The bamboo shrimp and beef soft noodle are amazing!

First time eat here, awful experience. I placed a to go order for Hunan Lamb, bamboo shoots with mushroom and a tofu assorted seafood soup. The bamboo shoots with mushroom didn’t taste fresh. As a chinese I don’t know how they can cook this easy fry vegetable into an awful taste. The mushroom is pretty smelly! Hunan lamb is even worse, the first thing I smelled is an awful smelly like unwashed socks when I opened the box. The meat tasted not like lamb, nor fresh. We have to throw these two food away because we just can’t finish them and made me want to throw up now. The only thing ok is the soup. I went there because its 4 star reviews, but the food I received is definitely lower than a 1 star restaurant! Is it because it was a to go order? I don’t know. But tonight was the worst experience for recent years. I went back for the reviews and found someone actually had FOODPOISONING experience here, and I throw up after about an hour, so please be aware! Ps, after about two hours both me and my gf got an upset stomach and I throw up twice. So definitely be aware.

Seems there dishes don’t come with vegetables?! When I ordered the garlic white fish, I had to add carrots, zucchini and water chestnuts. And when I did add those in as I like veggies in my honest food, the waitress made this annoyed face and attitude with me the entire time. Weird!

:(Where do I begin? We eat here ALL the time. We ordered take out. And it is expensive. Their food has been awful the last year or so? We gave it multiple chances, but alas yesterday was the last of it. The chicken we got was spoiled. The other chicken dish was overcooked and tough. The mushu was burnt. $ 60 worth of food and we had to throw half of it away. No more Bamboo for us. 10 years of service gone.

Walked in for some Chinese food with my son and my mom… the service was horrible we had to walk around ourselves to find table, until some one told us to seat where ever we wanted. We waited for a waiter for 15 – 20 minutes and not until I got up and called someone. We ordered wonton soup, shumai dumplings and picked cabbage salad. When the soup was bright to us, it was cold and tasted horrible. We asked the waitress for a spicy sauce/soy it took her 10 minutes to bring it. We walked out because it was unbearable to eat. Never will come there again nor would I recommend it to anyone. Stay away! Horrible service/disgusting food

I really wanted to like this place after reading the reviews but all the cons prove to be true :/ I ordered through DoorDash and the food was here on time(if not earlier) and packaged conveniently/cleanly. I ordered: Konpao Chicken Lettuce Cups White Rice Total of ~$ 42 :X The food was terribly bland. Even after adding some sauce to it, I couldn’t mask the flavor of nothing. This was extremely disappointing considering how expensive the food is.

**********FOODPOISONINGALERT********** I was hoping the first time was an off chance because the food here used to really good but I have just reported to the Manager tonight another food poisoning incident. He claimed that since no other people had reported any issues that there is not a problem. Told him there indeed was otherwise I wouldn’t be calling. One of the following foods made me sick: shui mai shrimp toast chicken noodle soup with hofun noodles I ordered other things from them as it was a delivery order but will return them to the restaurant tomorrow as the manager requested for hopefully a refund. They will remain untouched as if one of their foods is tainted then some others must be too. I have given them two chances and both times I have fallen ill. I will jot be eating here ever again. Go to Green Apple Bistro instead. I have never gotten ill there.

Excellent. I really don’t want to provide a backstory but it seems like I have to write something in order to get Unilocal to post my review. I ate it with family on a Sunday night. Delicious. Best in Sherman Oaks.

My husband and I ordered delivery from Bamboo because it had the best reviews in our area. The hot and sour soup was great, the mushrooms in oyster sauce were AMAZING, the sweet and sour pork was ok and the Buddha’s delight was fine. The weirdest thing though is that we both woke up this morning and noticed that our pee smells like Chinese food. What kind of black magic is this?! This has never happened before and we have no idea why. So, pretty average food that is – sticking with us? Oy. I don’t think we will order from here again because of the high prices(and the souvenir) but if you eat here, get the mushrooms!

Warning! This is a high end Chinese restaurant ! Thus you won’t eat here for $ 6.95. We came here today… nothing to do for Jew’s on Christmas Day around 12:30. Excellent time as twenty minutes after and it was full. The Winton soup was kind of crappy and tasted fake, not sure how to describe it any other way. We ordered lo mein combo which was really good. The bamboo beef is also a signature dish of there’s. Two other entrees and an $ 89 tip plus tip of course. These tips will stop soon as Obama and his $ 15 an hour thing in L.A. county will drive up prices on everything. They have valet in the back, but you can find street parking south of the block or metered parking on Ventura. All in all this is a high end restaurant which has signature items the other smaller, cheaper joints won’t carry.

Wow… this was the most watered down, whitey-ville Chinese joint I’ve ever been to… everything tasted the same… EVERYTHING…Kung Pao = Low Mein = Fried Rice = green tea. Bland food, not such great service, and not such cheap prices for what you get.

After ordering take out from a very fancy and expensive Japanese restaurant in Santa Monica and arriving at the house with some sample sized fluff… Bear called Bamboo Cuisine and ordered us a proper dinner and it was absolutely heroically delicious! The fried duck, Yum! Beyond Yum! I only got to see the interior for a second when I ran in with my pj’s to pick the food and it looks really nice. Warm and cozy and romantically dimmed. Next time we’ll probably dine in the restaurant. Yes, we will be back!

My brother-in-law lives in this neighborhood and took us to lunch here. It rocked. Cheap, high-quality, and delicious. Great Chinese food, some of which was on the healthier side. Brown rice as an option, fresh, crisp veggies, perfect level of sauce.

You know, I’m surprised? I never ate here much over the years because I always assumed only geriatrics who don’t know what Unilocal is(and certainly don’t know what decent Chinese food is) come here. Also, for Sichuan, it’s certainly more expensive than most places in the area BUT(and it’s a big«but») … It was late and most places were closed. We got take out at 1020PM for two people. We ordered Hot and Spicy Eggplant(and added fried tofu), fish and black bean, rice(because it’s not included) and the BBQ pork appetizer(which is a dollar more expensive than the Unilocal menu currently lists it for) for a total of 39 dollars. When I order at Mandarin Best I tend to spend about 13 $ less. However, it’s good. Very good. in fact. The«Hot and Spicy Eggplant» wasn’t particularly«hot» and not at all«spicy» but the vegetables were very fresh. And the chunky tofu was both airy and very fluffy. The eggplant itself was both gooey and satisfying. The fish and black bean was even better. The lightly fried whitefish was just so slightly crunchy on the outside and silky smooth on the inside. It came with an assortment of vegetables which were very fresh. The crunchy mushrooms, especially, made the dish really sing. The BBQ pork appetizer wasn’t fatty at all but unfortunately it was dried out and I think could have been seasoned a lot more. However, I am planning on using the meat in a homemade bahn mi which I can already tell will be amazing. On top of it all, each to go box was packed so tightly, they could hardly stay closed. We had two full diners, a huge lunch together, the BBQ pork bahn mi sandwiches looming in my mind and still have more of the other stuff for leftovers. So it may be pricey but you get a LOT of food for your money! I have definitely made a 180 with how I look at the bamboo and will no longer look down my nose at their customers driving by.

Good Chinese. Crispy duck was crispy and the hoisin sauce was a good compliment. The shrimp fried rice had lots of shrimp and delicately flavored. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and not too many peas and carrots. The Snowpea chicken was mediocre. The snow peas were overlooked and soft. All in all a good experience.

We shared rice, pork, shrimp, and green bean dishes here for dinner. Service was pretty attentive and the food was good. In my opinion, not being from the area — so I have no local reference of competition, the food was pretty average. Certainly satisfying but nothing I had was so amazing that I could single out the experience into a longing to return for a particular item.

By far the best Chinese food in the area. Chicken fly head and Singapore noodles are my 2 favs. For the negative review based on having eat 24 deliver your food… mmmmm never had an issue with Bamboo delivery. Maybe you should complain about eat 24. But you don’t seem very smart so we can all let that review slide.

YUMMM! Not a fan of chinese food but I do have to say that this place is the best one yet. My favorite is the aloha shrimp, cream cheese wontons, mongolian beef, bamboo beef in pepper sauce and the lo mein noodles. They also deliver and are super quick. Only downfall is the wait is super long if you come on the weekends and want to eat there. Otherwise it is amazing!

I placed my order for delivery through Eat24 and received my confirmation email at 1:27pm and was quoted a 40−50min delivery time. My order: Orange Chicken(very spicy) Pork Fired Rice(no onions) I didn’t receive my order until 2:53,way past the estimated wait time. for $ 27.14 this is ridiculous On top of that the food was only mediocre. The orange chicken has hardly any citrus essence to it and it has barely any spice. The pork friend rice is bland and the pieces of pork have hardly any flavor I wanted to like this place but this now I just want my money back

Pretty Americanized Chinese food. A little too greasy for my tastes, but I really enjoyed the lemon scallops and the lychee(Bamboo?) mojito!
