The Massage Place

Alejandrina is great! First started going to her a little over five years ago on the recommendation of a friend and, boy, am I glad I did. She’s great at zeroing in on trouble spots and really responds to your individual needs. She’s also just an incredibly nice person who cares about the health and well being of her clients and has given me a lot of great tips to keep me from having to visit her too often (like using a foam roller which if you don’t use one already, you’re missing out — you can thank me later). So whether it’s just to relax or for a tune-​up after a few too many hours (or days) spent slouched in front of my computer screen, Alejandrina always sends me away feeling rejuvenated — and ready to go slouch back in front of my computer screen.
BTW — She also does shifts over at The Massage Place in Encino.

This place is hit or miss. Most of the Masage therapists are great but once in awhile you get a girl texting on her cellphone while giving you a massage.

Came here as a friend got me a gift certificate for Christmas. I called last minute and was able to get on the cancellation list, and the receptionist actually called me back within 5 minutes letting me know of an opening!
I wanted a male masseuse with a firm hand (for sports massage): GOT IT!
Paul was my masseuse and let me tell you, I was nearly crying because my shoulder was so wrecked. He really seemed to know what he was doing, and kept making sure I was okay (even though it hurt like hell and I knew it needed to). He also used a range of techniques to achieve what I wanted. Next time I’d be interested in getting a relaxing massage to see what he can really to help me relax!
Also admire that even though we started 5 minutes late, we finished 5 minutes after the next hour! 5 minutes is still 5 minutes and I really appreciate him following through.
I would definitely be back for the rate and the quality of work!
Mind you though, these people work on tips essentially. I’ve managed salons with similar payouts, so make sure you tip them for a job well done! I only had $ 22 cash or I would have left him more!

Simply the best. It’s a few bucks more but you get a fully enclosed room with top level masseuses. In particular, Janet, Gravette, and Mira are superb. I highly recommend it!!!

I only ever get massages for practicality — when my neck is so tense there’s not enough Advil at Walgreens to make my headache go away — never for pleasure. I assumed that was what I was doing today when I Unilocaled «massage» at 8:30 at night and called every number down the list praying for an opening. When I finally called The Massage Place, my only goal was to was to walk out sans nausea. Well, mission accomplished — and so much more! Stephanie was an absolute angel. She skipped the usual «massage routine» and focused on every tiny place that ached using just the right amount of pressure until I felt relief — THEN she moved on to the next spot. I have never left a massage feeling relax AND relieved. I will most definitely be going back.

I went here for a prenatal massage and it was so relaxing.
Know their prices are low, $ 45 for an hour, but they recommend a $ 20 tip. They didn’t have the belly cutout like some massage places I’ve visited recently, but I laid on my side and it was nice!

I have been getting massages here for many years. I can probably count the number of mediocre ones on one hand. Most of the masseuses here are wonderful and a lot of them have been working here for years. During my recent pregnancy I was seeing Marina for a prenatal massage every other week. She is incredible. I went back to see her after I delivered my son and it just reinforced the fact that she is very consistent with giving the best massages. The massages are very reasonably priced for the quality you receive. I have gotten massages at many different places around the area, from Burke Williams to $ 20 foot massages and this place is the best!

Great first experience here. I had a Swedish massage with Leslie. I had a lot of built up tension especially in my upper back and shoulders and she did a great job and was kind and soothing. I felt amazing afterward. Wish I could go every day!

Danny did it again. I had a deep pain in my lower back radiating to my hips. Danny pressed it out and went deep into my feet to release all lower back trigger points. This work is not for wimps or pain adverse people. Its takes stamina to withstand his deeper work. Amazing therapeutic benefits

First time massage with Ruck last night! Soooo sore after overdoing it at the gym the previous day. He asked me what hurt and I said «everywhere!!!» Awesome deep tissue massage on my back. He asked me about the pressure and I said «perfect» I was thinking maybe his hands would tire, but for a good 45 minutes it was deep tissue all the way. He ended what seemed like a form of acupressure on my feet. Could have had some deep tissue work on my feet too, but it was all good. Only taking a star off for the parking situation. Also, I work for a doctor in a «spa» like environment and our front desk is super welcoming and friendly. Can’t say the same for this place. For a no frills Massage 5 stars for sure!

Great value for their massages. If I could afford it, I’d go every day for deep tissues. The staff are really friendly and the massage therapists listen to your needs and make you feel comfortable.

I’ve tried so many massage places in the valley, and most have a nice clean atmosphere but they lack experienced masseurs that can perform deep tissue and relieve tension in the back that causes pain. Well Reggie was an expert and probably the best deep tissue massages i have had. I have chronic back pain ever since my car accident and he helped relieve all the built up tension. Thank you.

Had a massage with Tammy and it was great. I did have moments of pain but that is because I work out a lot and have a lot of knots.

Very happy with the services and staff there. I go to Marina and she’s amazing! Firm hand but understands where your pain threshold is and is respectful of that! :-)

This place is a great price with great service. Tip your masseuse well as they prices is pretty competitive. Parking can be really hard after 6pm, keep that in mind!

This was the WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Creepy weird masseuse who did «spiritual healing» on me … Meaning DIDNT TOUCH ME FOR TEN MINUTES!!! I asked for a deep tissue massage and got nothing even CLOSE to it!!! Way too intimate as well and to their credit when I complained they didn’t charge me and offered me a free massage .
Heck no though! Still having nightmares!!! Yuck!!!

Like the other Massage Places, this is a no-​frills massage spot. The savings get passed on to the consumer, but have no doubt about it, these are legit massage therapists, not a hit-​or-​miss venture like the Chinese massage places (which I love).
Had another spectacular deep tissue massage with Tammy tonight. Less than half the price of some pricy spas.
I go to one of their locations at least once a month or more.

I am so happy that I can finally see my fav masseuse here again :). Kudos to Janet… Only thing is the last couple of times I called to schedule, the receptionist was quite rude and you can just hear the attitude in her voice… I was so annoyed talking to her I actually wanted to call back and give her a piece of my mind, but I was driving so I just said forget it. Lol. Her names Elizabeth and I really can’t forget her name or voice… But aside from the snotty receptionist, I still enjoy coming here because of the therapists…
Oh and get the massage package deals… It’s like a buy 10 get 1 free. Well worth the $ if you come here often…

There’s no such thing as too much massage. I’ve never had a massage and thought «I wish they’d stop soon.» I have had less than wonderful massages, and even then I just continued hoping for the best. But here at he Massage Place, they know what they’re doing.
I went wih my husband for his birthday to the Massage Place and we each had one. He had a Swedish and I had a prenatal masage. My masseuse was wonderful. So was his. We both laughed afterwards about whether or not we snored during our rubdowns.
The rooms are very dark, which is pretty nice for getting nakies. They play gentle music and it’s very relaxing. The price was very affordable. We paid $ 47 each for one hour. Suggested tips are $ 13-​$ 15.
We definitely will go back.
