I may be unfairly biased towards this little pizzeria because I live within walking distance, but I think it’s incredible. With pizza and with life you get what you pay for, and this pizza is worth it. Quite often I’ll daydream of Mazzarino’s and will enter a meditative state of bliss.

I love this place. The bread is amazing. I only order food to take with me so I can fill up on this bread. Usually my Billie still over 50 bucks cause the food is also good. The service is so/so. That is probably why the rating is low. They need to work on that part and they’d have a 5 star place.

You’ve got to be joking. When I order Chicken Piccata, it’s usually prepared with some light breading and then sautéed. There was no breading on these cutlets. They look like they were just boiled in water. Just thin, rubbery, sickly white chicken pieces. Thankfully I ordered a bambino pizza as backup. The dough was flavorless –consistency tasted like they used too much baking soda. So basically I ate about 10% of what I ordered and had to throw the rest out.

Pizza Slices: So good. So cheap. So friendly. I always thought this area of RIverside and Coldwater Canyon was a food desert because everything is so expensive(Hugo’s Tacos burritos cost 6+; Whole Foods charges food for an arm and some legs; Monster Thai has a $ 10 card minimum). Nope! They have pizza slices ALLDAY — perfect for workers with only 30 min lunch breaks! NOMINIMUM for credit card; although, I usually try to bring cash(after getting a yogurt at Whole Foods with cashback) so that small businesses don’t have to pay 3 cents per transaction to Visa. Pizza slices are absolutely delicious and rich. Each has generous portions of sauce and oozing mozzarella cheese. Décor: Don’t be afraid to enter like I was. The entrance window looks into a(cavern-like, stuffy dining area, like your grandmother’s) but just go to your left to the bar area and get your slices there(I am no feng shui expert but the position of the odd ramp into the dining room has some negative energy bubbling because the dining room acts as an obstacle to the pizza slices, me thinks). Quick and easy. I got out of work at 9pm and man, was I happy to get pizza slices so late. Photos still pending because I gulped my four slices within seconds. Hmph.

Reviewing the Yoghurt: sell the fancy chairs and buy some whipped cream! They spent all their money apparently on their décor including a big sign but ran out of chocolate and had very few favors. The worst part was how nonchalant the guy working there was about making customers happy. Get it together, guys, you have a nice restaurant but the frozen yoghurt is a huge disappointment :-(

I have been a patron of Mazzarino’s for over 10 years. Sadly, with the new management, the quality of the food and service have gone downhill. A group of four of us who used to frequent the restaurant, but have been kind of disappointed of late, decided to give it one last chance. We won’t be back. Two of the meals(cioppino and chicken parmigiana) were actually ok. The third was edible, though not great(spaghetti marinara). The fourth(eggplant parmigiana), was pathetic. The side pasta(which also used to be a more generous amount under the old management) was cold, and you needed a microscope to find actual eggplant under the sauce and cheese. We sent it back. We also let the manager know how disappointed we were. I was stunned. He seriously looked like he couldn’t care less… which I can pretty honestly assess be didn’t as he didn’t even check to see if the second try was better — which it was NOT. They added even more sauce and cheese, but the eggplant was a little piece sliced about as thin as deli sliced meat. Inexcusable. The waiter asked if it was better. She said no, but had given up. Nothing was done. Well, we’re done with Mazzarino’s. It’s not nearly as crowded as it used to be either, so I guess a lot of others must agree. Too bad — it used to be a good restaurant.

I went to this location two weekends ago after driving past this estasblishments for months. I just wanted once slice of pizza and OMG!!! I was so impressed how they treated me like I was the Pizza Princess from the time I walked in to the time that I walked out. Steven offered me a fresh mini pizza for the same price as 2 slices and then gave me yummy garlic bread and complimentary soda while I waited. I enjoyed the young fella at the bar watching the football game who coincidentally was named Steven too. He made my wait time go by super fast… and wait the ICINGONTHETOP!!! They have a self serve ice cream establishment connected and i got to sample all the flavors… Yes… two thumbs up!!!

Nice environment. The bar isn’t bad. The staff is nice. The place was clean. The slice of pizza was just OK. It wasn’t fancy, just pizza. I had the pepperoni and it wasn’t greasy. The problem was it was’t really hot either. It came barely warmed and could have used more time in the reheater. Not such a bad thing so I went ahead and ate it. The dough was stiff, the cheese was waxy and it just wasn’t fabulous. The cheesey bread they make is pretty good and worth trying if you like this sort of thing. The pizza wasn’t terrible and I’m not trying to bash the place. Let’s say that if the pizza slice was any less it would have fallen into the drive in pizza or frozen pizza realm. I didn’t try the lasagna and have read good things about this, so I will be back at some point to try this. As for a place to grab a drink with a friend and a slice before you walk home, it’s OK.

This was my time at this restaurant. The service was amazing. Peter was great. He gave us our first pizza slice but when freshly made pizza came out he gave us a new fresh slice. It was very thoughtful. I came at lunch time but I look forward to coming back for dinner. It was a great experience!

My sister and I just got dinner for delivery. Took 1 hr and 10 minutes to get here. Guy came here and first I was confused about the recipet. I paid my half with a card over the phone, my sister was going to be paying for hers with cash. The receipt didn’t properly show the distinction of a split check. Totally Confusing. My sister only had a 20, and the food was only 10.95. He took her 20 and when she asked for change he said he didn’t have much on him and«what was she thinking about needing back» She said«5 or 6 dollars» and he took out his wallet and said he only have 4 dollars on him… She paid 16 dollars for a salad. On top of that, my meal wasn’t even warm. Very disappointed. My business was lost and I feel taken advantage of.

My son has recently ordered food from here for delivery. It was prompt, food was great and since their prices are reasonable — wha can be better? I am very happy to recommend this place to anyone who likes Italian home made food.

Still love their pizza but the hot wings took a turn for the worse. It saddens me to take a star away… but I must. The new wings are a frozen saggy mess. Yuck! I pray to the pizza gods that they go back to the original wings.

This might be my new favorite Italian restaurant in the valley. Their garlic bread is outrageous as is their chicken Parmigiana … This is the perfect place to have dinner with your wife and kids!!!

I ordered delivery yesterday and I got a cheese pizza a penne with pink sauce and a Caesar salad with chicken. Friends came over and it was delicious. Pizza was hot. Pink sauce is the best I’ve had in years. Hooray!

Since pizza does not work for us due to the unfortunate dairy allergy, a variety of yummy pasta dishes on the menu is a must for Italian. We love Angelino’s but the wait there can be long. This leaves the crew always on the lookout for a solid, casual but delicious local go-to Italian. A tireless hunt… It seems now we have a hit! When my burger fiend son utters, ‘even better than a burger,’ we know it has to be a winner. We ordered a variety of dishes and all were great. Service was kind– they toasted some plain breadsticks for the boy without a fuss :) Topping it off was that it’s directly connected to a cute froyo shop next door. My kids were downright giddy. We will be back!

My girlfriend & I have eaten their for 5 years, mostly under the old management. This weekend we ordered a pizza, half garlic & cheese, the other half mushroom & onion, thin crust & well done, crispy. The pizza was TERRIBLE! Not very thin & way too much vegetables, not enough cheese. We also got 2 Italian subs. Not great either! She called the store tonight & spoke to the manager. He said he was sorry, but offered us nothing except his apology. We don’t need free food, but his ATTITUDE stinks. We will go to Lido’s from now on. They have lost a good customer!

Let me start this off by saying that I have been craving lasagna for the last 6 months, but I haven’t acted on it. You can’t just go have lasagna anywhere. It has to be the right spot! I was very hungry after my acupuncture appointment, so I stopped here because it was one block away. The service here was friendly, attentive, and impeccable. The staff was just fantastic from top to bottom. Our bread basket was constantly filled. My weird request to turn a cappuccino into an iced cappuccino in a tall glass was effortlessly fulfilled. They even gave us the lunch special prices, even though we were clearly 45 minutes past that allotted time. The minestrone soup was pretty bland, but that was excusable because that wasn’t the reason why I was there. It was just filler until the lasagna arrived. When the lasagna arrived, my 6 month craving was instantaneously satisfied! It was delicious. I even told the server that he didn’t even need to wash my dish because I was going to clean it myself. Lol. This may end up being my regular post acupuncture treatment good spot!

We love splurging on dinners here, whether it’s take-out, delivered or in the restaurant. Service is always good. It’s very clean, too. The cheese bread is addicting. I try to balance it with an order of sauteed garlic green beans or garlic spinach. We’ve never had a bad pizza there. Toppings are flavorful and not overly salty. We recommend the eggplant with sausage and onion or pepperoni with bell peppers. Their refreshing Greek salad has plenty of feta cheese, olives and red onions. The dressing is flavorful and not too tart or oily. Portions are ample, providing left overs for the next day’s lunch. Street parking can be tricky depending on the time of day, but it’s free. No annoying parking meters is nice.

I cannot begin to tell you how handy Mazzarino’s came in for Valentine’s Day. My friend and I were craving Italian food last night for our girls’ night in. We wanted both pizza and pasta and luckily – this place offers both in good quality. We ordered a chicken parmigiana pizza, baked penne with broccoli, garlic bread, coffee ice cream and chocolate mousse. Even though the order arrived late, the food was still warm and the desserts were still cold and tasty. My personal favorite was the baked penne and the garlic bread. It was just the right amount of cheesy and flavorful that complemented the garlic bread. The pizza was wonderfully made, and was very large worth what my friend and I had paid for. I docked it one star because the order came in about 20 to 30 minutes later that it stated for its delivery time online. But for it to even have online ordering is so convenient. I will definitely order here again, since it’s hard to find quality Italian places that deliver food :)
