Clean clean clean! Very nice restaurant. Prompt and courteous service. Excellent salad bar. Good food overall. Fast service. Burger was hot and fresh. Had the big boy sandwich as it says on menu nothing added or left off. Delicious. Tasted like 1950. Awesome

When I was a boy my parents used to take me to a Big Boy in Chicago and it was very nostalgic to get to go back to one. I’m not sure if these are the same, but it was close what I remember. As a dinner it’s better then most and the staff are very nice. They even offered my 3 year old a cute ring. The food was pretty good and I liked the Buffalo tenders and shake.

Always wanted to try a Big Boy — Got my picture taken with the statue… Other than that, it stunk… here’s the details: Interior — New, light and bright… but dirty… floors filled with paper straw scraps… I get that it was @11AM, but somebody needs to run a silent vacuum Food — If you’ve eaten frozen stuff from Sam’s, you’ve had the same stuff… Signature Big Boy burger was a blaher version of the Big Mac… buffalo chicken strips, Onion Rings, Fries were all prepackaged frozen and blah. So, if you haven’t been — go, say you’ve been to a Big Boy, get your picture with the statue… then go to IHOP or Denny’s better versions of similar stuff

Yumm yumm yumm. I wish there was one near me. I only have the chance to eat at Frisch’s when I travel in the area which is not that often. The big Boy and fries is cheaper than MacDonalds Big Mac meal and it is way tastier. I cant wait to go back through Louisville to eat here again!

Being surrounded by the usual spate of fast food places, the Big Boy stuck out to me with the Iconic statue, and the red colors. I didn’t go in, but instead hit the drive-through. Going in might have been a better option, since the drive menu board was falling apart. But they were patient as I asked questions and decided on my order. I finally decided on just a Big Boy, which resembles a Big Mac(the McDonald’s menu leader was inspired by the Big Boy sandwich), holding the pickles and tartar sauce. And it was pretty good. The beef was tasty. The bun had some structure to it, and the cheese was better than a Golden Arches had to offer. Not the best burger in the world, but not the worst, either. I’d get it again, and maybe try the fries.

I normally don’t review chains, but I’ve never been to a Frisch’s Big Boy, so I thought I’d give it a try. Had the Big Boy, which has like a tartar sauce on it. Didn’t come with fries or the drink so the price for all three came to almost $ 8. I would rather eat at Red Robin. Or 5 Guys. Or even Carl’s Jr./Hardees. It’s not that the food was bad, it’s just that the price for value wasn’t there.

We were on a road trip back home from Chicago when we stopped at this exit and noticed Frisch’s. I’ve seen this restaurant mascot on several other California Unilocalers pics and immediately recognized it. I assumed it must be a fabulous place since so many revere it enough to have«selfie» pics with Mr. Big Boy. This would be my last chance to gorge on White Castles(right next door), so my food attention was diverted there. However, I couldn’t resist giving Frisch’s a quick gluttonous visit. I asked the extremely friendly manager on duty what is the most popular item sold. Dude was right out of a 1950’s diner. I thought for sure he was going to tell me to have a «super duper day.» After his recommendation, we ordered the Hot Fudge Cake dessert and it was heavenly. The vanilla shake is also worthy of trying. Unfortunately we were too full from our White Castles to order anything else or fully enjoy the items we did sample. Father forgive me, for I have Unilocaled waaaaaaay too much this trip! INTERESTINGMENU I kinda wish we had not already filled our bellies because the menu here was very interesting(for a fast food joint). Some items of interest were: * Pork Tenderloin sandwich * Philly Chicken sandwich * Tuna Melt sandwich * Country Fried Steak dinner * Chicken Italian dinner * Chilli Spaghetti dinner * Breakfast Bar Buffet * Pina Colada Fruit Smoothie * Turtle Cheesecake dessert * Open faced Turkey or Roast Beef sandwich w/mashed potatoes Menu —
NOTE — The interior poster of Big Boy kinda looks Chucky-ish… Just sayin’!!! I’d be scared to death that he might materialize and just be standing next to my seat like on this USPS commercial —
THEVERDICT Too early to call, but I would say they’ve earned a second visit the next time we run across one of their locations. I’m very curious about their Big Boy Burger that includes TARTERSAUCE as a standard condiment. O_o
