Great breakfast place(never been for lunch). The only downside is is that there is always a wait :(sometimes I’m not sure if the food is worth the wait. Their crunchy French toast is really yummy(it’s rolled in Frosted Flakes and vanilla) and comes with berries and whipped cream. Also their breakfast carbonara and their omelette with goat cheese and mushrooms is delicious(Burgundy omelette). The breakfast sandwich and breakfast quesadilla are great options too. Overall, not absolutely amazing but a great breakfast place in the valley if you’re okay with a wait

How have I not reviewed this before. Srsly. Best french toast eva. Of course. Eggs Benedict — totally worth the try. One of my favorite breakfast diners around. It gets busy so get here early if you can. Weekdays are great since everyone floods in sat/sun.

Good place for brunch, I had the southwest chicken sandwich with ranch chipotle dressing, so delicious. Coffee at Blu Jam is absolutely heaven. Their signature French toast are amazing. Wait time to be seated can be up to an hour sometimes. I’ve been here several times and there’s always a wait time. After 2 pm wait time is not so bad

Awesome French press coffee. The flavored are unique and tasty. I want to try more from the menu soon on my next trip.

This was probably the best brunch I’ve ever had, and I’m a serious brunch fanatic. Came on a Sunday around 11 and were told there was a half hour wait. 50 minutes later, we were seated on their outside patio. The service was fast and our iced water was constantly topped up. We’d seen a million plates of the cereal french toast coming out of the kitchen so we decided to get a plate to share as a starter to see what all the fuss was about. I rarely eat french toast but honestly I would come here every weekend for this stuff. The crunchy-ness is delicious and the vanilla bean sauce is to die for. It was pretty filling even sharing it, but I had ordered the Norwegian Benedict. This was absolutely delicious too! The Hollandaise was clearly homemade and had a tiny hint of a kick from the dill. The eggs were perfectly poached and for once the fruit side(instead of toast & potatoes) was actually quite generous. Didn’t go for tea because it was $ 5 which is way overpriced. However I would definitely come back and share the french toast and get a juice.

One word: DELICIOUS. I went with a couple of friends which made it easier for me to try out different dishes on the menu. The first dish we tried was the crunch French toast and it was perfecttttt. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The sauce was the cherry on top. I had the breakfast quesadilla and it was hearty! If you’re looking for something to fill you up, this is the dish. I tried the Norwegian Benedict and it was just like any Benedict I’ve tried at other breakfast places. The Italian breakfast… Omg this was on some other level. It’s basically risotto with poached eggs on top but, the flavors and spices they used made it amazing. The side potatoes are to die for. They were well-salted and had a crisp to it. I was so full after eating my dish but, I couldn’t leave those potato bits behind. I had to have it ALL! Overall, I loved everything here and would definitely come back

Pros: Good food, a little pricey but service is fast and pretty nice — good cup of java and make sure you come hungry cause the plates are huge. Cons: Don’t expect to have a conversation here though, because everyone is, its pretty loud, similar to Hugos and also expect a line.

Blu Jam is my «go to» place for my monthly breakfast club after our hard earned work out at Barry’s Bootcamp down the street… I was here when the first breakfast club started and I’ve frequented to attend when work schedule permits. Every single time, the service is stellar for servicing a large group in their outdoor patio. Every staff member has a welcoming smile and genuine engagement in conversation with you. The Blu Jam in Shoaks… aka: Sherman Oaks, rocks my world. My favorite to order as of the last several month visits is the Spicy Sicilian Tofu Scramble… So freaking good!!!

Weekend Brunch Review Their weekend brunch wait is usually bananas but I finally had an opportunity to experience what all the hype is about. We had a group of 6 and they took care of us. The service was fast and friendly. I had the Muscle Beach plate, shared the Crunchy French Toast with the group, and enjoyed some French Press coffee and ice coffee. All of the food was delicious and just perfect. I made myself feel healthy with the Muscle Beach plate, only to stuff my face with the french toast. No self control on the sweets, but it was worth it. The pressed coffee was great and worth the upgrade from regular drip or ice, although that was also good. Trust me when I tell you this, the hype is real.

This is a trendy spot, the food was decent but not memorable. I believe the chicken breasts are pressed and not freshly cut. For the price it should be fresh cut chicken. The server was a little behind as it took 10 minutes to get water and coffee after ordered it. Then there was no tea spoon to stir the coffee for another 5 minutes. Bottom line I hope to have a better experience if I ever come back.

Get here bright and early! While trying to meet up with my friend before her flight back to SF, we decided to find a nice café near her. This place has rave reviews, so we decided to give it a try. **WARNING** There is already a small line before the café opened at 8am on Sunday. Luckily, I was able to get a table since this place filled up after 30 minutes of opening. I decided to go with a Norwegian Benedict which is smoke salmon with poached egg on a English muffin. You have a choice of potatoes, fruits, or salad. Even though it seemed quite small, it was really good. The eggs were cooked to perfection, not too runny or over-boiled. My friend went with vanilla French Toast. It has about 8 mini slices of French toasted topped with blueberries, strawberries, and powder sugar and a side of maple syrup. She really enjoyed it and ate the whole thing in about 15 minutes. Their signature dish is the crispy French toast which I am hoping to try next time I come here! There is a mini parking spot behind the café, or go for steer parking. I will definitely return here when I get the chance!

**3.5 stars… good selection of breakfast. Got the classic french toast and brunch carbonara. The french toast was solid and the brunch carbonara was good too; however I remember liking the carbonara much better when I visited the Hollywood location. I think this one had a bit too much pesto taste to it… but overall still pretty good. Great french pressed coffee as well. Came here at 9am on Sunday and was able to get a table right away. We took the last parking spots in the lot so I would get here earlier if you want to avoid the crowds on a weekend.

Was surprised at this place. I’m not really a breakfast person, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. The staff is very friendly, and the first thing they do is offer you a look at their juice menu. I’ve yet to see such an interesting selection of juices, all fresh squeezed, at any establishment. I order a ginger orange juice, and it was amazing. I mean it’s just juice, but the attention to detail of this establishment is astonishing. I then proceeded to order the Chilaquiles and added steak to it as well. It was very enticing, filling, and well made overall. I’ve tried this dish at many establishments, and this was probably one of the best I’ve had. Then we ordered the French toast, which is what they are known for; if you haven’t tried it, you need to make the trip and try it. It gets busy at times, so plan ahead for a bit of a wait. I appreciate that management was walking around, making sure their experience as this establishment was what they were expecting.

Loved the atmosphere once we were seated. Our waiter was so nice. I ordered their ginger shot and coffee, which was a great way to kick off my day. We ordered the crispy French toast and the brunch carbonara. OMG, sooooooooo good! The servings are good sizes so we ended up taking them home. I will definitely be back if I’m ever in the area. Love this place!

Great brunch spot and there’s parking! I loved the melrose location so it’s great to have this one some what close by me. My go to order is the migas and crunchy French toast. I love the migas and it’s packed with flavor and comes with three corn tortillas. Their crunchy French toast is very good. I love the syrup they give you because it’s not too sweet! The portion size is pretty big so I always share a plate with two people. The service could be better. Its a little slow when they get busy.

I had seen the Melrose location before, but I heard there were long waits so I had never tried it. While I was in Sherman Oaks for business, I saw that there was another location! On a rainy(half the customers were drenched) day, the wait was still 45 minutes! We weren’t sure if it was worth it, so we went to pick up some coffee. We ordered the famous crunchy French toast and breakfast carbonara. The carbonara was not like anything I had had at other restaurants before. Gluten free and rice based, it was seasoned well, mixed with crispy bacon, and delicious poached eggs on top. My sister and I devoured this dish. The French toast went beyond our expectations — I didn’t mean what they meant by ‘crunchy’ until we received the dish. It looked like deep fried French toast, but unlike how it looked, it tasted light. The sweet fruits and sauce on top balanced out the French toast well. I highly recommend both dishes. If you’re not dining alone, sharing various dishes would satisfy your taste buds! Shoutout to Craig for your awesome service.

Solid 4 stars! Cozy spot on Ventura Blvd. for a breakfast date. My boyfriend & I were seated immediately & were given ample enough time to decide what we wanted to order. We received a warm greeting from our server Elena & she even told us her personal favorites. For drinks, we ordered the Guatemalan French press & «Kamil’s favorite juice» which includes up to 3 juices: apple, carrot & ginger. The French press had enough for 4 cups of coffee so I suggest sharing it. The juice was fresh & healthy but very gingery so opt out of that if you’re not a fan. You can mix & match the juices if you either want it on the healthier or sweeter side. The reason for my docking of 1 star is because my fork wasn’t washed properly, it had a piece of dried food on it that turned me off at first. Elena ended up switching out my utensils & apologized so no real harm done. On the other hand, our entrees were delicious! My bf got the Breakfast Quesadilla & I got the Migas. I always seem to lean towards a Mexican inspired breakfast so this was perfect for me! It had spicy scrambled eggs with jalapeños, beef chorizo sausage, salsa, bell peppers, tortilla chips, corn tortillas & a side of potatoes. Beware! The portions are humongous, maybe even enough to share(us fatties didn’t). Of cooouuurrsssee we had to off set the savoriness of the food with the sweetness of the crunchy French toast! This is their signature dish so I highly recommend! We didn’t even need maple syrup but it would’ve tasted even more amazing with condensed milk versus their vanilla bean sauce. The sauce was still yummy but the consistency was too runny for my liking. Remember how I said the portions were generous? We even had enough to take a whole box full of food home. Yay for leftovers! When we were heading to the car, the line was getting rediculous so I suggest coming early like we did. Enjoy!

Yummy! Been dying to try Blu Jam Sherman Oaks for a couple of years now. Fell in love with the LA location and never got the chance to visit the SO location till now. Do you want the French pressed coffee the waiter asked me a couple of times? I got the hint cuz I was actually just going to order the regular coffee. Score… yummy coffee! Breakfast served all day… yes for the Crunchy French Toast. I will get that as a side dish for any meal I have at Blu Jam. You gotta have it. I am a Split Pea soup lover and Blu Jam has one of the best. Plenty of private parking, fast turnaround on the tables and wait times, good service and always a good meal(omelets, burgers, sandwiches, breakfast, split pea soup and the CRUNCHYFRENCHTOAST). Patio or inside seating.

Great brunch spot! Split the Norwegian eggs Benedict and the famous crunchy French toast with the hubby — perfect to get in savory and sweet flavors! Topped it off with a side of bacon strips for an awesome meal. Would highly recommend these all. Popular place so expect a wait. Has indoor and outdoor eating areas. Service was good and enjoyed the food.

Hands down one of the best breakfast experiences of my life. Blue Jam Café really knows how to make a delicious and highly enjoyable breakfast. Everything about this place was great. The service on point and we never had to chase down our waitress because she was highly attentive throughout our meal. Our coffee’s and water was never empty. The crunchy French Toast was my absolute favorite. So full of flavor and served with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Every bite was amazing and sorry to my friends but sharing was not an option, well maybe just a few bites. The eggs Benedict’s and potatoes, amazing as well. I don’t know what they put in them potatoes but my goodness were they good. And being the greedy little me that I am, well yes sharing was an option in this case. The pancakes and my goodness we had to order them although we were already full, but yes flavorful and simply tasty. We ended up just taking a few bites but yes they were so good. The vanilla chai latte was perfectly made and full of flavor but not super sweet. Wow every sip was heaven and everyone that knows me knows I love a good cup of coffee. All in all a delicious meal and my only bad thing and not a bad thing at all is that they are too far from where I live. But I know now if I’m ever in that area, well yes that will be a definite visit.
