Willow Ridge Vineyards and Winery

Lovely spot with friendly staff & great wine. Bought a couple bottles along with seasonal gift accessories. I’m planning to come back on my next trip to the area

My boyfriend’s family is from Shelbyville so during our trip back we wanted to check out one of the local wineries. After a little research, we ended up at Willows and it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The land and indoor space is well kept and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The wine was awesome too. We purchased a dry white and a dry red while we sat outside and enjoyed the summer day. We enjoyed the wine so much that we left with three bottles to take home. This place is awesome.

My Husband & I have been to Willow Ridge many times. We have also brought many friends along with us. We love the people & their great wine. We enjoy going to Willow Ridge on Sunday Afternoons, when they have music. We just sit back & relax! It’s a great way to spend the day!

I had a very pleasant experience at Willow Ridge this past week. The staff was very courteous and I had a great time talking to them. I tried all of their wines for free, which was very nice of them since there are many wineries that limit your choice of wines. I was very impressed with the selection but my top picks are Hodson Hills and Harvest White. The former reminds me of port wines, only lighter. The sweetness is just mesmerizing. The latter is special in that you get that «fresh picked» flavor. It’s kind of hard to describe but it’s like a burst of freshness that jumps at you at every sip. Forget about Chardonnay because you will fall in love with this white wine. I have never had such good wine in quite a while. I highly recommend this if you are around Mattoon/​Shelbyville.

This winery was a wonderful place to go. First off, they allow you to bring in your own food plus they sell cheeses, crackers, sausages and breads. They have a great selection of red and white wines. I personally like the white wines. Another plus is the warm atmosphere. The owner and his wife are very friendly and will remember you personally. When you walk in they will let you go down the list of wines and descriptions and then let you taste each one for free. Choose what you want and drink it there by the glass or bottle or take the bottle home. I have to say, this was a great trip.
