Supercuts

I made an appt for my 2 daughters w/​Marcella based on Unilocal reviews. We asked for just trims on the bottoms and slight layer to thin out their hair. She told us if she layered their hair «it would stick out everywhere.» I told her the Supercuts in South Pasadena that we had been going to for 8 years before we moved had no problem doing layers. She said nothing. At that point I should have walked out but I didn’t. She proceeded to just trim the bottoms which took 10 mins each if that.
I have never encountered a hair stylist who either does not know how to layer or is too lazy to do it. Unilocal reviews are no longer helpful.

Marcella (pronounced Mar-​SAY-​ah) was beyond professional, quick, courteous, lovely and a great listener. Made my visit very nice and enjoyable, getting me an efficient haircut that will leave me sharp for the next 2 weeks.
Highly recommend.

Worst haircut ever… Also the fastest, no detail in the cutting, barley looked at the sideburns and neck line. I am NEVER going back to this SuperCuts, and probably not going back to any super cuts. Might as well pay 30 – 40 bucks at a real hair dressers then be so disappointed each time I try a new super cuts location… Uh!!!

Katie is amazing. Simply Fantastic service. Excellent all around. (Don’t tell them but I’d pay twice as much $ for this kind of professionalism and attention to detail !!). :)

My boyfriend got his hair cut on Saturday and the outcome is shocking! The hair line at the back of his neck is uneven, it is patchy in the front and definitely not worth the money! He said his hairdresser was very distracted and in future we would rather pay more money to go to professionals.

I stopped in today on my lunch break to get a quick haircut. I was helped by Marlana and she was very courteous, bubbly and professional. She was able to see that the hair style I have had wasn’t working for me as well as I wanted. She helped me to pick a new style and I love it! She also helped cover my grey hair with a natural looking color. Her hair washing and scalp massage was very relaxing and she was pleasant and very nice to chat with. I stopped in because the shop was near my work and now I have found a place and a stylist to use every time!

I was in desperate need of a cut, so I decided to give them a try. What a pleasant surprise :). They knew right off the bat that I was going to donate my hair to «Locks of Love» and that the cut would be free, but that in no way diminished the time or attention that Indie spent on me. She asked enough questions to make sure she knew what I wanted, and took the time to show me in the mirror how short she was planning to cut it. She was careful, thorough, competent and friendly. She took the time to blow it dry enough to show me how to style it, and when I woke up this morning, it looked just like it was supposed to! In addition, I didn’t have to wait and they have a parking spot in the back :) .
All in all, an outstanding visit, and I will go back :) !

If you donate your hair to Locks of Love, Supercuts will cut and style you hair for free. Today I did that and got a great stylist named Natalie. She listened to what I wanted and explained what she was doing step by step. She was very friendly. I would recommend her and will go back. Which is saying a lot since I am very picky to who I let cut my hair.

I went in today to get a TRIM. I asked for 1 inch off due to some damaged ends but the lady cut off 3 inches. I wonder why i can’t muster the courage to tell her she did a bad job. I feel like I need to go to an expensive place just to get a damn trim. Why can’t they do their job? I am constantly disappointed by these mom and pop and chain salons. AWFUL skills. Seriously pissed right now. You lost a customer!

It’s really hard to find a salon in LA where a woman can get a cut and walk out for under $ 80-​$ 100 after tip. I had found a couple stylists in the $ 40-​$ 60 range that did good work but they never seem to stay at the same salon for long. Eventually I decided to grow my hair out and start trimming it myself. I actually got pretty good at trims and layering. But, when I decided to go short I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it on my own.
So, after calling all the neighborhood salons and not finding one that would cut my hair for less than $ 80 I decided to consider Supercuts. My husband has been to this location a number of times and Marcella does a really great job with his hair. I noticed other female Unilocalers giving her good reviews so I set up an appointment. I was going for a big change and so I brought in some photo ideas. She went over them with me and together we decided what would work best. She worked gradually, not chopping a bunch off at once, and kept letting me check to see if I liked the length and the layering. After an hour it was finished and I was so happy with the cut and the overall experience. The cut cost $ 18, and after tipping I was still under $ 30. My only regret was that I didn’t give her a more of a tip.

Loly is simply amazing, so five stars for her.
I’m not sure who the receptionist is but the fact that she can’t manage appointments correctly (I’ve had to wait because she overbooked 3 weeks in a row) forces me to dock two stars off.
I hope they can get the organization together, or I may be forced to find a new place.

You get what you pay for, I need to find a more expensive place.

Andrea is awesome! I have gone to her several times, cuts really nice, and does a great blow dry! This is by far the best super cuts I have ever tried. Sometimes the wait is long, but hey, a good haircut is hard to find. LOL

Having been to over 20 different Supercuts, I can say the quality here is noticeable. I have tried, per Prince C’s advice, Andrea, Marcella, and Denisse. THey are all great. I would choose any one of them. The price has increased to $ 16.00. sad. even in this recession.
I will be going back for all my hair cuts as long as they work there!

Andrea, Marcella and Denise are friendly and very experienced stylist. You’ll want to make sure to call ahead to get your name on the list. Andrea is normally in high demand with a line waiting to get in her chair, but worth the wait. I’m never disappointed by these 3.
Metered parking on Ventura Blvd or parking in the residential area. Plenty of cafes, coffee shops and boutiques to keep you busy if you end up waiting a while.
