Armany has been so wonderful to me and my daughter.

Let’s face it… Math is challenging. We have two daughters (9^th grade and 6^th grade) who need that extra attention when it comes to Math. And Mathnasium has been amazing. From Armany, who runs this location, to each of the tutors, this is a very dedicated team who truly truly cares. They are engaged and they are encouraging. They are as invested in your child’s success as you are. Our daughters look forward to going. And, most importantly, we are seeing great improvement in both girls’ math scores. Mathnasium gets an A+.

I couldn’t say enough good things about Armany and the whole staff at Mathnasium Sherman Oaks. Boubar, Jomar, Janelle, and the rest of the tutoring staff are truly a caring, patient, and knowledgable group. My son brought up his grade average to a 96.0 in Math and its all due to Mathnasium. They always go above and beyond and I thank them for helping my son achieve his goals and thrive in Math. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

I am so utterly impressed by Armany and all the other tutors at Mathnasium in Sherman Oaks. They are professional, personable, friendly, intelligent sprinkled with a dash of lightness. They have a way of making learning fun for children in all age groups. So much in fact that my son looks forward and actually wants to go to Mathnasium. In addition, they offer incentives instilling children to want to expand their knowledge and skills. For every school out there, when a parent asks for a recommendation for a math tutor, there first and only choice, I believe, should be Mathnasium.

Super friendly, super responsive, super-​effective. Our daughter has gone from hating math and constantly struggling with it, to seriously thinking about a mechanical engineering career. David and his team have really helped to build her confidence and her skills.

My kids love going to Mathnasium. My daughter is 9 and has been going on and off for the past year. She has learned so much and gotten really confident with her math. My 8 year old now asks to go. Yes both of them ask me to go am I going to say No I think it’s great that they love it there makes my life easier esp if it’s a math problem that I can’t explain. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the great people at Mathnasium in Sherman Oaks. It starts with David DeVandry, who not only is a pleasure to work with, but consistently goes out of his way to help and make the customer (client) feel valued. David even forfeited some of his personal time to come in and help my daughter with her SAT preparation. Another real attribute: David pairs students with tutors that they «mesh» with, which really helps in the communication between teacher and student. These guys are GREAT!

My daughter has been going here since January and we really like the environment; Better yet, she really enjoys it and has asked on several occasions to stay longer than the typical hour which we set aside. David is awesome and so is the staff. The rapport with their students is very good and the interaction fantastic.
We have seen steady improvement in her math grade and recently she got her first perfect score, ever, for a math test!

David is absolutely a joy to work with. David and his team are brilliant and a joy to work with.

David is excellent with customer service, communication, and most importantly the math. He hires excellent teachers as well. My son has been helped tremendously. Please know this is for extra help, remedial AND acceleration.

There are few things more frustrating for a parent than being unable to help a smart child who is failing in math. When I walked into the Sherman Oaks Mathnasium with my 11 year old, I was skeptical that he could get the personalized attention he needed in a setting that caters to many children at once. Then we met David. He was attentive, enthusiastic and accommodating. He has helped my son immediately recognize that he is capable and bright and is indeed «good at math.» This translates to my son wanting to solve problems and feeling proud of himself. Any parent or educator knows that when a child loses confidence, it’s all downhill from there so, I can’t overstate how much it means to have found the right tutors at the right time. There’s a level of commitment and care here that is impressive and inspired. As someone who is inept when it comes to math, even I second guess my preconceptions when I walk in there. It looks like fun, not torture and it looks like the tutors are all enjoying their work. I can’t say enough good things about David and how he runs this place. In a very short time, my son has gone from «hating math» to actually beaming with pride at what he has accomplished. By the end of this school year, I anticipate, he will be excelling now that he has a supportive place to go that gets him, hones in on what he needs and helps him stay on track. I highly recommend this Mathnasium (have no ideas what others are like) and David is a gem.

Mathnasium is amazing! David has been extremely helpful through the whole process. My son really enjoys being there, and his grades on test have been going up. The staff are very knowledgeable, and caring people. We are very happy, and we highly recommend them.

My daughter was falling behind in math (she is in 4^th grade), so I decided it was time for a tutor. I spoke with a few tutoring companies and decided to send her to Mathnasium in Sherman Oaks. Even though it is a bit of a drive for us, it is well worth it. The staff is great and very helpful. My daughter has only been attending for a month now but I can already see a difference in her math work.

How to do math: step 1.) write down problem, step 2.) cry. This was always my mindset on how to do math because I could just never get it. When I started Mathnasium a year and 3 months ago I went in with the conclusion that I would never be able to be good at math, I had been getting C’s in math since the 5^th grade and it had kind of become routine that I just wasn’t ever going to be good at it no matter how hard I tried. Entering the 11^th grade with the help of the wonderful Teachers from Mathnasium on my side I got my first A’s in math since Elementary school ending both semesters with one of the highest grades in my class. My biggest struggle with Math wasn’t that I was bad at it it was just my low self confidence and my anxiety that held me back. Mathnasium taught me math but it also gave me confidence to know that I can do it on my own. The teachers are all smart and nice and not only wonderful tutors but also great friends. I am so thankful to have had Mathnasium in my life because for once in my life math wasn’t a big struggle that made me nervous every time I thought about it. Mathnasium actually makes math fun, with kids of all ages to bond with, and games to play, and teachers who talk to you Mathnasium always made my day. (and Dave is a wonderful owner. everyone should go talk to him, seriously he is great.)

I am so thankful to have Mathnasium in our child’s life. She began only a month ago saying she was too stupid to do math and since has become more self confident and says things like, ‘i get it now’, and ‘I can do math’!
The teachers at Mathnasium are knowledgeable and seamlessly go between different levels of students, able to help each with the well thought out program which puts the child on an individual path and gives them written and oral problems to solve. This method has allowed my child to visualize math in her mind. You can not fail, you just go to where the last information you got was lost and they help learn it till it sticks.
The atmosphere is friendly while the kids sit facing the room and can see all around them which connects them to each other and lends to play after the lessons are complete. My daughter loves to play chess and Math Sum after each lesson is done. She also loves to participate in the weekly question which earns her a raffle ticket for goodies!
My daughters new found feelings that she can do math is priceless! After all, just knowing you can is the first step to success at anything. This is the best investment we have made and the return is immeasurable, her self confidence is self evident. Thank you staff at Mathnasium Sherman Oaks!
