I’ve stayed at this HIE location on about 10 separate occasions over the last 9 months while traveling to Shelbyville for a project I’m working on. It’s a new building and has always been very clean on each visit. The staff is friendly overall, but kind of disorganized and could use some corporate training on presentation and formalities. That being said the hotel provides all the basics you need for an overnighter or even a few days. And again, the rooms have always been clean and comfortable. Wifi is a bit weak throughout the building unless your in the main lobby.

Very clean hotel. The staff was very personable & accommodating. I was traveling with my club brothers and sisters, we had over 10 people in our group. A few of our members were IHG members, one Platinum & one Gold status. The check-in host was able to upgrade some of us to suites which helped a lot. All in all when traveling I will definitely stop and stay here again as will the others that were in our group.

We booked this room through Priceline. We had 10 People in our group 7 adults and 3 small kids. On Pricelines website they offered a double queen room with special conditions and the photo showed a very large room and a pull out sleeper sofa for $ 108 each. Holiday Inns website clearly also sells this room as accommodating 5 people. So we reserved 2 rooms. Upon arriving we were given 2 standard small rooms with no pull out sofa. We were told by the manager Priceline put the wrong photo with the wrong room. However Priceline says the manager gave them these photos. After almost 2 hours we finally were forced to pay $ 158 for another standard room. The manager/owner Jay was rude and unhelpful to our situation. He was so greedy to make a dollar because the FFA was in town he actually sold the last suite while we were trying to resolve our situation right out from under us instead of giving us the actual room we had booked.

Not sure how this still has the HIE emblem. Not a HIE. Non-working fitness room, no breakfast attendant, dirty rooms, and no maid service. Nothing else to say.

This hotel is located in a quiet area, has friendly staff, clean rooms, and a decent-enough hot breakfast choices. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, but the hair in the shower that wasn’t mine, when I got to the room? Yuck. It was late, though, and I didn’t feel like dealing with it. When I mentioned it the next morning during checkout, the front desk person was polite, but didn’t really volunteer a «sorry». I wasn’t expecting anything, but an apology that at least sounded genuine would have been nice. Still, despite that, this hotel did exactly what it should have done: gave a tired traveler a quiet place with the basic amenities and a good wi-fi signal.
