This place is far above average BUT, it is VERY expensive. To eat by myself with a Coke cost well over $ 50 not including gratuity. The meat is flavorful and prime. There salad bar has almost everything you could ever imagine and a whole more you’d never think of. The damn thing is long and has four sides to it!!! I went right as they opened and other being the only customer there, you would have never known it as everything was ready and quickly served. Highly recommended as a «splurge,» or special occasion destination.

Good food, customer service was pleasant, and the price were a bit costly but worth it if your looking for an ambience.

The best part about this place is the service. Oh and the pineapple thing they give you after you’ve eaten too much. We had the most adorable and helpful waitress, Olena. Wonderful first experience here. We will definitely be back!

Where do I start? Run Away and Don’t Waste your Time nor Money… We should’ve listened to our instincts but didn’t. 1) this is NOT your typical Brazilian Restaurant 2) Something to be said about seeing an empty parking lot on just about every night of the week 3) How bad can a $ 25 per person salad bar be. pretty bad. store bought croutons, dressings out of a bottle, wilted salad, limited offerings, Costo prepared items and soggy side dishes. Huge disappointment from inexperienced staff, presentation, quality, and overall experience. What fools we were…

Went here for a team event. Not too impressed. They were slow with service. There were just 2 full tables so we expected a lot faster response.

I agree with the rest of the reviews. The waiter was semi friendly. The meat cutters were nice but dropped many Meats on the ground while serving. We barely got served. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Haven’t eaten there in three years. Had a terrible experience with a manager who is no longer there. The new management is great and the staff was awesome. Now that the old manager is gone, I will not only go again but will be telling my friends!

Great meat selection, friendly staff salad bar clean now they have added soup of the day it was a beautiful and different experience there is not a lot of restaurants like this in the woodlands/spring area. I recommend this place 100%. Thank you Guri for making this first time trying once in a lifetime. I will be coming back!

Dinner for two. Cost $ 100 Drinks: water — no desert Pros Clean, food was good, salad bar was clean and well kept up, décor was nice, and the staff was very friendly. Cons Service, although the staff was very pleasant the service seemed very disorganized. There were items that we never got the opportunity to try, at other times they would come out and go to one or two tables without looking around and then going back in.(We were seated in the center of the room). Would have really liked to have sampled the pineapple. Just a lack of direction and organization from service staff. Called manager once home. He said he would send a voucher for two so as to try his restaurant again.

The food here is ok. Not great. We had a large group go in and they were either not able to accommodate a group that size(30) or they were really trying to maximize profitability. After salads, we waited a solid 20 minutes before they started bringing meat out and then we only got 5 kinds of meat and they disappeared. The waiters came by a couple times to ask if we were done and we repeatedly told them no and that we were waiting for more meat– and it NEVER came. We ultimately gave up. Also, they never refreshed sides or bread. The quality of the food was good but the service was not. I would not recommend it.

GRRRR! Way to ruin my Sunday! Attended a private party for a friend. Most awkward and uncomfortable experience. Everything bad: –No small plates brought out for bread; we asked for one and they still did not get a clue! They only brought out one and everyone else was left holding their bread in their hands. –Toilet would not flush and sink faucet handle broken completely off. –Salad bar had so many gnats(or fruit flies)!!! It was disgusting!!! –They did not refill salad bar while we were there– they ran out of several items. -«Chicken dish» had no chicken just bell peppers and onions. –The plantains and mash potatoes were lukewarm when brought out. –The meat– what a joke! They brought it out and presented it to a few people then would quickly leave. My hubs and I kept trying to grab some but just kept getting ignored. I asked a waitress to please get the guy for me and she said«We will go around twice.» Ugh, no you didn’t. –My hubs FINALLY was offered the meat he wanted and it was cut paper thin. Did I mention it was cut paper thin??! Hubs asked for a second piece and the guy said«No, I have to offer it to everyone else first and if there is any left over I can come back.» WTF!!! It was paper thin!!! It could have gone around 5 times the table and still have half left over! We were shocked! [At Chama Gaucha they practically beg you to take more & they come around every 30 seconds.] –Hubs & I ordered bottle of wine for ourselves. The waitress brought us our two glasses. Halfway thru our bottle she brings out two more wine glasses to a couple sitting next to us. She then proceeds to grab OUR bottle and I said«Excuse me?!». She looks at me and says the couple wants some of our wine. I gave her a look of disbelief and she said«They think it is for everyone.». WHY?!! Why would you put me in that position??? Why wouldn’t you tell them it was a private purchase? Why would you think it was ok to grab my bottle and try to serve others? We immediately asked for our bill and left the celebration early. My husband and I dine out several times a week, we have been to some pretty swanky places all the way from NYC to Aspen to Napa. We have also eaten at low cost places like taco trucks & street corners and this has got to be the worst experience ever. Like ever.

Lots and lots and lots of meat, to the point it makes you sick after a while. Also, don’t eat them all in the first round because after the first round they bring around the same meat but cooked differently.

Guri Do Sul has been and still is one of my favorite locations to frequent. The atmosphere during the week is great for a sentimental dinner. If you are looking for something a little more upbeat the weekends consist of live entertainment and usually require reservations. The staff is always very friendly and takes great care of me. As for the food I generally stick to the salad bar(for personal health reasons) which has a generous but not excessive amount of options, and follow it with a great Bloody Mary. As for the meats they are delectable! To sum my review up my only suggestions are bring a date, friends, and most importantly your wallet and an appetite.

I am a bonafide meat eater! I like meat in large quantities! I also like Fogo de Cao. I’ve been to this restaurant(Guri) a number of times to celebrate birthdays and special occasions. It is NoT cheap! It also is not Fogo. You might consider it a smaller, family-styled version. Some days it is very sparse in customers. Other days it is fairly busy. Keep in mind to make reservations, just in case. For the most part, I’ve never had trouble getting my party of four seated. The side dishes of plantains and mash potatos are nice. I love the starter bar of mixed salads, cheeses, and salmon/prosciutto, but if you play it smart, you don’t want to stuff yourself silly before the different cuts of meat are served! They have the special filet, Parmesan pork, bacon-wrapped filet and bacon-wrapped chicken, venison sausage, boneless prime rib, center-cut sirloin, and occasionally bone-in rib(rarely). It’s worth a try.

This was my second time at this restaurant. The first time is pretty good. This time the services was terrible, and the food was not tasty at all. We even had to ask them to bring some of the meats because they would not show up. We also had to wait for the side dishes and were only at our table because we requested them. Having dined at Fogo de Chao(absolutely awesome) and Nelore @ Montrose. I would have to say they do not merit a visit. Do yourself a favor and drive a little from The Woodlands and if you can afford it go to Fogo and if you are on a budget go to Nelore. My brother in law and his wife were visiting and we wanted to treat them well. $ 200.00 later we were all dissapointed.

Ugh. Where do I begin? Groupon. We went in a Groupon and were denied the side dishes and dessert that are supposed to go with the meal. Really, that is not even the point. The salad bar was nightmarish. Flies. Sweating Parmesan. Crusted hummus. Assorted sweaty deli meats. Just gross. A cesspool of food born pathogens waiting to wreak havoc on your guts. The meats were tough, bland, and lukewarm. Service was fleeting, but friendly. I hope they find jobs elsewhere, because this place won’t be open much longer, surely? I. Will. Never. Return.

This restaurant has no business being in business. In a recent visit to the Woodlands, we decided to give this place a try out of good faith. Unfortunately, after waiting about 30 minutes for the grilled meats to be served it was apparent we made the wrong choice. We only had a few bites, but that was enough to know this place was not for us. The portions being served were tiny. Even worse, it was apparent that the meat was improperly stored and/or cooked. It was gray and reeked of freezer burn. The $ 60 spent was a complete waste. When we brought the issue to the server, his simple rely was that he had a poor sense of smell. In other words, he didn’t care and he wasn’t going to inform management. Stay away from this place.

I’m kitchen-impaired, so although not an accomplished cook, I’m basically a carnivore and loved Guri do Sul! A great salad bar with items not typically found like cold-boiled crab claws(when in season) and smoked salmon. Went to this place with some friends chasing our primal diets. Ambience was good, didn’t have to valet park b/c plenty of add’l parking right in front, but this place is rough otherwise. Meats were fatty and the guachos had a slim selection of meats to choose from. The service was like a hot sority chick Nice on the outside but lacked substance. We asked them to bring meats outside of bacon wrapped chicken and beef but the others never showed up. They ran of Shrimp at 7pm, makes sense though since we live on the Gulf Coast and supply is obviously limited. Further, should you order coffee, know that their coffee gets cold very quick once it hits the table. I know this b/c our waiter assured us the coffee was steaming when it hit the table but somehow cold within 30 seconds at first sip… Like a few others have stated, for the money you are going to spend here, you’d be better suitded to go to Fogo or even Nelore in Montrose. Step it up Guri.
