. lol. They had a wide variety of baked goods there including bread.

Food was tasty and restaurant was clean. But service was terse. The waitress did her job but we didn’t feel welcomed. I might as well have stayed in the city.

Monday morning, 9am. Breakfast specials included apple pancakes and eggs, which were tasty and apple-filled. They do a good business, with their highway 28 location. Baked goods galore. Pleasant and helpful wait staff. Our group left full and happy. Note: cash only.

Love this place — always a perfect spot to stop in when I’m driving upstate to the Hunter/Windham area. Great breakfast, baked goods are always seem fresh from the oven, and overall the prices are great. Service is always quick and courteous. This is a place I’ve been many times over the years, and plan to be many more.
