Disappointed, ordered delivery and my food was on the bland side. Menu stated spicy but it was bland.

Our first and second experience was great and now every single time we order from here it is terrible or the order is completely wrong. Not sure what happened, if they are under new management or have a new chef, whatever it is I wish they would fix it!

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. It’s so bad you will need to pay me to ever go their again. Their dishes do not consist of what it should. They need to get it right. The general tso not sure how to spell it does not have what it should. I was like Kung pao chicken. The place smells bad.

I don’t know if they screwed up my order or what, but that wasn’t general tsos chicken. Not sure what it was.

The food ranges from terrible to mediocre. The General Tso’s chicken is not General Tso’s chicken. It’s not even fried! The fried rice is completely tasteless, even the veggies and pork. The lemon chicken has no hint of lemon. Only thing to recommend it is that the people who work there are very sweet. We do appreciate that, but not at the expense of taste!

Horrible Service. Ordered online. Said it would be 30 – 35 minutes. Called after an hour. They said it would be another 45 minutes. These fools didn’t even have the courtesy to call and let me know so I can order elsewhere. DON’T ORDERFROMHERE!

This place never disappoints me. The food is always fresh and the customer service is consistent. I’ve been a regular customer for the past two years and wouldn’t go anywhere is, unless I’m in Chinatown… lol. Today I had the Kung pao chicken and combo chow mein. It’s the bomb! I would recommend these dishes along with so much more. They have a large selection of choices, so you can’t go wrong. If you’re in the VALLEY, check them out.

I have ordered from here for years– always getting delivery. They are usually on time and the food is fresh. We loved the hot & sour soup and the Black Pepper Chicken. When I called recently & said my usual«no MSG, please,» I was told that this was no longer possible as many of the sauces are already made with MSG. Major disappointment for us as we no longer will be able to eat their order/eat their food but I really appreciated the people at the restaurant’s honestly in letting us know that they use MSG in most of their sauces & their food.

I agree with some of the other reviews. Solid food, but nothing to write home about. Fast delivery, but I do live literally around the street. On the whole, I would order from them again. I had the orange chicken, pan fried dumplings and egg rolls.

If I could give the a lower rating I would because I think they are starting to cheat their customers by giving them small containers when they order large. I have been going here for 15 years and they still do not know my name. In that 15 years, they have never once delivered small containers instead of large ones. In the last month they have done it twice, so I have to believe it is done on purpose. PLUS, they actually tried to tell me that the amount of food was the same, they just put it in a smaller container by mistake. Since I keep all my delivery containers, I believe that is fraud, correct?

Food was alright. Delivery was relatively quick. However, the delivery driver attempted to solicit me for a larger tip. I have no problem tipping drivers and often tip quite generously. Their location is half a mile away and he was claiming that his gas is not covered by his employer. This is NOT my problem. I am so close he could have rode a bike if it was such an issue. I normally would come to the door with cash for them but I rushed to the door. If he hadn’t been rude and demanding he might just have got that 20% tip. Oh well. Now they have also lost another potential customer, so do yourself a favor and find better drivers.

I ordered orange chicken and fried dumplings. The fried dumplings with the sauce are delicious, so fresh! However the orange chicken had way too much garlic. The house smelled as soon as I took the food inside. And the garlic was easily seen. They need to lower that measurement. Overall a 3 since they delivered the food fast.

Had a great experience! Me and my co-worker were on a 1 hour lunch break and called our order in, and got there 5 mins later. The owner walked over and introduced himself, and we dined in. we both had the lemon chicken lunch special and it came with salad soup and big portion. It was so yummy! Thank you! I do recommend!

You know, I hadn’t done take out from this place in a while. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the 88 Chinese joint on Sepuveda near Burbank. But you know what? I found the eggplant a little bland, the orange chicken not quite as I remembered it, and the beef with broccoli kind of pro forma. When 88 and this place are equidistant? Opt for 88.

Hey, do you like sesame chicken? Who doesn’t? ! These people. So much so that they give you mushy sweet and sour chicken with«sesame seeds» on top. Mm mm good. Unless it’s not. Hey, got an issue with your order… guess who’s wrong… you are. Why would a …“restaurant” take any blame? Not these heros. Eff the last guy to pass the savings on to you… except you’re the soon to be last guy. Spend an extra buck, drive a little farther, wait a little longer. .or do what we did. Get told we are the ones who are wrong. Have them make no effort at all. dump the food, make a sandwich. Drink some wine. Bamboo forest is as bland, unimaginative, inhuman and devoid of humanity as the name. What LA inbred zombie gave these con artists 5 stars? Did they rate nail salons and jiffy lubes too?

3.5 stars Came here tonight for dinner with my family. My grandma came here a year ago and remembered it being really good and we were hungry! We ordered: egg rolls, hot and sour soup, mixed vegetables, king pao shrimp, orange chicken, and szechuwan eggplant. Egg rolls were okay, nothing special, not a ton of flavor but not bad. Soup was standard, not very spicy, not amazing, but not bad. A little thicker than others I’ve had. Eggplant had good flavor, but it was not spicy at all. Also it was served on a bed of cabbage, which was odd in terms of flavor, look, and made it seem like we were being skimped on eggplant. Orange chicken was nice and crispy which I loved. Flavor was pretty good, but I’ve had better. Could have been more orange-y. Kung pao shrimp was alright. Sizes: They have most items in medium and large. The medium is small and the large is a bit smaller than most Chinese places. We had a little to take home(maybe enough for one small lunch tomorrow) after the 4 of us ate with egg rolls, soup, 3 large orders, and 1 medium order. Service was attentive and good. This was my first time here, so I don’t know what it was like before it changed owners, but it’s decent. I’ve had worse and I’ve had better. I’d come back if I was in the area and craving Chinese, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way to eat here.

Just like most of the recent reviews of this place states, New owners(Husband and Wife I assume) who couldn’t manage their way out of a high school introduction to business class. Someone please call Food Network and get Robert from«Restaurant Impossible» over here immediately before this place is gone for good and I can bet money on that. Since the previous owner, George moved to Sacramento I assume he sold the business to these new schmucks. Shame on you George for leaving us to deal with these morons. I have been to the restaurant twice since the new owners and have to say that each time I came was the same treatment from these buttheads. First off, I have always ordered the Lunch/Dinner special from this place and never had to repeatedly ask for anything that normally comes with the special, but with these new owners, not only do they skip out on bringing out everything but when they do bring you something, it comes in a much smaller portion then what you were accustomed to before. The last straw for me was that I asked the husband for a water, he nodded yes and immediately went to sit down at a table in the restaurant and ate a bowl of soup the whole entire time. I am not coming back until I see a new owner/manager post on Unilocal

Its ok, my first time eating here. Ordered for take out, chicken with veggies in garlic sauce lunch special. The prices are decent. The food is ok, nothing really to rave about. Im not really impressed, its about the equivalence of Panda Express.

WARNING: NEWOWNERS, PORTIONSARESMALLER, ANDWAYOVERPRICED!!! Now that I have your attention let me start by saying this is an updated review. My husband and I were regular customers of the FORMEROWNERS. We absolutely loved them and always felt welcomed when we entered Bamboo — that all changed tonight! Apparently, they sold Bamboo Forrest two months ago. When we walked in, the whole vibe of the place was weird. The people who were serving us didn’t even tell us they were the new owners. Let me start from the time we sat down… The menu was on the table for 2 minutes(I kid you not) while my husband and I were getting situated at our table. Before we even had a chance to open the menu and look at it, a woman(new owner’s wife presumably) quickly came to us and asked if we were ready to order — um… NOYOUDINGBAT, WEJUSTSATDOWN! She didn’t even ask us what we wanted to drink anything. All she said was, «is tea enough for you?» Um… Ok! So, another three minutes goes by and the owner(who stood there watching us as we looked at the menu) asked if we were ready. I suppose so since it seemed like they wanted to rush us. So we quickly ordered two spring rolls, a large broccoli chicken, and a large scallops with mixed veggies. HUGEMISTAKE! As soon as the spring rolls came… Something looked«off» about them. So hubby and I each took one, then took a bite and were completely overtaken by the strong taste of ginger — it was really quite overpowering. Eventually our meal came and it didn’t even look like a large. It looked like the small size the former owner used. When my husband mentioned the portion size was not a large, the owner LIED and insisted that it was a large. Sorry Bud, but that portion was big enough for a 5 year old! As I’m watching all this unfold, I take note that the owners wife is glaring daggers at us. Needless to say, my stomach started turning. We finished our meal in record time… I was amazed. As soon as our plates were emptied a young bus boy comes and collects our plates… All the while glaring at us! My husband and I struck up a conversation with another customer who was ALSO a regular of the former owners, and she was more than disappointed that the new owners were deceiving the customers. She was telling the new owners that the food and the portions were different than the previous owner’s and the new owner kept interrupting her and wouldn’t let her get a word in edge wise. Anyway, back to us… As we are having this conversation with this lady… The owner comes over and shoved the bill in my face abruptly and said, «here you go!» Basically telling us to F**k off with that action. So for what little we ordered we got ripped off because our bill was $ 30!!! WAY Too much for the crap service and the horrible food! As we were paying(with NO tip) the bus boy burps!!! Like… Super LOUD! The lady who we were talking to was so disgusted she asked for the bill! As hubby and I stood up to leave, the new owner flashed a dirty look at us and waved us out! Needless to say… We are NEVER setting foot in that hole-in-the-wall again!!! Only reason I gave it 1 star was because of the awesome lady we struck up a conversation with… Other than that… This place deserves a big fat ZERO!!!

Great lunch specials. I have come here a number of times for lunch. Service is fast and the food is pretty good. For under $ 10 you get soup, salad, entrée, rice and an egg roll. The chow mein is pretty good. The sweet and sour pork is a bit greasy and gets a odd film as it cools. The shrimp with lobster sauce is my regular dish. Its a little watery but still good. The staff is nice and fast. Good lunch spot. There is parking in the rear if the street is full.
