For the type of hotel category HIE is in, this hotel is amazing. No, it is not a JW Marriott or a Four Seasons but that is not what you are paying for. I chose this hotel because when I drove up to the Hampton Inn next door I freaked out because the Hampton Inn did not in anyway represent want my ideals of a Hilton Family hotel should be. That was just from the outside. The Holiday Inn Express(HIE) was brightly lit up so that I felt safe to park and walk in the lot. Upon walking inside the hotel, I was greeted by a nice, well-kept gentleman and a bright lobby. Thank goodness! It was not skanky. My bedroom was well kept for the small expense. Fridge, microwave included. Bath & Body Works products included in the toiletries kits. Breakfast(as long as you are not a «strictly fresh» food consumer and you are willing to eat processed foods) was nice array of products for all tastes. I’m picky and I really didn’t eat much but for others I think it would work out well. Look at the pictures that I posted, I think HIE tried hard. Different yogurts, cereals, omlets, hard boiled eggs, etc etc. I was not thrilled by the elevator inspection being out of date by one month or the fact that the cream cheese for bagels were not kept refrigerated or on ice. The individual Philadelphia Kraft cream cheese pods were warm to touch and they did instruct to jeep refrigerated on the lid. My biggest complaint is that I froze in my room because they did not have a single thick blanket on the bed. I kept my A/C very moderate, enough to circulate air and to breathe. I was so cold that I slept by tossing and turning. Note to travel with a blanket or to call the staff for more blankets. Over all I would choose to stay here again if the need arises. I was simply just passing through on travel.

Nice, clean hotel. Front desk staff was very friendly. Recommend this hotel for stay in the area. Super close to Starbucks, which was nice. It is also easy access from highway.

My boyfriend and I got stuck in bad weather so his mom said she would get us a hotel room. We went to check in & the guy said he can’t check us in because my boyfriend was under 21. It was icing pretty bad so he finally decided to check us in after a long time of us trying to get in touch with my boyfriends mom. It was just irritating because really do we look like we’re there to party as a couple of underage kids? No. There were people wrecked on the sides of the road due to the ice. Aside from that because I know it’s policy so I won’t rate them on that… The heat didn’t work in our room, the elevator is sketchy, and honestly this place just needs a little more going for it to be as expensive as it is. $ 100 a night for a queen bed isn’t necessarily a «deal» in my eyes.

I had seen several negative reviews on Unilocal, but also some positive ones. This Holiday Inn was only 2 miles from an event I was attending. The lobby looks clean, parking lot looks good. Unfortunately they have serious problems. When I checked in I was given a room key. I went up to my room to find the maid coming out of it. No problem they were just finishing cleaning it(it was approximtely 5:30PM). My granddaughter asked what our room number was I told her and the maid looked confused. She said something to the other maid there and I was told that a guest was still in that room. Downstairs. The manager on duty seemed angry and as though I was bothering her. She says she will find me another room. She keeps answering the phone, helping the desk clerk, doing everything but helping a guest who has a problem. She gives me another key and I had to ask her what room it was for. Back up stairs we go only to find the key does not work. The maid sees up and says she will open the room. Her key does not work. Back downstairs we go. Now the manager is clearly annoyed as though we are bothering her. She angrily makes another key. I tell her we have already gone up twice and I want someone to go try the key first. She tells me she is goihg to call the Denison Holiday Inn and we can stay there. REALLY. I told her no if I had wanted to stay in Denison that is where I would have booked a room. A woman who appeared to be the maid supervisor took the key and went to try it. She was very helpful and polite. This stay was a nightmare because of one manager who clearly has no customer service skills. I also have to worry about the safety of this hotel if they give out keys to rooms which are already occupied.

We stayed here for a wedding for an old college friend and were happy to find that this Holiday Inn Express is quite new and very modern. There is granite in the bathrooms, although the craftsmanship was questionable. There was black in the bottom corners and the tub spout wasn’t quite flush against the wall. The bed was REALLY firm, which a lot of people like. I’m not too picky, but it was almost too firm for me. Breakfast was«OK». There were warm items, but pretty much barely warm. We didn’t make it down to breakfast until 10AM, though. There was an omlette they made that I wasn’t a fan of… but you can’t go wrong with cereal or a bagel. The coffee maker in our room didn’t work… oh well. For the price, this was absolutely a great find. I would stay here again if back in the area.

This HIE is on par with the other new ones where I’ve stayed. The breakfast is mostly made of carbs and the fitness center has only cardio equipment, but the hotel is clean and new. I found my room comfortable and the staff friendly. As with other HIEs the parking and internet is complimentary, and the baths have particularly nice adjustable Kohler showerheads. This particular location is right off of 75, so it’s easy to find and you can get anywhere within minutes. I would stay here again if I were in this region.
