We come here every summer at least 3 times a week. The grandkids love the suspended trains from the ceiling and the orange juice squeezing machine. Pancakes, waffles and omelets are all well done. And they have scrapple(clearly an acquired taste).

Really nice place, good food and friendly staff. We had a really good breakfast and did not have to wait at all. If you are looking for s good breakfast this is the place.

Great family place. Bacon was crispy. I was the only one at the table to finish the full stack of pancakes. Everyone else wished they’d gotten the short stack. Coffee was tasty. Orange juice looked good but was pricey at $ 17 for a pitcher. Friendly staff and the place fills up quickly. The real maple syrup was a nice touch.

This place does not need my help in getting recommendations, it’s always busy. Because they’ve the one of, if not THE best breakfasts on the island. Always make one trip here during our annual visit to LBI. Best chocolate chip pancakes in the world – as well as other dishes. Great staff and service. One weekend, the earlier you get the better, especially with groups.

We’ve been coming to the island for over 20 years. Close enough that we come down in the off season frequently. We know the whole story with Sandy and Robert Irvine. And we always want to contribute back to small business as we are small business owners ourselves. But frankly this place is more of a photo op than a good place to eat. The home fries are tasty as well as the waffles. But the name of the place is pancake house and well they suck. They are all flour with no taste. And let’s be honest it’s breakfast. So, if you feel like spending $ 5.50 for a room temperature glass of OJ, yes squeezed, after waiting 40 minutes to get seated and then 40 more after ordering. For toast, eggs, pancakes and waffles. This is your place. Oh and they are cash only and smug about it. 5 people bill was $ 78. Never again. Too many other places. Lastly, don’t ask how was everything unless you mean it. I said mediocre, average and the response was we don’t take credit cards. Cash only.

Ambiance was cute, perfect for families. Host was a bit slow and should have been more attentive to customers in front of him rather than speaking with the person on the phone for five minutes before seating us. Luckily, we arrived before the place was too busy on a Thursday morning. But, I was disappointed that they ran out of fresh squeezed OJ by 9am already. Otherwise, food and waitress were great.

For many years when the kids were little, this was our go to spot for breakfast when we hit the island Saturday morning before check in time. Well, we haven’t been here in years and breakfast yesterday insured it will be years before I go back. Yes, we were a large party but 10 people in a pancake restaurant shouldn’t be the end of the world. So they take our order and beverages arrive… so far so good. After some time goes by, our waitress tells us that part of the order is ready, but not all of it due to the limited size of the grill. We agree to take what’s ready and wait for the rest. We realize that most of us don’t have silverware. We ask our waitress and we get a «be right back» but she doesn’t come back with silverware. Then the meals come out. A few minutes later a few more and still no silverware. We ask the hostess who seems amazed we don’t have any. Anyway, they forget 1 meal and 1 side. Pancakes are dry. Service is sub-par. Bad day but too many other places to go to worry about these kinds of issues.

Came here about a month ago after a wedding in LBI. The staff was very nice and the owner was friendly. The pancake house was damaged by Hurricane Sandy and Restaurant Impossible came to remodel it. The food was good and the prices were affordable. The home fries were yummy! Get the fresh squeezed orange juice too! They had a ton of different pancakes types too! Just so you know, it’s cash ONLY! There’s an ATM in the back by the restrooms, but after the third person in our group used the ATM it was out of money so keep that in mind. The next time I’m in LBI/Beach Haven, I will be back. They really appreciated our business. :)

Food was good I had a bacon philly cheese omelet but the location was extremely overcrowded. They also did not accept credit cards.

This place was awesome! I had a large group of 15 people and we called ahead to make a reservation and the soonest availability was in an hour. Good sign for a popular place. When we got there, there were a lot of people waiting outside, so definitely plan ahead! Also, it’s cash only. The food was so yummy and actually came out pretty quickly. The portions were a good size. Not huge, but I was full. staff was very attentive and efficient. They know how to run a popular place very well.

We were eager to try this breakfast hotspot on LBI but came away a little disappointed. First, the staff, from the waitresses to the owner were very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the French Toast, Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Oreo Pancakes, and M&M Pancakes. I regret not getting the fresh squeezed orange juice, it looked yummy. The French Toast and Eggs were, by far, the best of the breakfast. The Chocolate chip pancakes had a burned chocolate taste. The Oreo and M&M pancakes were good also. The plain pancakes were just blah, they definitely needed something extra to make them taste good(I.e. Oreo, M&M, banana, etc. etc). Overall I gave it three stars after going over the meal with my wife and kids. We will, however, give it a second chance.

Good food, great service, worth a visit Family of four went here recently for breakfast and were satisfied. It was not a ‘wow’ or amazing experience — but a good solid breakfast. On the positive side… The OJ was wonderful — fresh squeezed, tangy and not too sweet. The coffee(for 2 at least) came out in a carafe leaving us free to take refills as needed. The bacon — both in my wife’s BLT and my son’s omelet — was exceptionally tasty and crisp without being dry. The blueberries in my blueberry pancakes were delicious and plentiful. And I *loved* that they offered real maple syrup with the pancakes. On the negative side… the pancakes themselves were too sweet and too crisp/dry. The ‘T’ in my wife’s BLT was an abomination for August in Jersey. The peaches in my daughter’s peach pancakes were few and far between. And my son’s omelet was an very thin layer of egg wrapped around a heap of cheese and bacon — basically an omelet for people who don’t actually like eggs. But the service was truly excellent and we loved the new décor — particularly the tile ‘orange’ wall. We will certainly go again.

I’m not understanding all the hype over this place. I just had my first breakfast here after our old standby(Mr Breakfast) closed and I will definitely be looking for a new breakfast locale. First the good: friendly waitstaff, fresh squeezed OJ, and real maple syrup. The food itself was lackluster and tasteless. The multigrain pancakes had no flavor and were dry. Toppings aren’t evenly mixed into the batter, instead just tossed into the middle of the pancake while cooking. The hollandaise sauce for the eggs Benedict was thin, bland, and unremarkable. The«coffee» is truly atrocious, and inexcusable especially since there is a decent coffee shop/roaster literally down the street they could be using. The make over the storefront itself received does look nice, but it would have been better had Robert Irvine set his skills upon the menu as well.

I’ve been coming to the Pancake House since I was a little kid. It’s one of those places that just reminds you of summer. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m sure my folks will agree. It’s always packed and while the breakfast isn’t the best on the planet, it’s breakfast. I’m not a huge breakfast guy to begin with and lets be blunt, it’s really hard to mess up eggs. All things equal, it’s pretty darn good. One reason I love this place… wait for it… wait for it. COFFEEFLAVOREDCOFFEE! Not only that but it’s that delicious diner version and for me, a particularly good diner version. I’m a fan and usually have 2 – 3 cups minimum. I love Pancake House coffee. I actually had something really good a few days ago, the Jersey Shore Wrap. Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese with Tomato. I put Egg White… but it’s a victory. Really, really good. This place got it’s behind kicked by Sandy but it came back(thankfully) and it looks great! The train is still in here but it’s moved in front(used to be in the back). I’m sure I’m the only person over the age of like 7 that looks at it but I think it adds character. In terms of service, this spot is full of some of the most welcoming staff you could want to meet. Everyone is always greeted with a smile and you can tell that the work ethic of these folks is quite rare in the restaurant business, especially at the beach.

The service and the food at this place are great. Bottomless drinks, fresh squeezed orange juice and delicious menu options are the standouts. Everything is reasonably priced. There is a reason it is always packed. Pancakes are great but so is everything else.

I have been to the LBI pancake house many times in the past years and I still must say that this has to be one of the most over-rated places on the island. Everyone says — oh you have to go to the LBI Pancake House — and every time we go I am never satisfied. Sure, the fresh squeezed OJ is good but when you order Pancakes from a pancake house the should be over the top! I ordered Pancakes with blueberry filling and I could hardly find the filing — and this is not the first time this has happed either. The coffee is sub-par and the service is usually lacking especially for such a busy place. I guess if you want to be part of the in-crowd then visit the LBI Pancake House but if you want good food I would recommend a place like Scojos which is a little further north on the Island.

Love the fresh squeezed OJ, which they fill pitchers up to the brim with to make sure you get your money’s worth. I should also note that the wait here is always MUCH shorter than at Uncle Will’s. As for the food, I really enjoyed their home fries. Unfortunately, however, the rest of my party received room temp home fries that tasted like they had been sitting in the window for way too long(my omelette came out after theirs, apparently with a fresh batch of fries). My omelette(the kitchen sink) was decent and certainly stuffed. My girlfriend got the Jersey wrap, which was surprisingly good. Overall, it’s not the best breakfast you’ll ever have, but it’s not a bad option if you’re in the mood for pancakes and eggs on the island(and don’t feel like cooking ‘em!).

Atmosphere: To put it mildly, if you put all of the muppets into a cuisinart, that would be the color scheme. I liked it. Lots of colors, lots of variety. It was really a pretty neat place. Food: UNREAL! I had the Belly Buster(3 eggs, 2 pancakes, home fries, 2 pieces of toast and 2 strips of bacon. My wife had the fried egg sandwich(came with bacon and cheese on top) and home fries. I washed it down with a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice. I opted to try some cranberries in the pancakes and I was blown away by the level of freshness of the cranberries and the overall amount of them. There were nothing but crumbs when we were done. Service: OUTSTANDING! Our waitress was Tracy(or Tracie, or Tracey) and she was friendly, attentive and prompt. She greeted us with a smile every time she came by the table. Nice job to her. We noticed that everyone that was working, was doing just that, WORKING. Everybody was moving with a purpose and I didn’t see one cell phone hanging out of a pocket. Awesome job by the entire staff. Price: I have read reviews about the high prices, but for the portions, the quality of food, and the service you receive, it is more than a bargain. Our bill, with an OJ, a cup of coffee, an iced tea, and 2 meals, was $ 26. Not too shabby. The tip should be that in itself. Review: The worst part of the experience was trying to find a place to park, but when you do, it is worth the effort. We really enjoyed the experience and will make another stop before we leave the island. I urge the rest of you to do the same!

After getting rejected by The Chicken and the Egg, Uncle Will’s, AND the Sandbox due to stupid amounts of people waiting for a table, we took a drive up the island to see what else was out there. Low and behold, we saw a sign for LBI Pancake House. Pancakes in the title and no lines. Yep, that’s good enough for me. The restaurant had a quaint feel to it and was very quiet despite almost every table being full. It was almost as if we were in a classroom whose teacher just gave a big speech about nobody has any respect — you know, the kind of lecture that’ll buy you a good half hour of silence. But the noise level picked up soon enough, but not enough to drown out the conversation of the annoying family in the adjacent table. Anyway. The employees were very nice, but they seemed a little distracted or something. It took way too long to get coffee. But after that, everything was smooth and quick. I had the banana pancakes with walnuts and my hub had the blueberry pancakes. They were both excellent and a short stack of 3 were more than enough — we got a box to go. I ordered an egg on the side and it was good too. I guess fucking up an egg is one of those things that’s simultaneously very easy and very hard to do. I just ordered it scrambled, and it was damn good. Coffee was weakish but acceptable because they gave us a whole pitcher(like the way they do it in IHOP. Oh, come on, you can’t tell me you haven’t ever been to IHOP. Unless your name is Matthew M.). Next time(if we find ourselves on LBI again) we might just skip the hot spots and make a beeline for this pancake house.
