If you are on your way to the Olympic national park or near Olympia, I highly recommend coming here for a pit stop. Try to call them ahead of time to arrange a tour at their facility. They sometimes show customers around the farm and processing plant. The shop on itself was amazing. They sell a variety of shellfish. We got the smoked oysters and four different kinds of fresh oyster. I don’t normally eat raw oysters but they were pretty darn good. They offer you a towel, bucket and shucking knife. We also got the clam chowder and the oyster stew. We were feeling adventurous and got the oyster stew but regretted it because it tasted really seafoody. It had some grit but there were big chunks of oyster meat. We had geoduck chowder, that was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend getting this. They had picnic benches so you can eat it right there. Loved stopping by here.

Best $ 30 i’ve ever spent. Huge pacific oysters, and lots of the more famous breeds available. Amazing stew. I sat and ate a few dozen oysters, had a beer, chowder, enjoyed the sunshine. I was traveling alone and the friendly woman working the desk came out and sat with me at the picnic table, chatted for 20 minutes and showed me the expert shucking technique. I’ll be back

I love Taylor shellfish in Cap Hill so when this market was on the way between Seattle and Portland we had to stop by. It is about 15 mins freeway west from Olympia. Would not come just for this, but if it’s only a quick detour then yes! The shop is pretty tiny and was pretty quiet around late afternoon on a Monday. We picked up a couple jars of shucked oysters. $ 9 a jar for any size. $ 21 for same size but Kumamoto oysters. The lady wrapped it up in a bag with ice too so that was nice for the commute in the summer! We also had some on site. There are a couple picnic tables outside where you can have them. Each oyster was only around $ 1.30 which it’s about $ 1 more each at their retail shops in Seattle. Great deals. Though I do think they take more care in shucking them at the shops. The ones we had more bits of stuff in it(rocks?). For the price and quality of oysters though, totally worth it. We had Shigoku and Virginica that day. They also serve a geoduck or oyster stew. Doesn’t seem that fresh or is sitting all day though. However my boyfriend really enjoyed the oyster stew. It’s almost just all oyster in a very buttery sauce.

I absolutely loved the experience! When we got there, it was drizzly but the wonderful lady made sure to accommodate us as we were anticipating eating there. She set up a whole platter for us, and was wonderful. There is no covered seating area but we just stood under the awning and shucked and ate right there. It was magnificent! The geoduck chowder was good but the oyster chowder was amazing. There is no way you should miss this spot. Do pick up a can of their smoked oysters too!

All too often places that sell raw seafood have an «air» about them, if you know what I mean. Not the retail store at Taylor Shellfish Farms, no odor at all. It is a real testament to the attention to cleanliness that you want in a place that sells seafood. At just over $ 6/pound for fresh clams the prices are pretty decent too. There are tables and a grill in case you decide to consume your purchase almost immediately. Note that at the time you can not consume alcohol on premise but they have applied for a permit to allow consumption, so that may be an option in the future. Do not forget to grab a cup, bowl or quart of chowder as it is quite good. The options available this weekend were geoduck or oyster chowders. It is a well made chowder with an ample amount of fresh herbs that make it nice and flavorful. I’m guessing that it is made with whole milk and not half and half, so it is not as rich as some New England chowders I have had. For my tastes it was just about perfect with a nice amount of geoduck, potatoes and onion with that freshness that good herbs add. Along the wall there are freezer units filled with even more options. If you want to purchase anything and there is no one to help you there is a REDBUTTON on the wall near the factory entrance that you can push to request assistance. This location is just off 101 at the exit just north of the Little Creek Casino. Staff are knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful.

Amazing prices for everything they have to offer. We tried the restaurant before we knew there was a factory. My parents were super stoked to bring us here, and so were we. The small oysters are the perfect size! The medium oysters were the size of my hand! I also bought the oyster stew that we raved about in the restaurant, as well as trying the Manila clams and mussels. My family had a feast of shellfish and we absolutely loved it. My partner and I actually came back twice during our visit to Olympia. This place makes me excited about the possibility of moving to Olympia. It’s located in Shelton, but it’s only less than twenty minutes away.

It can’t get any fresher than this! You can see the product coming from the beach on trucks, so you know what you are buying is as fresh and delicious as it gets. And now you can buy the oysters, have them shuck them and enjoy them right there on site! Love it.

Huge fan! Taylor’s has every type of shellfish you could want; some prepared and some raw. We purchased steamers, oysters, and crabcakes. They even have a grill and fire outside so you can cook your food right there! The best part of Taylor’s Shellfish.. . is my wife doesn’t like shellfish! More for me!

Bought fresh clams, mussels, Indian smoked aka candied salmon, and some of those fantastic smoked oysters. Can’t say enough. They even pack your stuff in ice. Cooked the shellfish in some white wine and garlic. Wicked. So fresh. Plump mussels and clams. Def worth checking out.
