A wonderfully creative and open atmosphere set on a slight hill overlooking Shelter Islands’ Sunset Beach, The Perlman Music Program brings musicians from all over the world to gather, study, contemplate and enrich the mind, body and soul. Summer programs bring all cross-​sections of musicians to the shore to study and practice music in a nurturing environment. Best of all, throughout the season open practices and performances are available, open to the public. An early evening stroll on the beach then to catch a performance on the lawn, topped off with some local seafood and corn is the perfect summer Shelter Island evening. I can feel the cool warmth of a sunburn on my cheeks already.
