Great margarita, awesome happy hour. Home made pork grinds OUTSTANDING… They were hot and still cracking in the bag. Trying them out for ribs, very tender. Upstairs bar had a great view of steam engine and street.

This restaurant was in the middle of a logging city. Lots of warehouses and nearby railroad tracks. Not very touristy area to look at, but my God! you have to come here for the food if nothing else. Their BBQANYTHING is AMAZING!!! Holy smokes, if only I could box it up and send you that kind of rich flavor with soft tender meat smell. It’s knock your socks off good. The restaurant is beautifully located in an old bank. The setting allows for high ceilings that are joyfully painted sky blue. I love, love, love the big tall windows allowing for naturally light to pour in. I didn’t have time to explore much else around, but it looks like there’s some fun shops to look at if you have the time. We mainly were just passing through. And didn’t want to do the fast food joints. This gem of a place is worth the trip if you are need of a pit stop or are a local. And you must try the ice cream! It is to die for!!! Hmmmm!!! I so would love another scoop right now!!!

I was leaning towards 3 stars, but then started breaking down the whole experience and yes,“I’ve experienced better.” much better — thus the 2 stars. Visiting family and the son found this place to try, via Unilocal,as it had the high overall rating. Maybe for this town it is a near 5 star establishment, and that’s not a put down to the town as we genuinely like the town /county and enjoy our visits here. So, don’t get butt hurt Sheltonians! I ordered the two item platter, baby back pork ribs and beef brisket. My sides included coleslaw and mac & cheese. There were four of us and the orders did not come out all at once and the waitress mixed them up. As for my food — I thoroughly enjoyed my half rack of pork ribs. They were tender and fell off the bone! As for the beef brisket, it was very dry. I could not squeeze enough sauce on it to make it more tender. But, then again, I wanted to taste the meat more than the sauce(s)! Not much flavor on the dry meat. The coleslaw was nothing special and I actually prefer the coleslaw at KFC(but taste on this item is subjective, due to so many potential variations). The mac & cheese was enjoyable, however. Nothing spectacular, but tasty. The cornbread piece that came with the meal also okay, but a tad drier than it should have been. A side order of ‘homemade’ pork rinds were warm and fairly tasty, but the price was a little on the obnoxious side for the amount provided. I like the idea of munching peanuts at your table, but only one pail was provided and people who cracked open the peanuts put the shells right back into the same pail after removing the nut. That’s bad enough, but what if someone is a peanut shell sucker? I wouldn’t eat from the same pail either way, but if I saw or grabbed a ‘wet one’ I would have lost my mind(and appetite)! LMAO. They may want to come up with a different method for this activity; just a suggestion. We had to hunt down the waitress to pay our bill and get out of Dodge; and she disappeared for quite some time before returning. I discussed this with my brother, who resides in this town, and he concurred that he would not choose to eat here again. BUT, if we were meeting someone here, as their choice, we would give it another shot. Maybe it was an «off» evening.

A quaint little«southern» feel to this place. Loved the atmosphere and the help was friendly and attentive. For starters we had the half order of nachos, thank goodness it wasn’t a full order. They were tasty. Would definitely order again but wished the meat was warmer than room temperature. I ordered the catfish with Mac and cheese, which featured their version of hush puppies. Catfish was decent for the local area but too thick which led to the middle being too much fish for one bite but the sides were yummy. With this place saying they make their food from«scratch and homemade» I wish they tasted the tarter sauce prior to serving because it was purely over done with pickle juice. My husband had the Mac and cheese with three toppings: BBQ chicken, brisket chili and jalapeños. His comments to me were it was okay the jalapeños clearly came from the can. My opinion was the chicken was great but the brisket chili threw the whole thing off. Overall, I would go back but try something else like ribs or the brisket. Price wise, I do think it is a bit spendy, basing this on the pricing of different items and combos they offered.

Food was good but took about an hour to receive our order. Place was busy but still should not take that long. There was a couple that had placed an order to go and waited at least 45 minutes. Do yourself a favor and call in order to be picked up so you are not waiting that long.

This place was delicious! I ordered fried catfish that came with hush puppies and I got fried okra on the side. The fish was flaky and perfect and the sides were great as well. I was with a group of co workers and all the food they got looked great too. Someone let me try fried pickles as well which were excellent. Good service and nice atmosphere(weekday lunch and not crowded, not sure what night is like).

After only having a sampling of their food at last years Oyster Rama I had been anticipating visiting the actual restaurant. I must say, we walked up and down Railroad street with our GPS saying it was right where we were standing yet we still couldnt find it! Finally my daughter points up high to a building across from us and says she can barely see the name so thankfully we found it before giving up, horrible signage. We walked in to a small but tall dining area. Very casual feel with some long bench tables and a handful of small tables. The upper level doesnt open till later. We noticed a couple sitting in back off to one side of the restaurant wondering what was back there but didn’t realize until later a sign pointing to BAR in back, again not good signs. The atmosphere/décor has some nice touches keeping in sync with the old bank that was previously there many decades ago. The menu has plenty of options, lots of southern fav’s such as fried okra, hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, fried pickles and of course all the BBQ favorites… except fried chicken(only strips). We both decided to get a BBQ combo(for our lunch) which was one meat entrée with 2 sides and cornbread for 12 – 15 bucks. I must say all the starter(appetizer) options are pretty pricey when you think about it being pickles, okra, tomatoes simply being battered and fried yet range in price starting at 9 bucks! I asked the waitress if I could sub hush puppies as one of my sides and pay a slight added charge, she checked in back and then said I could. I was in the mood for trying smoked sausage but couldnt decided between reg. or hot links so I asked if I could split the order having both. Once again she had to go ask but came back saying they really frowned about it so I asked if the hot links were like fire or just a nice spice kick and she said not overly spicy so since I like hot sauce on many of my foods I went for it and order it all hot link. As my sides I did the hush puppies and coleslaw and then it came with the corn muffin. My daughter ordered pulled pork, with tater tots and potato salad. We each ordered one cocktail, hers one of their specialty drinks called some kind of cough syrup? which was tea, moonshine, lemon and honey. It tasted like lemon tea, neither of us tasted any booze… very odd. I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea, it was good… not strong but OK. Before our meals arrive the waitress was nice in bringing all their BBQ sauces to sample. She loved her meal, moist nice helping of pulled pork, ample heap of crispy tater tots and decent potato salad although made with sweet relish instead of dill but we must expect that as the southern tradition. The corn muffins were pitiful(dry, blah)…just saying they need a new killer recipe for muffins when my making Jiffy brand out of the box tastes better than theirs. Texas toast was just toast without anything on it at all, really? Two bad items although semi-minor. My entrée was half good, was just disappointed in my taking a risk and the hot links being just too spicy to enjoy. I could only take a bite ever so often to let my mouth settle down in between. I will say the hush puppies were my favorite item. Crispy on the outside and moist goodness of flavors inside, really good. The coleslaw as simple as it sounds can either be great or a complete flop… this was pretty darn good. I wouldnt hesitate to have a pulled pork sandwich with slaw on it topped with BBQ sauce. I would come back, but now after trying a few more things I know for sure which items I would get and have other items I still want to try. The happy hour looks like a great time to try the starters being about half off and well drinks under 4 bucks. I’d like to try their version of the Cuban pork sandwich next time. Hope these comments are helpful.

Jalapeño hush puppies… Yum! Cajun Shrimp… Yumm. Beef brisket sandwich, pulled pork, and breaded catfish… Yum, yum, yum!!! This joint has a fun atmosphere for bbq food. Southern style cajun dishes. Really try the catfish, you won’t be sorry. And they have peanuts for you to snack on at the tables and great ipa’s and other beers on tap and other beverages. They hosts some fun beer tasting dinners with games and prizes. Awesome! Sunday brunch menu is pretty fun and inventive(there own pairing of ie, biscuits and gravy, waffles, etc.) The owners are there working their tails off along with there employees. Great for family outing!

This place was amazing! It’s really hard to find good«legitimate» BBQ in Washington but this place has done it. I don’t have one complaint! The sweet potato tater tots are amazing! The sauces were all so great it was hard to pick just one. The portions are large!

BEST. FOOD. EVER. I’m sitting in a BBQ food coma right now. Catfish Tacos, Fried Okra, Cucumber Salad washed down with a Blackberry Moonshine Whiskey Sour. I can’t put into words how amazing this place is, it’s worth a half hour drive for some amazing BBQ food. The freshness, flavor, and quality of this food is hands down unbelievable. I love this place and everything is does.

Wow! Best restaurant I’ve tried so far in Shelton! Decided to stop by tonight after reading so many good reviews. Mo’s is a unique experience out here in Mason County. When you walk in you’re immediately greeted by incredible mouth watering aromas from their smoker and deeply rich Chicago blues. It seems as every detail here has been considered from the ambiance to the peanuts on the table. I had the special of a Prime Rib sandwich and their homemade fries. This place is extremely authentic BBQ from the smokey taste to the deeply flavorful meats they serve. Their fries are homemade from scratch and out of this world. My only regret is I wasn’t more hungry as literally everything on their menu looked delicious and unique for up here. The service was excellent as I was attended to by both a waitress and a manager who both did a great job and were genuinely interested in my enjoying the experience. The place was very clean and obviously well managed. My only nitpick is it’s a little pricey. Expect to spend $ 20 – 30 here for dinner per person. But outside of that everything is superb. You can tell the owners are passionate about BBQ and it shows in every aspect of Smoking Mo’s. I will definitely be back.
