The Quality Inn is near downtown Shepardstown. The room was less expensive than other nearby hotels. Staff was friendly. The room was clean. They have a complementary breakfast that was served from 7AM — 11AM.

My family was in town visiting so I booked a room for them at the Comfort Inn. Strangely, in the morning around 8:30AM the water was turned off. My family was not able to shower in the morning or use the toilets. Weirdest thing for a hotel to do. This was not a city-wide water outage, just the Comfort Inn. There was no notice or warning given at the time of booking or when checking into the room. The person at the front desk indicated it is a regular occurrence and weren’t very apologetic, instead suggesting that we should have known because there was a sign posted at one of the elevators. Very strange. Despite my complaints, there was nothing the staff was willing to do to compensate. I won’t recommend or book again.

Clean, great complimentary breakfast, close to attractions, quiet, and way more affordable than a bed & breakfast!

Pet friendly. People friendly. Though this is a part of the Comfort Inn chain, it’s the kind of place where the desk clerk will let you leave your dog with her while you walk to the drug store. We’ve stayed here twice over Thanksgiving holidays, so it’s not been crowded, but the price is good and the rooms are clean. They also have a deal with the nearby Clarion conference center and hotel to use their fitness facilities and pool for a small daily fee.

Pros: –close to historic downtown Shepherdstown –comfy bed –not too expensive –sink/vanity is in the room, not the bathroom(I like this) –quiet –free wireless Cons: –weird lack of outlets around the desk(had to run an extension cord for the laptop) –tiny breakfast area I would stay here again.
